INSTANT KARMA! (WE ALL SHINE ON)
Instant Karma’s gonna get you. Gonna knock you right on the head
You better get yourself together. Pretty soon you’re gonna be dead
What in the world you thinking of? Laughing in the face of love
What on Earth you trying to do? It’s up to you. Yeah you!
Instant Karma’s gonna get you. Gonna look you right in the face
Better get yourself together darling. Join the human race
How in the world you gonna see? Laughing at fools like me
Who on Earth d’you think you are? A superstar? Well right you are!
Well we all shine on like the moon and the stars and the sun
Well we all shine on. Everyone come on!
Instant Karma’s gonna get you. Gonna knock you off your feet
Better recognise your brothers. Everyone you meet
Why in the world are we here? Surely not to live in pain and fear
Why on earth are you there? When you’re everywhere
Come and get your share
Well we all shine on, like the moons and the stars and the sun
Yeah we all shine on, come on and on and on on on
Yeah yeah alright. Uh huh ahh
Well we all shine on like the moon and the stars and the sun

“Why in the world are we here? Surely not to live in pain and fear.” And the rest of the lyrics. Amazing.
@ walkhard walkhard “The total amount of suffering per year in the natural world is beyond all decent contemplation. During the minute that it takes me to compose this sentence, thousands of animals are being eaten alive, many others are running for their lives, whimpering with fear, others are slowly being devoured from within by rasping parasites, thousands of all kinds are dying of starvation, thirst, and disease. It must be so. If there ever is a time of plenty, this very fact will automatically lead to an increase in the population until the natural state of starvation and misery is restored. In a universe of electrons and selfish genes, blind physical forces and genetic replication, some people are going to get hurt, other people are going to get lucky, and you won't find any rhyme or reason in it, nor any justice. The universe that we observe has precisely the properties we should expect if there is, at bottom, no design, no purpose, no evil, no good, nothing but pitiless indifference.” -----Richard Dawkins

It's emotionally exhausting listening to this. Lennon shreds his vocal chords with such passion when he sings.
Yes, I felt the same way. I like how his voice (and the song) fades to a faint echo ... like we are fighting until the end for our voices and beliefs to be heard ... If you're passionate about a Life that slow fade is kind of how it is. Great Song!

I was obsessed with The Beatles when I first became a fan when I was 12. They helped me through the absolute roughest years of my life. Bullying, no friends, awkward kid who thought they had no one in the world. But The Beatles were my love and brought me so much joy. John was my favourite and I always think about that time in my life. They were such a light to me. I'm a lot older now and much, much happier. I think about them all of the time like old friends. I miss you John and George. John, you should have been able to live and enjoy life with your family and be a very old man. I'll never not be upset about the way you died. Thanks for the music and being there for me when I had no one. I'll always love every member of The Beatles.

it is art, so it is up to anyone who listens to the song to project themselfs and give it meaning. having said that, I think that since the song is about karma and given that John had instruction from Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, the answer to the question may be "to liberate and burn karma". what do you think?
He’s saying god would not want this for us. John and yoko are Christian’s. Not me saying that yoko said that. God is all about peace and happiness. The beautiful energy that is the god love. Not the vengeful god
This song is a prime example of the ear splitting timing genius of John Lennon.
We need you right now, John! ♥️
We have enough heroin addicts right now thank you
@@antmothirteen6540 im one of them ☺
I, like millions of others, miss John Lennon. I can only imagine what creativity he would have tapped into from his being, had he had the continued chance. Yeah, we all shine on, John... But, still, I wish you were here.
wish youu were here, shii- wrong song
One thing Yoko said about him is that he’d be totally into the internet and would love the idea of being able to talk to anyone in the world at any time. He certainly would’ve teamed up with Bill Gates and/or Steve Jobs
Well we all shine on, like the moon, and the stars, and the sun!!!!
Alejandro Casillas great
Alejandro Casillas I love this. We all shine on ♡
Jotn Lennon is a songwriting genius 🎉🎉. His music 🎶 🎵 is genuine 🎉🎉. He is unapologetically real to his craft and his friends and family 🎉🎉. This song ❤️ 🎵 is a Lennon Masterpiece 🎉🎉
😂
One of the coolest dudes ever to grace this planet.

dubseedz757 I've always disliked him but I was going to give him a chance. Then I saw YoKo with a sanitary pad pad over her eyes in the video. Then I remembered why I dislike him so much. He would do anything to get attention. Even ruin a great song. Bye John!
Indeed he was !! Well said. Rx
Ice cube cool 👍
dubseedz757 He was a cruel creep
John said he wasn’t afraid to die. He thought of it as getting out of one car and into another. He lives on somewhere.
Reminds me of juice wrld
There's only two options
Anthony Kimani juice was dumb. caught with many drugs and weapons and sung songs for cry babies. he over dosed on purpose
In hell where he belongs
@@randallkennedy2066 He is in HELL, from his pack - contract with the Devil for Fame, to end in 1979. The Beatles never appealed to me but The Moody Blues did.
He achieved so much in 40 short years, a bright light gone forever but he left behind words and music that will forever endure
And he Shines on like the moon the stars and the Sun
John Lennon is greatest singer of all time … his music still hits the same spot number one❤
R.I.P John Lennon - 40 years ago today
And Klaus on bass..... throwback to the Hamburg days
Such a loss.
John Lennon is alive in my ❤.
John never fails to deliver a masterpiece for all of us. In my opinion, he is the most imaginative, experimental, lyrical, souful, rockish and very jazzy in his musicality with very deep personal messages that invoke deep feelings in all of us.
You are so right...
Pity his talent career and dick seemed more important than his eldest son. He wasn't perfect folks. Love you Julian who was raised by a great mother Cynthia just a reality check folks
Likewise for George Harrison
No never
Unless you include just about everything on the 'Some Time in New York' album, often referred to as the Stinky Stinker.
First song I recognized as a favorite. During a Nike ad; of all things. I was a kid and that was 1991. Im 43 now and Beatles rank #1 in my book. Use to think it said Mrs Karma. I was 11 and didn’t know how she’s was!!
This is Yoko's finest performance!
Agreed.
I was feeling this :)
love it , oh almost dropped a stitch
Omg. Dying. 😛
i read an interview recently where she said john saved her from a very bad time when they met..he told her he understood her..pretty nice.
I wish John was still here with us.
We all wish that too man ✌🏻❤️
He was a musical genius
Imagine all the classics we've missed since he passed.
cuak
True ..But the work he put out in his short 20 years is more then someone's lifetime.....Sp we have so much to listen to its astonishing
Amazing song . . . Amazing Singer/song Writer.
Sounds as crisp as the day he laid it down with the help of Phil Spector. A classic that never ages and sounds as good as the first spin...everytime. Shine on.
John Lennon. You were amazing. Miss you.
Do you imagine how many beautiful song he would have written if still alive???? i_i
He died 38 years ago today. Still sad.
my only hope is that the hell exist, to go there and see how mark chapman suffers
Imagine all the people
Listening to his songs
Yeah yeah, oh yeah yeah!
😢😢🎶
If he was still alive that would be amazing im 13 that shows how far his songs have travelled through generations hes just an amazing great man and it sucks that he was taken away from us like that I wasnt born when he was killed but when I heard his song it was amazing best music ive ever heard than when I found out he was killed I was extremely sad and I can only hope that his music will be shared to the generations so we can all experience the legend Rest in peace John and thank you for leaving all your songs for us and I wish I could have met you or gave you a hug because you seem like an amazing man but I cant I would do anything for you to not be dead I would burn my whole game collection if it meant youd be with us.The only problem is it seemed like you hd better plans for the future but today the world is shit i only wish I could go back in time and see him live
There's a reason why this man got voted artist of the century.
