Your kind acceptance of someone beating you to the best spot was good to see and Toby looked like he was in a blissful state as he drifted to sleep. Reliably great watch!
Hey, guys! Thanks once again for the likes and the comments on the videos, it's given them a real boost, and it's very much appreciated! I enjoy reading through them, and as some of you know, I always reply to every comment. I'm heading back out on another camp to enjoy the tail end of storm Bert, and will read and catch up with the comments when I can. Take it easy, Ryan!
You can always rely on us English to grab the best spot 😂. Sad story about Tommy, bless him. That peanut butter twirl didn't touch the sides. Lovely to see two wild campers being friendly and considerate of each other. Enjoyed watching mate 👍
Brilliant video, I was looking forward to this all weekend! One of my favourite walks, such a beautiful area 👍 Toby is one happy/spoilt pooch! We all know that so don’t worry . . . You do owe him a steak though 😂
Like you, tabbed around there so many times but never actually dropped down to the tarn. Looks a great spot. Good video as always, bit of escapism whilst working away for a couple of weeks and hotel camping...😢😂
I've been down there plenty of times, but never got around to camping it. It makes for a great swimming pool in the summer, it's quite a suntrap. I've done plenty of hotel camping myself, Chris, I don't envy you 😂
Great dose of outdoors! Toby was in his element and looked like he enjoyed his dinner, and yours looked tasty too! Really enjoyed coming along from New Zealand! Sad tale about little Tommy, and a nice tribute to him; a poignant testimony as to why mountain rescue service is so so vital.
Thanks, Amanda. Toby will be having steak on our next camp. Storm Bert has battered us here in Wales, all the roads are flooded, so we're a little stranded. I'll be enjoying a nice whisky when it brightens up on my days off 😉
I’ve been watching your channel on my work lap top. This is now my favourite channel. Excellent content, an area I know reasonably well. Spent some time in Brecon walking. Toby the dog is great. Now re watching on my own iPad. Well done mate looks like you have worked hard on these.
Thank you for responding back I am from Chico California I backpack in the Redwoods the Sierras end the Cascades here where you go it is much different and you don't have to worry about bears thanks again for the great presentations
Hello buddy. You must be so proud to have that beautiful landscape on your doorstep. The tent looked good, and that can too at 11%😅. Good to see you out again, always love your videos. Cheers, Serk
Hello, buddy! I really do appreciate it, and I think I'd be lost without it too. I have a 13% can for our next camp 😂 Hope you're good & well. Take it easy, pal.
Another great watch Ry. I've looked down there a few times and wondered what it would be like to camp at. New tent looks good, robens make some solid tents. Look forward to the next trip 👍
You're a lucky man to have such a beautiful area so close to home. Great video as always, Ryan just what I needed on a dreary Sunday afternoon. I always feel compelled to crack open a beer and pour a wee nip so you don't have to drink alone! Cheers! My best to Toby as well.
Absolute class video mate stunning part of the world wales is we spoilt for choice here nice little tribute to Tommy aswel I never heard of it before watching this video
A beautiful camp bro.... What a location too! Having been up the 'Fan I know how brutal the weather can be. REspect to the wee man. 5 years old, just a baby really🙏
Thanks, buddy! Yes, it's such a sad story about little Tommy. It wouldn't have been much fun on top in those winds...been there, done that. Enjoy your Sunday evening, pal 👌🏼
Hi Ryan just sat down after cooking my tea and out of the blue my 2 favourite wild campers are on great way to settle in for the night, thank you so much brother can you give Toby a stroke for me 🍻🙏💯, just want to say Ryan I'm glad the ice age left this beautiful planet for us nature lovers too enjoy the peace and tranquility 🌍👍
Very nice Ryan. It's a cracking spot to camp on. Nice winter grub👌👏👏 11% stout, wow! Blow your socks off. Always good to watch mate. Hopefully we'll have more snow soon.
I don't know why but I watched all your videos in the last week, I think. What a great channel - uniquely yours! Kudos and what could be better than camping with your pup?
I thought you might have had a dip before returning home, that's unlike you. 😊 A very pleasant watch and hope the tail end of Bert didn't make it too wet for you. atb Al
Thanks, Alan. A swim was on the cards, but I spent too much time chatting. I didn't make it out for the storm, the roads were too bad. Nevermind, I've got 3 weeks off to make up for it 🙂
Excellent video again mate stunning location! The vault city gingerbread latte was too strong for me but the sours they make are absolutely Devine 😋look forward to the next one buddy! 👏
Hey I recently subscribed this weekend and I'm on the second video really liking it and I've only got to 7 minutes think it's really nice what you did about the other camper and your dog Toby got a ruffwear jacket on😊
brilliant , another superb quality camp. I take it that you do appreciate you are extremely fortunate having that lovely countryside within walking distance. Im not jealous mind ive got hampstead heath up the road lol. Thanks again brother.
We stopped at Brecon caravan and motor home site walked to Brecon along the canal and a bus to the Arms. Brought back many a memory of yomping and made me wonder how I did it. Cheers 🍻
Cracking spot Ryan fair play ,Bloody English stealing you spot typical 😂. Tent looks mint like the dark colour. Aye Sad story about little Tommy 😢heart wrenching mun. ATB until the next adventure 👍🏻
Just finished watching another Great video . The tent looks great 😊 It is a beautiful spot there , I like to put hand warmers in-between 2 pairs of socks works great and warms the sleeping bag up a bit .we look forward to the next video take care keep safe both ⛺.
Hi Ryan Good to see you out and about !! Did look like windy Miller out there !! And dont worry or stress about how long the posts take we appreciate the content of your Quality videos Lovely place that is !!! Go well mate ATB Andy
Love watching your videos from here in the Cotswolds. I'm running a half marathon from Llanbedr in a couple of weeks time and whilst I'm used to running ultra races locally to my home, a half in the Brecons is somewhat daunting. Fingers crossed for a cold crisp and bright day. Big hugs to Toby 😊
Thanks, Melanie. I've always had the utmost respect for ultra runners, I find walking the mountains tough enough. I hope the Welsh weather is kind to you, and wishing you the best of luck! Ryan.
That’s a very sad story at the end of your video. The nent looks good. My wife is always telling me about a school trip she went on and had the walk up Pen y Fan. She got blisters, very sore point and that was 55 years ago. Keep up the good work. Phil. 🇬🇧
Only found your channel today, great stuff, have subbed. I too tried to get that spot earlier this year but was predictably beaten to it so ended up in the valley down the side of the llyn, which was still a great spot. Maybe next time!
Thank you, Paul, and welcome to the channel. It's a great spot, but I often see tents there when I'm out walking late afternoon, the surrounding area still makes for a beautiful camp though. All the best, Ryan.
Hi Ryan, really enjoy your videos and explanations, it's really helping me to get kit together and giving me motivation to get out there. I'm quite regularly working in Ebbw Vale at the moment so I get some tremendous views on the drive down from Manchester, makes it feel almost effortless 😊 Thanks for taking the time and effort to share your experiences with us all.
Thanks, mate, I'm glad you're finding the videos helpful, it's nice to hear. Hopefully you'll be able to get out soon. I used to drive up to Liverpool for work, and I agree that the scenery makes the long drive quite enjoyable. All the best, Ryan.
Great video Ryan That is one of my favourite camping spots in Wales, like you said it is a beautiful spot. I also drive 2 1/2 hours from England to get there . All the best, see you in the hills
Enjoyed the video mate, thanks for sharing. I had planned 3 days in the Forest of Dean but only ended up doing two and had to go home early due to storm Bert. Nice to see Brecon quiet for a change, I'll have to pop up there during the week as well by the looks of it. thanks again.
Another enjoyable video, the location looks beautiful. I’ve just finished reading ‘Finding Hildasay” by Christian Lewis, that I bought recently following your recommendation, and really enjoyed it, so much so, that I’ve ordered the sequel which should arrive any day. If any of your viewers are looking for a stocking filler, or have been tasked with a “Secret Santa” mission, they could do far worse, or of course just fancy it themselves. The recipient wouldn’t necessarily need to be a camper , it’s a feel good , easy read, and offers an insight into parts of the U.K. they’ve likely not heard of.
Hello, buddy! It's a brilliant read and an incredible story, I loved following his journey as he walked the coastline, just incredible. Yes, it would make a great stocking filler, it's a good read for anyone. If you have a search, there's a documentary on his walk in BBC iPlayer, also a Ben Fogle documentary, both a great watch.
Another brilliant camp by the looks of it. Ah it's gutting when you got a place in mind but someone gets there before you, isn't it 🤣 it happened to me the other week up North Wales lol. Wow that ginger bread latte looked right up my street. I've never saw that before. Did you get it from a supermarket please? If you don't mind me asking. Another brilliant video 👍🏻
Thanks, Charlene. I wasn't too bothered, with it being such a popular spot, I was maybe expecting it. It's a bit different when you've done a 4hr drive up North for a spot though 😂 I picked the latte up in Tesco. Morrisons have got a great selection of unusual cans too 👌🏼
Thank you, Dave. It would be worth a drive for a long weekend of camping for you - and vice versa for me, your neck of the woods looks spectacular. Take it easy, mate.
nice spot i took three American friends there in July they loved it.They couldnt believe all the countryside and coast on our doorstep.I was in Georgia with them in February and we had to drive over 3 hours to find somewhere to camp.
Hi mate , really enjoying your videos , I’m only from pontypool , and me and my mate now been wild camping now for just over two years making sure we do at least one a month , we also take a few funny beers as I call them , but I would also like to get into a bit of whisky like yourself , which one would you recommend for a beginner ? thanks darren
Thank you, mate! On this camp I'm using a Hongtellor lantern, it's just a cheap Made in China job that I picked up on Amazon (link below) it does the job, but the battery isn't lasting the long winter nights. I've just purchased the Black Diamond Moji R lantern (link in my latest video) and it's even more compact and lasts all night. All the best Ryan. Hongtellor Camping Light, USB: amzn.eu/d/36AuZeY
Thanks, buddy, glad you enjoyed. You should go spend a night there, you'd love it. I could've camped further along the lake, but it would've still been a bit close to the other camper for my liking.
Your kind acceptance of someone beating you to the best spot was good to see and Toby looked like he was in a blissful state as he drifted to sleep. Reliably great watch!
Thank you, Paul, much appreciated, mate 🙌🏼
Hey, guys! Thanks once again for the likes and the comments on the videos, it's given them a real boost, and it's very much appreciated! Hello, buddy! I really do appreciate it, and I think I'd be lost without it too. I have a 13% can for our next camp 😂 Hope you're good & well. Take it easy, pal.

All the best, see you in the hills
Thanks, Anthony! It's most definitely worth the miles to spend the night at this location. All the best to you, mate!
Great video! I agree with you that Toby much preferred being out with you rather than at home. Sad story about Tommy!
Most definitely, Chris, he loves to be in the outdoors! Hope you're good and well. All the best to you from sunny Wales 🏴
Biutiful 😊
Thanks, David.
Well done, mate, another great video 👍🏻
Cheers, Bazza! 👍🏼
Good invention the clothes
They are, Colin
Enjoyed the video mate, thanks for sharing. I had planned 3 days in the Forest of Dean but only ended up doing two and had to go home early due to storm Bert. Nice to see Brecon quiet for a change, I'll have to pop up there during the week as well by the looks of it. thanks again.
Thanks, mate! I was planning a camp in Storm Bert, but the flooding here was too bad. Let's hope December is good for us. All the best, Ryan.
Quality Video mate. Loved it....

Looked a cold one that mate..
Bloody freezing, Steve, but the whisky warmed me up a bit 🥃👌🏼
I did my first solo camp there just below where you pitched infront of the water, loved every moment, enjoyed the video
Thanks, Josh. That's a great spot for your first solo overnighter. Perfect solitude!

Thanks, Richard, glad you enjoyed.
Like that tent! I've never seen a Robens tent. Must be made in the U.K.. Let's us know it fairs in the winter!! Good Luck to you Ryan !
Thanks, mate. I believe Robens started off in Germany and are now made in Denmark. We'll see how she copes. All the best, Ryan.
Another great video Ryan, I’d love to visit that area but it’s a bit of a trek from the north east.ATB Dave.
Thank you, Dave. It would be worth a drive for a long weekend of camping for you - and vice versa for me, your neck of the woods looks spectacular. Take it easy, mate.

That's a beautiful spot for them to spend a night whilst visiting, Nigel. I bet our landscape is rather unusual to what they're used to in the States.
@ yes I think my mate is really missing Wales 🏴
Love you videos
Cheers, bud!
I’ve been looking at that Roben’s tent - look forward to your review
Thanks, Kieron. So far, so good ⛺

You could also give Glenfiddich a try, that's a nice easy going whisky 🥃
Ryan thanks for another great video. Can you tell me what tent light you use as it looks really compact and bright and I need a new one! Cheers mate

Thanks, Neil, and welcome to the channel. ATB, Ryan.
I enjoyed watching that butty. Always fancied a camp there myself. Were there not any more sheltered spots by the lake?
Anyway, great video again 👌
Thanks, buddy, glad you enjoyed. You should go spend a night there, you'd love it. I could've camped further along the lake, but it would've still been a bit close to the other camper for my liking.
I was wondering why no steak for Toby, but I did read other posts where you indicated that the steak issue will be resolved. Diolch
He has a nice, big juicy steak sitting in the fridge, ready for our next night out, Derek...got to spoil the boy!
