I love listening to this genre. My dad struggled with war memories; I remember that he taught classical music to a college town in California. They did not understand his theories about how to create this kind of gloriousness though, and think that is why we moved back to Texas. But he was very serious about his love for this type of music. I came to embrace it when I got older. I miss him so much. God bless you, Zack Stewart (my dad; I love his name!). I do realize why you loved this music so much. It seems that I appreciate it more and more as time goes on. I miss you so much, Dad. God bless you.

Sue Kimmey: So much love for your father...I suppose you were pretty close too? I wish I had been closer to mine. He had his childhood wounds and not learnt emotional contact with himself, and could not nurture my girl-soul to grow freely. Only after his death did I get it properly , that he gave his love for us through all his practical work, help and fixing.I blame(d) myself for not being the humorous, simple kind of daughter he could relate more to. I am grateful for his work-ethic, faithfulness, tenacity and orderliness. He should have set limits to my traumatized mother's abuse though... Were you free of abuse, suppression? - Hope my connecting is OK. I was touched by your loving epitaph of yours.

The way each note blends seamlessly with the next and the way the sound builds and swells to create a lush, emotional landscape is nothing short of mesmerizing. There's something about the sound of a group of violins playing together in harmony that is both soothing and exhilarating, and it's no wonder that this instrument has been a cornerstone of classical music for centuries. Whether you're listening to a solo violinist or a full symphony orchestra, the power and beauty of the sound will leave you in awe.

Beethoven's symphonies don't have any notes which could be improved upon. I wish we could gift him with a happier and less difficult life (as much as you might say that his suffering was an important motivator in his music)
One of my little daydreams are "if I could go back in time for 24 hours with a backpack of stuff, where would I go and what would I bring".
One of my favorites is bringing Beethoven whatever he needs (from what i've read it might be more like surgery than simply hearing aids, but i'm assuming time travel so assuming portable cochlear implants isn't a dealbreaker) such that he can hear PERFECTLY at the premier of the 9th.
Just to give him those couple of hours. I can't even begin to imagine what that would mean to him. There are of course many reports of how incredible his ability to still comprehend music (and compose music) without hearing it at all was, but nothing could replace giving him perfect clarity hearing on the night of the premier of the 9th.
Some said that he was so out of time that the musicians completely ignored his movements, there is another who says that they followed him viscerally and he conducted as if he could hear it all. I have no way to know.
What I do know is that if he had flawless hearing when the - in my opinion very much in the running for top 5 most important and beautiful pieces of music of all time - is first played, being able to hear and conduct without the unimaginable torture which was this particular man becoming stone deaf when a million other people would have been better off in some trade where Ludwig lost his sight, or some other very important faculty, but BEETHOVEN goes stone deaf? What better proof we live in an indifferent universe.

Researchers found that Beethoven's Symphony No. 5 destroyed 20% of cancer cells in lab tests:
Scientists at the Instituto de Biofísica Carlos Chagas Filho, Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, are exploring whether music could play a role in cancer treatment.
Led by Dr. Márcia Alves Marques Capella, the team exposed both healthy and cancerous cell cultures to different music genres. Remarkably, Beethoven’s Symphony No. 5 destroyed about 20% of cancer cells in just a few days, while leaving healthy cells unaffected. A similar effect was observed with György Ligeti’s Atmosphères, though Mozart’s Sonata for Two Pianos showed no measurable impact.
The exact mechanism behind these effects remains unknown, but researchers speculate that rhythm, frequency, or intensity could be key factors. Further experiments, including Brazilian Samba and Funk, are planned to uncover more about this intriguing phenomenon. While the research is in its early stages, it offers a fascinating glimpse into the potential of music as a non-invasive cancer therapy.

This video recording is probably the best one of Beethoven's Symphony No. 5 available. I love the second movement (Andante con moto) of this symphony. Unfortunately, I thought that the orchestra had a rough spot running from about 15:20 to about 15:35 in the that movement. Perhaps I am wrong and that it is the conductor's interpretation of the music at that point.

If only this had received a CD release.. It's a regular on our youtube viewing and since I can download the youtube video to play anywhere I'm reasonably happy, but still wish I had a physical product of it.
