Put them in a zip lock freezer bag with the grease, work it into the bearings without ever having to touch the grease. Zip it up and save the bag for the next set.
Hate to break it to you, duder, but if a roller bearing comes with a race, that race has been designed to perfectly match that bearing and if you don't use it, you'll immediately exponentially shorten the life of your bearing.
If it's all OEM it should be fine unless the race is worn. I work on industrial equipment. 9/10 the tire is shot, needs to be replaced, repack old bearings if still in good condition, only changing the race if it has wear. We reuse the same races over the course of years and the only time I've seen a bearing damaged was from abuse, getting bands and wood into the bearing.

The main winding was of the normal lotus-o-delta type placed in panendermic semiboloid slots in the stator, every seventh conductor being connected by a non-reversible tremie pipe to the differential girdlespring on the "up" end of the grammeters.

I use the tool for the job. It's called a bearing packer. It keeps from wasting Grease. Nothing professional here....
Can always put the grease back in the can.
Not all of it plus you risk contamination. Last by thing you need in grease is contamination.

I’ve been using a bearing packer for 30 years. Way cleaner and faster. I worked in a trailer repair shop for a number of years and thats all we used.
