The Modern Rogue can we call the 3rd one he french ass ( I’m french)
OMG, THE SKALLY REFERENCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Came across an old book yesterday called The Chemical Formulary, published in 1933 and has some awesome things in it, worth a look
i tested it, it does
"That was a billion times better than I Dared hoped it was going to taste." Later that evening Bryan was found dead due to botulism that was present in his drink...
The only channel where a mage, a bard, a fighter, and a thief are all considered rogues.

Okay, now who is who?
Have you heard of multi-classing?
Multi class
If y’all didn’t get the pun at 4:12. There’s a brand called “mead” that makes notebooks
Like actual notebooks?
Oh my god, I watched this episode about a hundred times and didn't get that until today. And I literally have a mead notebook in my bag.
I had to google it! :/
thank you I needed that.
i didnt know that at all
“That meant something else in my 20’s”
Spoken like a true bartender
these guys would make a great DND party, Brian as spellcaster, Jason as a thief, Anthony as a fighter, and Trever as a bard/alchemy mix class.
If that was a patreon reward, I'd pay in a heartbeat. That would be so awesome
Oh, something like that will *definitely* happen.
Jason Murphy 1) that's awesome a modern rogue should be able to tell excellent story, and DND is a good way to do that. 2) thank you for replying to my comment really made my day
@@BoingoRider , not trying to harsh on a true statemenr, but a rogue should also know how to spell rogue
Jacob Benns How do you know he's not a Modern Rogue from the Moulin Rouge?

Is Jason Murphy a Skallagrim fan?
Trevor is back, the three musketeers are together again.
The three Meadsketeers.

@@teamcybr8375
Don't get me wrong, I actually do like your idea.
But it might be a wee bit too narrow as a definition, so "The Three Boozeketeers" might be more accurate. :-)
Trevor always has this perpetually perplexed expression, like he's always thinking he just got caught doing his secret hobby that nobody was supposed to find out about.
Next episode: how to make kvass in a gulag toilet
Venom. gr you mean prison wine?
@@darrianweathington1923 no, Kvass is a slavic beer-like alcohol
I genuinely laughed at this one lmao

Where did you get this?

Sooooo tru
Lisa ur hot pls marry me now bby befor I must go back to Mumbai India

Mead is the best right?
Did they meme skallagrim in this vid?
Yes
That's what i was thinking when Murphy said that.
Mmmmhm
well you can see by Anthony's reaction that they did it indeed
yes they did
16:25, if you guys want to drink bread, try and/or make Kvass. It's a Slavic drink, usually of low alcohol percentages and it is made from black bread, raisins, yeast, water and some time. If you want to, good luck.
Interesting! I think we just might!

Here's a note for Anthony:
My sister immediately fell in love and, I quote:
Her: "Oh thank God, he's a nerd. Our babies are going to be so smart."
Me: "This is a video about mixing drinks."
Her: "Babies are the same thing. You mix the ingredients, then leave it alone for a few months."
THEN KICK IT
@@oliverwalters9533 Preferably without the kicking
@@threeglassjars6051 especially WITH the kicking
@John Melvin hey, i kick all babies equally, no matter their race.
@John Melvin i'm only racist against babies
When Jason said, "End them rightly." and the HIMA instructor laughed... I felt good. I felt very good.
is that a reference to Skaalgrim?
@@philthethotdestroyer4194 has to be, right? i don't recall anyone else making it a meme?
@@philthethotdestroyer4194 has to be, right? i don't recall anyone else making it a meme?
the mead guy aka staff fighter aka parkour guy's new haircut is good
I think maybe other guys did the parkour episode?
Yes, it's a good haircut, though.
Lmao
Is it bad I still can't tell which one this is
Congrats on quitting your job, Murphy! (And on winning the little league mead battle)
Even though I've posted these before, I'd like to make two suggestions for future episodes:
The Modern Rogue learns how to make various knots
The Modern Rogue learns about tavern glassware (with Trever explaining what stuff is called and how it's used)
Great idea on the glassware. I forgot about that one! And a 'knots' episode is in the works. :)
@@TheStrangerous any reason you weren't drinking this episode?
I don't drink any more. :)
@@TheStrangerous good for you
Jason Murphy if you don’t mind me asking, why did you stop drinking? (You don’t have to answer)
To fix the mead: put it in the fridge for a few days to let the yeast settle out of it, then rack it to another container, let it sit in the fridge for a few more days and it should be a lot more clear and the yeast flav won’t be so harsh. Love this epp 🤘🏼
I love this video. I have friends that make their own mead and now I can make some interesting cocktails for them. You guys are amazing and I really anjoy those videos.
Jason playing DnD makes me feel considerably better.
Edit: Jason also knows of the "ending thine opponent rightly" meme.
That opening just made my day.
"ROLL FOR INITIATIVE!!!!!"
Man I love this show. You’re the only channel I know that has regular guests that I can’t wait to come back
Can you guys actually do a DnD episode and just have a full campaign series? I've played DnD with a couple friends and I've never been able to get into it. Maybe I'm doing it wrong.
We're going to get to that eventually, I'm sure.
@@TheStrangerous I genuinely love that you guys reply to your viewers. It makes me so happy that I watch you guys' stuff.
We're happy to have you!
@@TheStrangerous what class would you play lol?
I'd recommend getting a veteran DM, give some input on what kind of story or setting you'd be interested in and have some visuals like a drawn map and mini figures to bring some physical presence of your imagination.
Brian your responsive energy helps carry a lot of the show's character and deliver the message to the audience. DONT EVER CHANGE!!!
Watching this video while prepping to run a D&D game. Suddenly hear Murphy yell "ROLL INITIATIVE!"
Zelmel did you roll? Was it a critical fail?
@@darrianweathington1923 For what it's worth, I did and I rolled a nat 1.
This channel is honestly one of the best on youtube. Professional production, honest creators and very interesting topics. SOOOO GOOOOD.
"It's totally legal to go to a bar and drink something that's NOT in it's original container..."
But it *is* in it's original container, you have photo evidence! XD
Don't think that I've missed 'end him rightly' joke there.
Fantastic video, mah dudes!
The mead episode was my first one, and I'm so happy
When Anthony said “worst case you have vinegar and the start of a shrub.” You could see Trever light up with an idea on what he could possibly do with that if it was vinegar
"There are no mistakes. Just happy little shrubs."
Finally I've been waiting for another video with Trevor!
I am just starting my first batch of mead; this could not come at a better time. And will all my favorite people!
Jason kudos on your sobriety and just so you know you are just as hilarious sober and i love it! Another excellent episode guys! P.S. Thank god for Trevor making a come back and going into the public eye once more!
I will always relate to that panic Trevor felt when he made the mead pun and he thought no one had gotten it
Hey finally more mead videos i see you guys turning into modern viking gentlemans keep it up !
Cant wait for my first bottles of mead to be finished.
I started brewing mead thanks to you guys and my Dad (who had demijohns in the garage). I tend to use mulling spices in mine.
Yes! MOAR MEAD!
EDIT: And more Modern Rogue, of course. :3

End Him Rightly!
Didn’t know you guys were fans of Skall’s?
Anthony references it at the beginning of the longsword video
I have no idea who Skall is, but end him rightly is a fairly well know meme at this point.
Aka Skallagrim, he has a popular channel on youtube, and here's the video that originated that meme ruclips.net/video/jETLCm7k3sU/видео.html
Jason Schuler A historical arms and armor RUclipsr called Skallagrim was the one that started that meme. He found an obscure technique in a medieval fighting manual about throwing your pommel to “end him rightly”, which turned into an injoke then to a meme.
JustinDL97, Yes, I know. You didn't have to explain the meme to me. I'm just saying that just because someone knows about 'end him rightly' doesn't mean they're fans of this Skallagrim person.
Another great drink I got from Chaucer meads is equal parts sweet mead with India Pale Ale. Perfect for brunch or any sunny afternoon.
Dang it I really hoped there was a company called the wrath of god that sponsored y’all.
heh. That would be great.
So your episode got me to try it. I used a recipe that had it be left to ferment for a couple months. Turned out amazing.
"The Most Ambitious Crossover Event In History"
Trever is just so elegant with the bottle and the jigger.
When you said HEMA Master I heard Hemomancer and was like "since when was anthony a blood mage?"
I'm glad I wasn't the only one who heard that!
I think this is actually one of my favorite Modern Rogue episode! And I laughed so hard at “drinking bread.”
I would pay to watch them play d&d
Oh, we're doing it.
@@TheStrangerous
It's been a year, Mr. Murphy...
I've wanted to try making mead for a bit but reading all the recipes online make me nervous that I'd screw up and Jason's vision would come to be, but after seeing you guys drink your ... mead I have renewed confidence!
Thank you walking safety don'ts!
"REPENT"-Jason Murphy 2018
I really want these guys to try making Kvass, because they kept calling their "vintage" mead bready, but Kvass is an actual drink made from Bread. Really good, too!
I want to see all four of them play D&D
Stay tuned.
Yea
Another great video guys. I think I'll be making my own mead soon to surprise the D&D guys. Congratulation Jason Murphy!
i love this, sep 21 was my birthday, and mead is my favorite, i make my own every year (this year i added some blueberry syrup i made and the mead turned out a brilliant crimson red and is wonderful) i am for sure going to be trying these recipes with my mead and see how it turns out. for the record, last year my mead turned out at 22% ABV, this year less so since i tried something new withthe blueberry syrup at 15-16% ABV. ( my guess is i overwhelmed my yeast with too much sugar so it died off faster than it could adapt to the increasing alcohol content.) PS. like i said, my birthday, so i had way more to drink than would be recomended, please forgive my lazy grammar and spellchecking, i just wanted to get my point across.
Mechanoid we have the same birthday
> PS. like i said, my birthday, so i had way more to drink than would be recomended, please forgive my lazy grammar and spellchecking, i just wanted to get my point across.
No harm, no foul, young man. Everybody's entitled to a bit of leeway on their birthday, so don't get your knickers in a twist too much about that.
*_By. The. Way:_* I just realised that by pure chance, today's September 22, 2020 - which means you celebrated your next birthday yesterday. So another Bappy Hirthday for you as well as congratulations are in order, and I hope you did have a nice party despite all the Covid-19 shenanigans going on (BTW, fun fact: I celebrated my 48th twenty days ago). ;-)
My two favourite guests on the modern rogue, best episode yet!
I have no idea how it would taste, but I thought of an interesting cocktail:
prosecco, St. Germaine, mead, and Clementine slices... I call it the Germaine Clemons lol!
I love this.
Jason Murphy :-D
Love this show so much that when I got the notification of a new episode I actually pulled over to the side of the road to watch it on the way home from work. On another note, now I have a reason to go to the parker jazz club, maybe get lucky enough to have one of those mead drinks made by Trevor himself. Now that I would actually pay a premium for. Thank you Modern Rogue for helping convert a scallywag to a gentleman one episode at a time.
"End them rightly."
Ok, we need to get Skallagrim on here now.
That was such an incredible pun and I'm so glad that it was explained.

MEAD GUY AND BARTENDER
HA!!
That made me geek out way too hard lol
its nice when they have people who know what they are doing on the show
I vote for Oblique Ganymede as the name of the last drink. Although it should probably be spelled Ganymead.
HAHA!!!
Love these cocktail videos, i've got back into making cocktails since you started making these, the negroni and old fashioned are top in my book!!
"I'm telling you, a beet, sweet almost and earthy.... and dirt"
I love that you guys released this on the day i was planning to start my own batch.
I was waiting for more drink videos Thank you Sirs..... I commented about making a sword quite some time ago so since you learnt about using swords? Maybe you can do that soon?
I've been trying to make that episode happen for a while.
There are, but scheduling is a challenge.
Jason Murphy keep up the good work and keep trying Murphy
An absolutely great episode. I love your drink ones. I share them with a friend who owns a bar and grill
Better than tv
Man Trevor is doing his own classes now . I remember watching the extended outtakes of his first episode and he was nervous as hell to do it. It's amazing to see how he's changed
Started making mead because of the Modern Rogue! I currently have 15 gallons of the stuff in my basement.
One quick nitpick for Trever: 2oz is the brim of the jigger. Fill that thing all the way up!
There's fill lines in the jigger though, i guess some are made to fill to the brim and some are marked.
Jeffrey Becude the mark on the 2oz side is 1.5oz and it's 1/2oz on the 1 oz side.
Oh my god another modern rogue video about mead.. and cocktails..YES!
Them: infinity war is the most ambitious crossover in history
Me:
This is one of the most amazing episodes ever. Congrats Murphy on your success, too!
Anthony is dope. More weapons episodes needed
We've got one on the way!
@@TheStrangerous Already looking forward to it. Happy Friday!
I'm addicted to Blackberry Lemonade, so I bet I would love that Blackberry Orange one.
Great opening! I understand sponsors help make this happen, and it can get stale. Good way to break through the same old, same old. Though how you don't have enough patrons on patreon.com/modernrogue to fund everything you can think of and more is beyond me. #ad Also great to see a new mixology episode with Trever! And the saying in the description is a masterpiece!
i think they may be pre paid ads, plus they did just buy a lot of land so the account may be hurting.
@@TheKiingkiller This was my attempt at a jokey plug for a way to support content creators that make amazing videos. Hence the #ad.
Yo but MR be doing their ads clever, especially in the nail-dart episode where Brian yelled at Jason.
Awesome! I screwed up my mead a bit by stressing the yeast, but the off flavors are beginning to age out nicely! This is perfectly timed!
Did you give them a stack of papers to get through by tomorrow?
It's should have been the Ye Olde Fashion
Definitely!
The Last cocktail should be called "end of Summer" or something along those lines. It starts off like a party and ends with fruity and oaky (forest) flavors. Enjoyed the episode and I have been making my own mead since their first episode
