  • In this video, GAT Puno Abundio Baet continues to show the Filipino grappling art of Buno. Here he shows various standing locking techniques and joint manipulation.
Buno is an indegenous grappling art in the Northern Philippines. A fusion of the grappling arts of the Aeta and Mangyan tribes, GAT Puno's father combined the arts and the locking methods of Arnis to create Harimaw Buno.

This is art I definitely want to learn. It’s great to see that the Philippines has an indigenous grappling art.

Same here. Garimot's Buno and Largo Mano fascinates us too.

That's true we're so many have techniques too much dangerous. Pilipino close quarter combat techniques.

Not a problem. The art has grown, but still has a lot to be recognized in the martial arts community. We're continuing to promote as well has educate for future generations.

Great moves GAT Puno Baet. Love the smooth transitions between locks.

When one attack is countered or doesn't work, transition to something else.

looks awesome....self defense is not static.

Agreed, Buno is definitely one of the more unique and painful grappling arts that's not taught in the mainstream.

What's interesting is that the same moves that are meant to hurt, actually can help heal in terms of stretching.

Do you know any names of the grappling arts of the Bansa Moro people?

While I know some of this is practical, I have a hard time see this being likely to occur from defending the punch. Who leaves their hand loose and unretracted during a punch?

    • @stevemeisternomic
      @stevemeisternomic Год назад +1

It is most likely to be done after a punch to the jaw or guts. This is more for law enforcement, security or bouncers though.

When are we going to see him roll with a resisting skilled opponent

You can always try it yourself against a resisting skilled opponent. Please don't forget forget to record it so that we can all have a laugh.

There's a reason why DUMOG won't work in MMA; SMALL JOINT MANIPULATION. SJM is very difficult to perform though, especially the fingers

Again feel free to reach out to GAT or travel to Paete if you have further questions. And they refer to the grappling as Buno FYI.

I’m not sure why MMA is always referred to as the gold standard to seeing if something is worth learning or not. MMA has rules to follow. You don’t see anyone kneeing to the groin in MMA either but you sure would use that in a street fight right?

That bald Asian guy filming at 0:35 looks creepy as hell.

Bald Asian at 1:22 again, I bet he's stealing shit

Sounds like you have something against Asians that you need to work out in your small mind. That looks like it’s Belton Lubas btw, who is a good martial artist on his own, probably not stealing shit. I train Garimot and people are filming all the time during seminars. Sounds like you need to expand your life and get some life experience outside of RUclips
