This is the way I see it. If you own a home, pay taxes, and have bought a firearm from an FFL, the government knows what you have. They can't just come knocking on your door saying we know you have this that or the other and take it even if they decide to outlaw it. The more people who own suppressors, the closer they become common use, and the closer we can fight to get suppressors, short barrle rifles off the NFA. SO I say stop being scared, cry babies, man up and get a suppressor, an SBR, or SbS or hell, if you can afford it, a transferable machine gun. The more popular they become, the more we will eventually win and get some of these items off this list.
am i the only one who thinks they are going to lose the ability to tax it and therefore are trying to collect as much as possible before its no longer taxable for them? gotta exercise that power while it still lasts
could be because they want the $200 fee and the fact that there was a law brought just prior to the vegas shooting incident to de legislate suppressors so they are making it easier (fasteer) to keep the $ flowing so people don't try and revive that law and they lose their $ at leat that is part of my theory and it is easier to press a yes button than to actually go through the paper work so laziness on office workers
This is because part of the complaint in the 5th has been the fact that a right delayed is a right denied. They are proving that this has all been about denying the people of the 2nd.
@@glenncoodyexactly what I was going to say and just to piggyback off what you are saying the form to buy silencer is exactly the same its just faster makes no sense 😂😂😂😂

It took 15 months for my first suppressor. Now I have been waiting for 6 months, and even with everyone saying the Form 4 is moving faster, I am not seeing it yet.
e file or paper? Cause if it's on paper, you will need to wait a couple more months. I filed for 6 cans on paper last October and got my stamps 2 weeks ago. However, I bought another one last week and the stamp is already here. I'm still waiting for an SBR to come thru. I did three last year and it only took 2 weeks to come back on all 3. I filed those myself on E-forms. My current form for my latest SBR has been almost 2 months now and nothing...
Perhaps the ATF fears the Texas suppressor case may rule they cannot regulate suppressors any longer. They need to collect as much "tax" as possile while they can,
It’s because they want to have proof that they’re going to have a challenge on wait time and want to have a metric proving they’re efficiently approving form 4’s and that they’re aren’t delaying anyone’s rights.
Summitted eforms, via Silencer Shop, to ATF on Wed, Sep 27, 2023, called ATF on last week, they have it, still in process status. That's 7 and 1/2 months....this is my second suppressor too, so shouldn't it take less time?....ATF checked me out once already. Thoughts?
I think Guns and Gadgets said that they changed the SOP, rather than first come first served, they'll get an application see if they can approve it quickly if not it goes to another pile someone else works on and they move on to the next.
They want to collect as much money as they can before they get taken off the NFA list. They are encouraged in the rest of the world as a safety device. They will be coming off the list.
It's to make their case better in the Texas lawsuit. One of the quoted issues was the long wait times...if they win in that case? Look for them to increase times again.
Where are they short? Im in communist Oregon and I have been waiting to be cleared for over 6 months now, and they say it could be up to a year. WTF? Is this still America? No!
Same here. I place every suppressor I own in my Trust, which I use Silencer Central. I'm still waiting since April 1st for my most recent purchase to be released from gov't jail.
I guess if more people are inclined to buy them because of the low wait times, they will collect that sweet sweet tax stamp money... That's probably the real motive.
I did mine 3 weeks ago it’s not true for most people just the ones that make videos about it. Seems like a scummy way to get more money out of us. I wouldn’t have done it if I knew it was gonna take this long. 2A scammers exist too.
I can vouche…I shattered the record at armory. They were floored. 72 hours I got the call it is good to go. Will for SURE be nice to have some hearing protection
Just remember, as a group of armed intruders are breaking into your home: Put on your hearing protection before deploying your home defense weapon. 😋 (Or you could use a suppressor instead!)
BAD impression when it goes to court. Takes you time to snatch up a longarm anyway, so putting on a set of electronic earmuffs is nothing and it helps you hear better.
Did the electronic version of the Form 4 through Silencer Shop, over two months ago, and I'm still waiting. Hopefully, it won't take as long as the "old days," but I definitely am not experiencing this super fast approval everyone is talking about.
A sneaky way to get people who hate registration to gleefully register themselves, while paying for the pleasure. Hypothetically: if you bought a 5.7 from a private sale, nobody knows, BUTT if you purchase and register a 5.7 suppressor...? Yeah. Even fudderal employees can add "1+1". OK, some of them can. That and the ammo on your credit card and browser history. Speaking of credit card. An imaginary 9mm from a gunshow. No paper. No hassles. BUTT you start buying handgun accessories online. And when another non-law, that can still kill you, is put in place to regulate accessories... they'll know exactly where to go.
Because they will turn around and declare them illegal so they can come after them possessing them.
NAILED IT!!
And while they’re there, confiscate all your guns too

big effing deal, like they dont know that already? if they offer $100 rewards, everyone you know will snitch on you for being a gun owner

That is better than it being free information they have already.
And there is no guarantee people would always take that $100.
