    You are spot-on when you say that it's the older guys who look at this car. When it was first launched, I was at the Montreal car show with a buddy of mine. Sitting in the car, I pointed-out to my buddy that the only people around it were middle-aged men, like ourselves, possibly with "Vanishing Point" fantasies. At least it has a big trunk and a usable back seat, and thanks to AWD we can at least pretend to our better halves that it's a practical choice...

    Thank you for not hating on it because it's a V6 I am looking into getting one of these and have looked at a lot of other reviews that said it was too slow. I think it looks amazing and is just fast enough to drive every day

    • @PRNTestDrive
      @PRNTestDrive  5 лет назад +1

      I don't know why people have to hate on it just because it's a V6. We enjoyed it for what it was, and the haters out there should just let people enjoy their cars. We're hoping to book the 2.0L Chevrolet Camaro this summer, that's another vehicle that will likely get a lot of hate from people just because it's a small engine.

    • @DrStfuFool
      @DrStfuFool 5 лет назад

      Anyone that says its too slow needs to go test drive a Subaru Crosstrek on the highway THEN get in one of these and do the same. Merging on I-15 with a dinky 4cyl is dangerous, I don't care how much better it is on gas. This is the perfect balance between that and a V8; literally in the middle lol

    People have been criticizing this for v6 RWD/AWD but have no clue what they talking about. You live in Canada you need an AWD .With 300 plus hp it’s a go go for me

    • @PRNTestDrive
      @PRNTestDrive  6 лет назад +1

      I don't get why people criticize it either. Chrysler is providing vehicles that people want to buy, and choice is always great. This is a unique vehicle that has a market, especially here in Canada like you mentioned. Being able to drive a car like this year round is a big plus for a lot of people who don't need to spend all their money on gas with the V8s.

      It's hard to pass on the AWD if you're in a climate like ours. Sure the V8 is great, but having that added level of control in the winter is unmatched. I don't think I'd want to drive the Challenger RWD in any version in the winter.

      i live in a rural area, some farmers and some construction or logging workers use a pickup truck, some days ago im was surprised because in a small parking on 10 cars 3 was pickup truck but is an exception, but seems they are sligltly more popular than years ago, is not too uncommon see a toyota hilux or nissan navarra or mitsubishi l200 trucks, also a couple of ford ranger, a chineese brand that i forgot the name and vw amarok.
      all of them are smaller than ram 1500/f150, they are around 5.2-5.3 meters long.
      there's also an f150 5.4 v8 and a ram 1500 5.7 v8 around here but they are not vehicles for work, they are just toy for wealthly men.

      probably it was an early production model, since few months ago, the new giulia and stelvio build use a new infotaiment with android auto and apple car play, if that miss, you are sure that is a car from first year of production, so some small issuse can be occure, but i never heard something of serious like dead engine or random explosion when driving lol.

    I’m currently in the market for a new car, and have been checking out the Challenger. From all the review videos I’ve seen, this is definitely the best one! You were very thorough and informative, plus the laid back tone helped a lot. I’m looking at the 2020 AWD GT or the 2021 if I decide to wait until next year. I’m currently leasing a 2018 Subaru Crosstrek and love the AWD, which is what sold me on being heavily interested in the Challenger. Have you test driven a 2020 model and how does the AWD on the Challenger compare to the AWD on a Crosstrek?

    • @PRNTestDrive
      @PRNTestDrive  4 года назад +1

      I'm glad you liked our episode on this, thanks! I haven't had a chance to drive the Crosstrek as of yet, we have driven most of Subaru's other vehicles though. Subaru's X-mode, and the dual X-mode on something like the Forester Sport is an added level of control over something like this Challenger, but really only comes into use when you're looking to travel along a seriously snowed-in path. I found the AWD on this Challenger to be excellent, and the best way to make sure you're as safe as possible is to get the right set of winter tires. We've tested a number of vehicles with Pirelli Scorpion Winters and they make a phenomenal difference.

    • @Nightfall95
      @Nightfall95 4 года назад +1

      PRN_TestDrive Thank you so much for the quick reply! I appreciate your insight on this. You’ve definitely strengthened my confidence in going with the Challenger AWD. I’m from Long Island and winters here are always a joy lol Subaru has been great in the winter months and I’m looking for other options when my lease is up next year. Something with AWD but looks cool at the same time, and I think this car nails both. Can you request those tires upon purchasing it at the dealership or is that something you have to put on separately? I was planning on leasing the Challenger before making an initial buy.

    • @PRNTestDrive
      @PRNTestDrive  4 года назад +2

      Subaru is a safe bet, but it's awesome that FCA started offering AWD on the Challenger. You get a bad-ass car with the ability to use it year-round! The dealer should have those tires available, we did an episode on the 2020 Dodge Durango SRT and they came with the Pirelli Scorpions. They're a bit more, but they work so well, a noticeable difference over the Toyo Observe tires we always recommend for Subarus.

    this new infotaiment is much more powerfull with hardware and higher resolution screen, also is very rich in information, i think is the best american infotaiment.
    but i think that the v8 is a more autentich engine for a true muscle car, and challenger is the only true muscle car, camaro looks like a toy and interior visibility is horrible, mustang is nice in design and handling but is a pony car.
    but i prefer charger, looks more modern and practical and the mechanics is the same.

      We've got the latest infotainment from Ford right now, and it's clear Uconnect is better. GM's tech wasn't bad either but feels a lot like what Honda is offering. We agree though, the V8 definitely makes the car, but I think it's interesting to have AWD for our climates.

    Great reviews! I also live in Quebec and I was going to buy a Challenger Scat Pack but hesitated because of the size of the vehicle; I ended up buying a lovely 2018 Mustang GT convertible that I will be driving between May and October.

    In my experience my female friends appreciate the luxury cars, the cute cars like the Mini, Fiat or Z3, Z4 and Miata...but for a daily driver they want the Crossover or SUV....they like the higher view lol But all of them turn their heads when they see a classic car or an exotic sports car. I think the Challenger might turn the ladies heads if they recognize that it's similar to the classic Challenger, but honestly there's a lot of these on the road now so the reaction isn't there anymore. Same goes for modern Mustangs and Camaros so it's not just a Challenger thing. But F-it, pick your date up in a Honda Civic and tell them how much you save on gas. That'll impress them :)

      There's plenty of drag strips up here in Quebec, and I imagine there are plenty in the US also, I see enough videos online from large drag tracks, usually in the southern states where the weather is mostly warm/dry.

      There's no doubt, we just wanted to add some humour to the start of the video. But we did pay attention, it was the older guys looking at this as we drove by. Maybe if we had the V8's rumble we'd have others checking it out more. Cheers on a great car!

    Christopher Hitchens should rise from the grave and bitch slap you for your horrifying pronunciation of (CON-TIM-PLATING). Other than that. God bless bro!!! BTW We're driving the 2017 R/T Hemi(370 Hp??) Charger right now and I'm pretty impressed as a dyed in the wool car that's never interested in Dodge or Ford. If I bought a Charger or a Challenger I want the naturally aspirated beast 485hp Hemi engine or nothing.
