@@misterrkalebhimself I’m not sure about the guy who’s playing tony, I have seen him in baby driver but I’ve never seen him sing. I’m just un sure is all but I’m excited to see the movie!
THIS!!!!!! He should have been the new Tony in the Speilburg revival. AMAZING voice, inflections, acting the song. Making me believe his argument with Riff is real!
@@jennym127 did you see a 16 year old girl there????? So you are just assuming things that are not in the frame. Maybe theater and musicals are not for you. Maybe go read a book. Then you can make all the characters any age you want in your own head.
@@gaetanodisilvestro @Guy DiSilvestro LOL I have a degree in Theatre and have worked in the field for 20 years. I currently work in entertainment at a major motion picture company and have worked as an assistant for both casting directors as well as talent agents/managers. I know what Im talking about. This is literally my career and field. The Character of Maria is 16. I was in the damn show in high school. I played Graziella. I know the entire score of West Side Story (and over 100 other musicals). You see I'm on the autism spectrum and Musicals are one of my "special Interests" so I am obsessed with them and know more than the average person about them. I listen to musicals almost every single day. In addition I can tell you from working in casting, the days of pairing a young girl with a 40 year old man are over. No casting director would do this in today world. And the girl who played Maria in the film, was a high schooler. She literal had request filming of the movie be rescheduled cuz she was in her high school Senior year play.
I'm getting Jack Kelly vibes (that accent again:) if you try to forget that this is from West Side Story, I'm picturing a sequel, where he's in Santa Fe now... Anyone else seeing it?
I love how rich his voice is… He makes the switch from the spoken word style back to proper singing seem so easy and effortless. His little almost operatic flourishes 👌🏼
Indulge me for just one moment folks. So I recently woke up from a dream and this song was on my mind. Since then I've been on YT checking out every version of this song I could find. It passed the test! The test being will it bring a tear to my eye? Mission accomplished.
@@jennym127 Yep. Her name was Marni Nixon. She sang all of the vocals for Maria in the film. She also secretly sang the vocals for Audrey Hepburn in My Fair Lady, and for Deborah Kerr in The King and I. Eventually this information came out, but she definitely was not credited initially.

I love his Jack Kelly voice. Although I do find it weird that he loses that voice when he sings Maria :/ It was a good choice to lose the accent to sing Maria, since it would've sounded kinda weird with it, but it strikes me as weird nonetheless. I guess meeting Maria changed both his life and his accent!
He still has it. It's not as strong. But I can still hear it when he sings, "And suddenly I've found, how wonderful a sound, can be." "Wonderful" especially, sounds very New York to me.
this really is so welcome back kotter (which I happen to love), but is so wrong for West Side Story, it is so bad, that it is enjoyable to watch as I keep expecting Travolta to go Bar, Bar, Barbarino. It seems more like a parody or lampooning the style/sounds.
the show is called West Side Story (in Manhattan) not Canaries from Canarsie (in Brooklyn), those accents were so guido Brooklyn, all five boroughs have there own peculiar types of sounds. these are way to heavy to be from anywhere in Manhattan. poor research, bad director, and musical theatre performers trying so hard to ACT as opposed to simply being in the moment of the their realities given their circumstances, and the back histories that make them who they are, which is acting as opposed to ACTING, which happen to often in musical theatre.
What a stupid comment. It s a play. Not movie. The people on the back of theater can see the whole body as the size of an arm. Not to mention this particular play, the song composer set the stage where he wanna see the actors, meaning the orchestra is not below platform but at the back and the stage is cut into small road like alley. There s no way to set up prop and they have to use body gesture ie. Climb air ladder instead of climb the real ladder. People like you know nothing yet leave stupid remark.
What a joke. It s a peace of crap. Hasnt you see the reviews and opinion on all the broadway board out there? There r only small nip pick people who like it. But that s how world work. We got to have stupid people like u to balance the world. If only smart and sensible person exit it ll be boring.
Jeremy sounds just like Jack Kelly because both Jack and Tony are from New York. I love it so much.
LaurenLMusic: That's cus they are both sung Jermyn Jordan
Ya that’s what I was thinking Jack Kelley sings Something’s Coming
😍😍
This Jack Kelly accent gets me everytime 😍😍❤❤❤
His performance quality is always stunning

*Jeremy Jordan cover shows up*
Me: HE'S EVERYWHERE WHAT KIND OF WITCHCRAFT IS THIS
EXACTLY WHAT I THOUGHT
I was just looking for a non-glee version and suddenly Jeremy Jordan
Honestly same
wow I was just about to say the same!! I did not even expect this. Just wanted to watch the movie version and this came up
petition for a new movie with this cast!
Better than the movie that's actually being made. [shudder]
David Fathom Rachel Zegler as maria? that sounds fantastic.
aislinn nash and Ansel egort actually has theatre background as well and is great as well
Well, it doesn’t have this cast, but there is a Spielberg reboot coming out!

Unfortunatly he's way to old. In his late 30's. Old enough to be Maria's dad.
@@jennym127 when has that ever mattered?? He doesn’t LOOK like he’s in his late 30’s. Don’t be such a Debbie Downer.

He has perfect pitch, such a great voice!
I am in Love with his voice !
HE SO TALENT
he's probably sung every musical in existence at this point 😭😭
beautiful voice!
Thank you so much for recording this!
Niiiiiiiiiiiiice voice dude jeez! 💓⭐😊
It's funny the people hating on his accent. He's from Texas. :)
I bloody love him
Que Artista! ❤️😍👏🏽
I love him so much
Jack Kelly making his grand return to that stage ♥️
Dam, those Abercrombie bloods are one bad ass gang! Amazing voice!
Thank you for making me laugh out loud. Always a problem with this great show--no one who can hit those high notes ever seems like he was in a gang.
Can you imagine if someone actually did something with this talent? Now all you need is Natalie wood. Just don't change it too much. It's a classic.
Natalie Wood's singing was dubbed in the film. It was someone else singing for her.

Debating who sang it better: Jeremy or Darren. I can't choose! 😅
I think each of the two versions are fantastic in their own right and too different to compare :)
Jamie_Jewel none. GAVIN CREEL.
Larry Kert
And now they are both in the DC universe
The answer is always Jeremy Jordan.
I'm so sad that he won't be on the remake! :(

Lyrics:
Could be, who knows
There's something due any day
I'll know right away, soon as it shows
It'll make a cannonball down from the sky
Gleam in it's eye
Bright as a rose, who knows
It's only just out of reach
Down the block, on the beach
Under a tree
I've got a feeling there's a miracle due
Gonna come true
Coming to me
Could it be, yes it could
Something's coming, something good
If I can wait
Something's coming
I don't know what it is
But it is gonna be great
With a click, with a shock
Phone'll jingle, door'll knock
Open the latch, something's coming
Don't know when but it's soon
Catch the moon
One-handed catch
Around the corner
Or drifting down the river
C'mon deliver to me
Will it be, yes it will
Maybe just by holding still
It'll be there
Come on something
Come on in, don't be shy
Meet a guy
Pull up a chair
The air is humming
And something great is coming
Who knows, it's only just out of reach
Down the block, on the beach
Maybe tonight

Are there any slime tutorials of Jeremy Jordan as Tony???
i love that he basically just reuses his jack kelly voice and mannerisms it rlly works here

All the modern Tony's are great, ust wish the played with the anticipation of the song instead of sheer excitement.
