im a casual with a lack of understanding the veracity of a "no hit run", but the moment at 1:21:11 was easy for me to understand it was spliced, its the FP bar before and after burning the sealing tree.
i should add, after watching Gino's reaction, i now have a better understanding of spliced runs

They feel like being the first at doing something means they achieve this untouchable level of greatness. They fail to realize the vast majority of people who play this game don’t care. But they forget that people will flame them forever for lying about them😂
I made the same observation with his FP at that point. don't really care for "world's first" or whatever, but I think it's lame that the title is misleading, saying "Speedrun" when it was different runs put together.
That part of the run is actually real funny enough, It's a bug that happens when you quitout or enter a loadscreen with godricks greatrune active. It will restore a portion of your missing FP as well as HP
What baffles me is that the messmer intro cinematic is the perfect time for a splice (since it puts you in a set position and restarts sound). Assuming that he makes a save file, he can do infinite attempts, without messages, bloodstains and audio splices giving him away.
I was going to send this to Gino. I watched it yesterday and there's no way you'd be playing like this on a no-hit run.

what i noticed about his fake run is that he always seemed to line his character up with a background reference when he sat at a grace, probably so that it was easy to replicate with a splice on another attempt.
You use the black screen for that

Just in case it wasn't clear, every useless grace rest, every weird quit out, every pointless move he does that triggers a black screen is in there because the runner is using save states and splicing footage. Their channel has a lot more cheated and spliced runs
Just found out about this drama, and this was incredibly entertaining to watch. I hate that people try to pull this off, but getting run-reviews like this is some primo entertainment. That's one way to get at least something good out of a bad situation. Great commentary.

That's what happen when you play for other people (to impress, to brag, or to seek external validation), not playing for yourself. I found that Souls series have quite a lot of players types like this. How maidenless.

That guy Niko Bellic, cheating in almost ALL of the no hit/speedrun clips. Godmode and i-frames cheating is strong. Just go and check Lies of P, Armored Core, etc, etc, etc. Even on some platformer/sidescroller games, doing the same. Exactly same as ER clip here. Clearly damaged by hits, yet "magically", everything passing through his hitboxes. And not just that. No aggro cheat, enabled. He had nearly ALL top items within a day or two of the DLC release? Yeh sure and 100% legit.. It's a shame for real, for NH/SR community. And he keep deleting all comments that calling him out for obvious cheating runs. At least people have noticed his ER run. Nearly 7K dislikes, well deserved.
That guy changed his title to say that it’s a segmented run after the stream. He said he didn’t mean to misinform people and he thought his video wouldn’t get much attention even though his previous Elden ring videos got a lot of views. He’s also been speedrunning for eight years and should have known better. I just thought this situation was a little odd
he only did it because he got caught lmao. otherwise why try to pass it off as not-segemented?
His menu speed is way too slow for 8 years of speed running. I am not a professional speed running but my menu-ing after playing and speed run the souls games for years is way faster than his

@@KKKuma he was clearly not very experienced with elden ring speedrunning because he picked up unnecessary items and he didn't know you could use assassins gambit in a no hit

Bloodfiend is still a beast. Lost some scaling so it lost a little bleed but they didn’t change the poise on it.
It’s still like 204 bleed instead of 220. Pretty busted!

Run is clearly fake, but the save on rest is just a lower end pc thing.
No, it saves only if there has been any change in the save
a lower end pc just makes the saving slightly longer, but the saving logic behind is the exact same.

I get the save icon on rest 100% of the time, even if I just stand up from the grace and immediately use it again. Always get it. My pc is basically the minimum required specs, maybe its just slower?
I just noticed it too on my PS5 when I sat down at a new grace.
I’m not contesting whether or not the run was spliced-there’s always a chance a footage is doctored-just wanted to point this out as something that occurs naturally within the game.

I also figured out the ice guy could fall off just randomly once. Definitely good to script into attempts

I do got elden ring icon every grace and new area, not sure why yours don't. Mine is in HDD if that matters

1:38:16 I think I did that strat by accident on my first playthrough. I saw the guy, he looks strong so drank my physick and put on bestial vitality but I got so confused because he's nowhere to be found.

There was another Radahn no hit I saw by someone else that was def using a mod. They seemed to accidentally roll when locked on but they dashed instead of rolling which happens when you use the sekiro mod which also lets you parry. So if you roll when locked on you dash like in Bloodborne. They also tried to pass the parry off as using the new tear but they weren’t the same. I don’t think anyone called him out for it and I didn’t feel qualified enough to but I saw some movement that didn’t make sense and it wasn’t adding up. Seems like a lot of people trying to be the first on this one.
It autosaves on PC also. I know this because of Moghwin palace rune farming

He made a comment saying this run took many many hours of practice (LOL), and yet several times he took the wrong way, on top of facing extra bosses and collecting random items lol
The combinatorial probabilities here are outrageous. Just as an example, let's say during your speed run you have 10 separate trials, each having only a 10% chance of failure. Since we can't easily add probabilities, we can do the inverse - instead of failure, ask ourselves, what are the chances of being successful with a 90% chance, 10 times? That's just .9 * .9...10 times. That's .9^10, which is roughly 35%.
So having a 90% success rate with 10 separate trials means you're only going to get through all 10 35% of the time. OP was doing things with a much higher risk of failure. If you increase the number of trials to 20, you're down to a 12% chance of success.
These numbers are very sensitive to your assumptions about risk. If instead of being successful 90% of the time (for each trial), we're only successful 85% of the time, that lowers our chance of success from 35% to 20% for 10 trials.
I know this run has been thoroughly exposed by now, but the chance taking here is insane.
I get that saving icon when I rest at a grace and am online (not sure if it would happen if I was offline) I'm on ps5 though.
Gino, if you're playing on Xbox one, and or Xbox series X|S you get an auto save every grace.
Gino I don't know if you know this. But for your run if your planning on getting the spirit spring fragment you don't have to go break the stones. Margits or mohgs shackle will break it open for you

Only matters for Rauh ruins, the others all have the rocks in the vicinity.
Kinda strange because I get the autosave icon (pulses thrice when I sit at the grace and when I close the grace menu too) on pc even though I'm playing offline with mods (fps unlocker and camera fix), but I can't seem to change it based on settings xD
I mean, it's just auto save, none of that would turn off auto saves

Dude the parts where he sits in a grace bloodstains around him, and when he wakes they're just gone, or vice versa is SOOOO obvious. Just play offline my G, like actual real runners do. The guy is obviously just there for the views, it isn't even a timer running...
Just adding I tested on console ps5 to be specific, while online and I get the saving logo every time I sit at any grace during that black screen. Not sure if that helps at all.

Gino mentioned something about a jump in Castle Ensis that lets you basically skip to the boss door. I can't find anything online about this, does anyone have a video of the skip?
He was talking about the spirit spring. If you go to the valley south to Ensis you will find a spirit spring which will lead you to Scadu Altus without fighting Rellana.

A few categories allow it but never hitless runs.
For oficial no hit, it normally does ( though you can do for fun a no hit with stuff that is not allowed ), but of course no for speedruns
