You should do a pipe shootout for the yz125. I couldn't help but think you should have gone old school with a Bill's pipe setup for a bike like that. I think they're still around in a limited capacity. Bill was one of the kings back in the day. Especially after yamaha was doing a blind pipe test and Damon Bradshaw chose the Bill's pipe as his favorite. Early 90's time frame.
the Bill's pipe for the 2022 YZ125 is awesome . super impressive performance out of mine . they are in business still , but their site is down , and they only really interact on social media or through email these days . but they are still making pipes.

I would like to see the dyno numbers as 10 horsepower I doubt it unless it was knackered before I’ve done 144 Fmf pipe v force on a brand new yz 125 you get about 4 horsepower in my opinion dep pipe y1g felt as strong on the track as all the other mods put together and that’s on the standard bike
@@johngray722 Now you are saying something different than the mods you first listed. I can tell you that since there is really no calibration for dyno's (Yes, I own one), they will read differently for actual power output, so don't put a lot of faith in somebody's actual dyno numbers. I don't believe what you say with your second post, because you did not say it in the first post. What most dont realize. The stock pipe usually has the best HP results. Yamaha doesn't purposely leave hp on the table, they pour millions into r&d. The only thing they'd potentially short on would be quality of materials. Those fmfs are usually come in last but have decent torque numbers. Kinda pointless for a 125 tho
As an engine builder myself, (smaller 2-stroke engines/top end kits that I port with a cnc mill, as I port a lot of them.), you do have a pretty valid point. But, everything can be improved. I am sure a good custom pipe builder can find more power than most stock pipes for a particular cylinder/head.
how much would that set you back, getting the jug & head done? I'd like to send mine in to get the professional build quality, but wouldn't be afraid to build my own if that service is costing too much.
Did you have any issues using the Rekluse clutch and sleeves with the Wiseco Basket? The ProX clutch basket has a note included with the basket stating the clearance is tighter than the OEM and that only OEM clutch plates or equivalent should be used.
no, I did not assemble it yet but I am pretty sure the clutch plates size is bit smaller to accommodate those inserts that comes with it. They make it in the way to fit stock basket as well
@@dirtniron Some of the aftermarket baskets have tighter tolerances. ProX has a note on their instructions noting that with their clutch basket for the YZ250 I am just curious if the Wiseco basket is the same. I called Rekluse about what dimension is required and they stated their Torq Drive plate system is set up to work with OEM basket tolerances with the Torq Drive clutch plates and steel basket sleeves
Dude, you can make WAY more than 10hp by leaving it stock... rejet the carb for e85, add 30% Nitromethane and Blendzall to taste. Yummy! Very good power but you'll need to spray starting fluid in the air box to get'er lit, and rebuilds are more often. But you know what's even better?: YZ250
Crank cases can be modified, but not ported. Like the "port holes" on the side of a ship, the porting is in the cylinder that defines the port shapes at the cylinder wall.
Every section of the pipe from the header section to the stinger can be changed to get a shift in power and power increases. They do look similar, but if you measured each pipe section and tuned length, there are differences.
I would say 10hp could be achieved. Why? The use of "race fuel". I would say all the mods (134cc big bore, reeds, FMF Fatty and shorty silencer) on 91 octane would do about 5-6hp easily.. the addition of 110 octane should do 3-4 HP using the more aggressive timing of the port job.
