Amazing video grace! In case you ever do it again there is a path that leads up the ridge you would have been on it as you crossed the bridge over the water. Once through the gate it stays close to the trees and takes you all the way up 😊
I watched your 3 Welsh peaks last night, and this one tonight. You have such a sunny infectious personality and your editing skills are excellent. You look like you're loving life! I'll certainly be subscribing! I live on South coast but have been up and walked this route a few times with my dog, absolutely stunning part of the world and cannot wait to come back and do it again!
Nice video, one of my favourite walks. If you do go back in better weather and fancy a slightly longer walk then I'd definitely recommend starting at the carpark at Blaen y Glyn Isaf, then you can follow the waterfalls upstream to the memorial on Cerrig Edmwnt (wreckage of a crashed Canadian bomber from WW2) and then along to Fan-y-Big from there, then do your walk in reverse back to Taf Fechan and then back along an old railway track. It's a nice round trip, about 13 miles. Probably best done on a longer summer day though :)
I did this today with my nephew and i thought the same about Cribyn haha, plus that huge bog before it. Also, the same if not worse type of weather, lovely views with the whiteout 😂Still, a nice route.
Love your videos Grace! So positive and they always inspire me to get outside in nature! I can’t wait to do my first big hike of the year, been slowly adding some distance and adjusting my gear as I go. Can’t wait to see more
Always think about how on the shots of you walking you’ve got to go back and get the camera so much extra work for yourself but makes such a beautiful video
Remeber the first time coming off the flat top peak after wild camping in a snowy storm. it was so dark, wet and foggy couldnt tell which way we came , spent hours walking the top trying to decide which way to take. After hours of walking by luck we ended up back at the car. loved every second of it. keep up the good videos . =)
I did the two peaks when I 13 , it was a great adventure with my class mates , it was really snowing which made it wilder , but if stopped at the top and the skies opened, every memorable day
We stayed in may , wanted to do horse shoe pen y fan but couldn't find car park really poorly signed ,but ended up goin up from the hostel but was gutted we couldn't do horse shoe well done again grace
Really enjoyed this longer length viseo than your typical videos. The extra time really helps the viewer to get into it as well. Excellent well done and amazing scenery 👍
Last week I done part of this walk. I went up fan y big camped at the bottom which was so beautiful and then walked up pen y fan. Really beautiful walk haven't done the whole thing though
Nice one, Grace & as Demi says below the amount of extra work you put in to get yourself walking in shot is amazing. But totally worth it for the quality of your content. I did wonder though how much busier those trails would be in the summer? You had a great day Adventure 🙂
Hello Grace. Congratulations on completing your hike. Love your honesty about uncomfortable situations regarding pathless sections.. im not the best when it comes to navigation on open moorland. All the very best and looking forward to your next adventure.
Great video Grace - and a great effort in not so nice weather. Just a few pointers towards pronunciation of the peak names. Corn Du, say it as Corn Dee. Fan Y Big, say it as Van Uh Beeg. Pen Y Fan - say it as Pen Uh Van. Cribyn - you said it perfectly. I'm looking forward to watching more of your adventures in Wales - best of luck :)
Not sure how I missed this one. I've been there lots and wild camped at the summit of pen y fan and everytime I've been the wind has been horrendous near corn du. Looks like u got similar. Love the beacons, such a different landscape compared to most. Well done Grace, another great adventure 👏👍
Hi Grace, I've been subscribed to you channel for about half a year now and been really loving your videos! I live on the western slopes of the Malvern Hills near Upper Colwall. It's the perfect place to live as I love walking. I loved your video of the south to north Malvern Hills video. As I'm furloughed I'm now eyeing up the Pen y Fan horseshoe too, looks like an awesome day trip as a solo trip. Keep up your mountain trips, lock down has been a bummer but it's not prevented me from going out to remote places to enjoy the scenery!
Some of my favourite walks included in this video (up to Fan y Big), thank you for sharing and it has given me twitchy feet again and I'm raring to get back out into the Brecon's. Thanks for sharing Grace, great channel, keep up the fab work :)
I did that route the other day and couldn’t see that path on the first climb. There’s a prominent stone track that hand rails the forest block that gets you straight up to the ridge line
Lovely vids Grace! May i suggest the Yorkshire 3 peaks! Stay at the Crown in Horton night before, then walk Pen y Ghent, Ingleboro and Whernside finishing back at the same pub!
Hey Grace another great video as always, looked such an amazing walk and stunning views just a shame about the hail storm Looking forward to the next one hope you have a great Christmas x Stay safe 😀
My contract with the current company is expiring next Wednesday, I will take some rest, meet my family, and then I am planning to go to Wales and after that to Scotland! I want to wild camp, hike, and do all sort of crazy stuff, after that I will have to start looking for a job :)
I've done the "Fan Dance" twice in my army days in 81 and 84 but I plan to do it next year just once more before time finally catches up with me. I don't want to attempt it with that old man with the scythe coming after me.😉
Great video! For me the worst part of winter is the short days rather than the weather. However I'm getting more confident in my night rides. Don't fancy a night hike though 😨
Yes the short days are tough - means an extra early start to make the most of the daylight! Same - happy with night runs in well-lit places but hiking in the dark is not the one 😅
Only just got into your videos. And they have inspired me to go walking. So I’ll be doing this one on Sunday. Any tips on must have equipment for hiking and wild camping? Thank you 😊
Someone suggested you're channel age's ago and sorry I've only just watched now because I come across this video because I'm thinking about doing this at the end of April. I was going to ask how long it took you but you mentioned it in the video thinknit will take me much longer I tend to film too much and I'm very unfit and over weight great video though and a sub from me😁👍
I don’t remember the Fan being that easy… :) But that might be because of the unfeasibly large bergens they made us carry, boots made of cardboard and being sent up and down three times :) 40 years on and I still can’t get my head round the idea of people doing it for pleasure! Well done you :)
@@colinstewart1432 there are people who stick nails through their cheeks in India…sounds pretty much the same to me, and they’re out of the rain too :)
Hi Grace can you recommend any really warm gloves for hiking? I have raynards and can’t bend/use my fingers if they get too cold and struggle every winter 🥲
I've walked up pen y fan a few times but never done the horse shoe route... you should take a look at the skirrid and suger loaf...not far from pen y fan 👍
Recently found your channel and there’s some brilliant trips! Should head over to Llyn y Fan Fach! My favourite walk in Mid/South Wales! Also do the loop over to Llyn y Fan fawr and the peak of Fan Brycheiniog :) And reaaaally sorry to be that person! But a single Y is pronounced more like Uh rather than ee:) also Du is actually pronounced Dee! Confusing! Thanks for the videos!:)
I mostly enjoy the bits where you prop up your camera then walk on a bit only to turn around to get your camera :D Do you make absolutely sure there's noone around when you do that? Must look a bit odd :P Seriously though, enjoy your vids, helped inspire me to get off my arse this weekend.
Loved the video. Feel motivated to not sit at home simply cursing the weather and lack of sunshine during the winter months
Good on ya, getting out & enjoying the outdoors. Enjoyed watching. 👌
Enjoyed you're video, been to Pen-Y-Fan last month and loved the trip!
Just found this film, and a good one it is. I shall be coming with you in the future. Thanks it's a route I did with my family Dave Y
Saying Fan - y - Big with a straight face. Loving your work Grace. Keep it up. 😻
Amazing video grace! In case you ever do it again there is a path that leads up the ridge you would have been on it as you crossed the bridge over the water. Once through the gate it stays close to the trees and takes you all the way up 😊
Great to see you have proper footwear. Congratulations for the hike.

Superb Grace. You got proper winter conditions. But from what I can tell you got back down buzzing. I was buzzing with you. Good going. Mark
Another good video and enjoying the back catalogue 👍. And your eyes are amazing too ✌️😀
Nice video, one of my favourite walks.

Aww haha thank you - it is funny watching me run back so many times for it 😂
@@GracesAdventures just think that drone will save you all that walking back to collect the camera 😉
Done a lot of my selection around there in the 80's love the place.
I am new and I am enjoying your videos. You are a beautiful person, lots of love. Wish I could do these treks.

Taf Fechan car park
Well done Grace another good video weather looks ace 👍
That weather is what walking is all about, it's a challenge from mother nature trying to push you back onto your sofa, don't let her win !
Superb again. Inspired me to get out. Done loads of your routes. Thanks v much 🙌🏼
Ah I’m so glad to hear! Thank you ☺️
Really enjoyed this longer length viseo than your typical videos. The extra time really helps the viewer to get into it as well. Excellent well done and amazing scenery 👍
Bit late to the party - but when plotting an OS route I now also use in conjunction with the satellite view to make sure there is a path to follow!

You are so fashionable and color-coordinated with all your hiking gear! Looks great gal! Good stuff! ^_^
Love Pen Y Fan! The unique geology always fascinates me. Really want to do the Horseshoe, its on my list!
Just discovered your channel and now chain-watching. Love your energy and the enjoyment you clearly get from everything.
Superb video 👍🙂
I would be way too childish not to snigger everytime I mentioned the last summit.
Great video!
Another great adventure.
That weather!

Good work. Did this on Thursday, definitely better in the summer. Cribyn was tough!

Nice one Grace ☘️👍
Love this route. Just brought back some nice memories. Wish I was closer to enjoy it more. Beautiful
What a beautiful area!!!!
So good we’ve done it twice,Waun Fach+dragons back is next on my list...great video 👌🏻
I don’t blame you - I think I’ll do it again in Summer. Thank you!
You hike in some of the most beautiful places! This hike had awesome scenery but seems a bit tame compared to some of your more precarious treks...😄

Great vid Grace! It’s one of my fave hikes. Weather wise that’s Wales for you, so unpredictable. Great views too! 🙌🙌💪🏔
Haha see I don’t always get the good views/weather 😂 awesome day though.
Awesome video, thank you 🤩
My fave mountain range, have you done Waun Fach in the Black Mountains?
Very gentle presentation, really nice Grace....good luck👍typical Welsh weather by the way😂
F is pronounced as a V . That will save you talking about a fanny big. 😊
Fan Y Big! Sorry, had to chuckle. I must visit the Brecon Beacons. Shame I didn't do it 40 years ago when I much fitter.

Hey Grace. Great videos. What camera do you use ?
Where did you park? Love your videos! X
