Hey, did the Chad get his pocket knife from a review, from the channel called wrangelstar?
Heck yeah
This is great! When are we getting an update on the mead?

Pretty sure they only release a video when they get a sponsor. Very few of their videos are not sponsored.

He's killing that beard 👌
He's aiming for a full 'Gizzly Adams' persona.
And with a wink & a nod, will bugger off in between the trees... NEVER TO BE SEEN AGAIN!
He’s looks like Michael reeves... but way more mature

OK, so I wasn't the only one thinking of that.
Sounds like him too

Well the jokes will write themselves with that one.
Jason: *grabs the hops* Chad?
Chad: that’s for later man
😂😂😂
I love how Chad was able to keep up with Brian and Jason’s antics. It’s way more enjoyable when the guest is able to joke around instead of standing there all awkward cuz they’re trying to be serious
Also the crystal 20 bit is 1000/10 😂😂😂😂

Cracking open one of my own brews for this video, thought it was suiting
0:35 To add to that disclaimer, as soon as the yeast is added, alcohol is being produced. That means *you then have to be of legal handling age to be able to even work with it after that.*
So if you can get a job handling alcohol in your state, you can still interact with the beer, even if you're 2-3 years underage to drink it. If you're under 18-19, though, it's safest legally to not even help bottling or anything.
Anyone else think Chad is like the Michael Reeves of beer Amirite?
Bro he looks exactly like Michael Reeves except he's slightly chubbier and he's white. And he's not short
Congrats on 1 million subs! So proud of how far the channel has come. You guys seem so genuine. Your chemistry and friendship is astounding. All the background crew do an excellent job. Don't lose focus of your origins, mythos, and fore values.
When I first saw this I instantly thought pruno
Cody Baker They wouldn’t drink it if they did that
Lucille Francois oh they’ve already made it before, and HECK NO did they drink it.

1 Million!!! I love you guys! Really love becoming a Modern Rogue!
This is actually a really good video for the basics of extract brewing not to much info to overwhelm you but enough to teach you de basics and how to get started!
Pre-episode Brian looks like he’s going through his emo faze at 35
Looks like he wants a body pillows instead of hullo pillow(sponsor).
Fun Fact: I have a homebrew beer kid and i'm about to start using it! I actually just made my own batch of mead (a small batch) and some friends of mine are looking into making their own mead! (5 gallons currently fermenting) and my inspiration has been you guys! I've spent a lot of time researching laws and such and we're going to check out a brewery tomorrow on a tour! So... Thanks Modern Rogue!
I really love seeing your drinks-based videos - even tried making some of them myself - but could we see a video in the future on making Mocktails, so that no Modern Rogue will ever be disarmed when hosting a friend or guest who can't/doesn't drink?
Congrats on the 1mil subscribers, been watching since the vaporizing whisky thing way back when. Straight makes me happy
I'm surprised it took you guys so long to make a home brew episode. I was inspired to start home brewing mead after watching your mead episode, and it didn't take long before I branched out to brewing beer as well.
Glad it turned out well, very rewarding process.
Congratulations on 1 Million subscribers guys!
Yeah!!! You guys finally hit 1 MIL!!! Love you guys!!!
He looks and sounds like a mix of Michael Reeves and Todd Howard.
Holy shit
17 y/o me watching this like
“Ah yes important information for me to need to know for my immediate situation.”
Seriously tho, good episode
I feel like this video is part of an unending cycle of:
1. Make 3 gallons of beer.
2. Drink 1 gallon each.
3. Make 3 more gallons of beer.
4. Drink that, too.
5. Repeat steps 1-4.
There's not a chance in the world that any of these fellas are sober.
That pretty much sums up the life of a homebrewer. Brew then drink then brew then drink, and on and on.
You guys finally made it to a million! It feels like yesterday when I found this channel and it only had a few thousand subscribers, pretty crazy
Congrats on a million subscribers, guys!!! Couldn't be happier!
Holy cow, only 1 million subscribers?! I thought there would be like 5-10 million, how is this channel that underrated?!
You guys are amazing, super congratulations on making it to 7 digits!
1 MILLION SUBS!!!!! Congrats guys keep up the great content
Congratulations on 1 million subscribers! You definitely deserve it
Sahti, kilju, kotikalja... We make beer at home all the time here in Finland
Wow ! You guys hit 1 Mil congrats !
I don't got time to watch this episode just yet. But I need to comment that you guys absolutely rock for this episode.
Really inspired me to try this in the coming year. Will get on his instagram and look up books for more details. Thanks guys!
Congrats on the 1M Subscribers boys!!!! I came around at the overclocked brain episode and boy it seems like a long while ago.
Congratulations on 1,000,000 subscribers!
homebrewer here: this is an excellent introduction to homebrewing! there may have been one or two things left out or not thoroughly explained but it is all correct, i even learned a thing or two listening to this guy.
very excellent video
Thanks man! I think some of the explanation was cut out in the final edit. Hopefully it makes sense to newbies.
Ahh yes, a modern rogue show ON my birthday? count me in!
Real cool to have a beer I have tried and from my home state be mentioned!
I’ve been brewing for 9 years. I whole heartily approve of this guy’s advice.
Because of you guys just yesterday I started to make my own mead, thanks for the motivation
Nice!!
@@ModernRogue Thanks
I've been an avid rogue since the pruno video
Very proud of you guys, you deserve the 1M subs!
God I love your channel don’t ever stop
Congrats on 1 mil!
It feels like, with Brian and Jason there, that this video was more geared towards the novice or entry-level brewer. With that being the case, it seems kind of counterintuitive that they demonstrated it with things like an oxygen tank as opposed to the more labor-intensive but newbie-friendly ways like just stirring it in a brew bucket.
21:56 Jason left hanging...
Making your own alcohol is so fulfilling. I've been making mead and moonshine for myself for the last few months and it's awesome!
Still haven't gone for beer but it's on the plan.
Welcome to the wonderful hobby of homebrewing! Be careful, it may turn into a lifestyle. Cheers!
Congrats on 1 million!
I really like Jason's western shirt. I've been looking to get some for myself, but they're very difficult to come by here in Finland, and they are fairly expensive.
It's finally come, after the episodes with the beerists and the how to make mead, it's all coming together.
It was a pleasure meeting you at the Bastards Ball, Brian!
1 million subscribers, 840 patrons, and a world headquarters and you still can't stretch to having Jason in the profile picture?
I don’t drink beer, but I love this channel, so I’m still going to watch! You guys are awesome!
Congratulations on 1 million subscribers
Does Jason not drink? That makes me love him even more! I don't drink alcohol and its nice to other people who don't.
There's so much more that goes into making beer than I expected!
Congrats 1M!
Them: The Modern Rogue is brewing beer!
Me: Ayyyyyy
Them: Its an extract brew
Me: Awwww
Nothing against starting with extract though
Add a few pounds of base malt (Ale malt) to the speciality malts in a larger bag and let it sit a bit longer, instead of using that powdered malt extract. Look for BIAB brewing here on YT to get started with all grain brewing the easy way. 🍻
@@MarsMountain We might cover it in a followup!

I may or may not have been on a Modern Rogue kick yesterday and watched every single video
O.o
(that's awesome)
Comparing this to the Millwall brick episode, my boy Jason really slimmed down
Good on him
-Now time to get it all back in beer-
Love the show guys!!!
that nerdy guy has such a smooth talk!!!
But a quick question.
Working at a pizza and sandwich shop.
And doing the baking goods.
Is he using instant active yeast or just active yeast?
Or is using a different type of yeast?
That preferred for beer making.
Congratulations on 1 millions subs
I was watching the Gose tap and hoping for a pour for you guys to try.
An odd question but what shade of paint is that on the wall, I’m renovating and have been trying to track down that sort of colour for a while now and every sample i try is just a little bit off
It's actually a mix of paints that the City of Austin offers through their paint recycling program. Austin ReBlend. www.austintexas.gov/department/austin-reblend
