Half the reason I picked Raidou over Dante is that Raidou summons demons who otherwise aren't in Nocturne and that's just really cool to me

Because up until now Raidou has been exclusive to the Japanese version in terms of official releases. There are already Radiou skill showcases on RUclips in Japanese.

I love how he summons prominent demons from his games. I wish they were in Nocturne, especially Moh Shuvuu. Also, Gotou’s voice sounds absolutely badass!

Nocturne takes place late 90's into 2000's. Raidou is from the 1920's to 1930's. It makes sense he would have different demons.

@@d.t.b.706 The crackpot timeline theories use random easter eggs or reoccurring ideas, as if it’s proof that the games are connected. The games make much more sense if you see them as standalone titles. Nocturne has its own universe and logic, Strange Journey has its, so on.
You can feel free to disagree... but there’s no canonical proof or statement from the developers that the games are in the same universe
Dante is cool and all but having Raido summon demons to attack is way too charming and amazing for me to choose Dante over Raidou.

@@donaldpowell44 that would ruin thestoryline and make the game too easy plus that would be like having 2 of the same demons at once since raidou and dante are the same basically just different skins
there is a way to have both of them in your party. search for smt3hd cheat engine. With that, you can edit your personas to be anyone from the whole game.

I'll say it again, i love how none of these demons that Raidou summons for his exclusive skills, are able to be fused in nocturne
Sure Dante has swag and charisma but I crave more for that badass style of a man using Yoshitsune as an ally.

Persona Users are just Diet Devil Summoners. Especially next to Raidou "I beat up a battleship that became a Mecha with my Katana" Kuzunoha the 14th. This man was MGR Raiden before Raiden was even a cyborg.

Ok, I know Raidou is badass and everything, but how the hell can he tell which demon is in which tube? Like if it was me and I was a Devil Summoner, I would probably end up accidentally summoning something like Pixie when I instead needed Jack Frost. Would kind of make me feel like Ben (Ben 10) in a way, only instead of a watch that could transform me into aliens I'd have small tubes containing mythological figures.

The same way Pokemon Trainers can tell one Pokeball from another: Don't question it, they just know.

@@projectmessiah I was expecting that in The Lone Marebito manga, he would at least carry the summoning tubes in different parts of his clothes to tell which tube has which demon.
That ended up not being the case, however. There is one summoning tube that for some reason, he hides under one of his legs. And its the one containing Moh Shuvuu.

@@atom4532 I don't think the art style is the problem. Rather, it's that they just copied his model from DMC2. Now for a PS2 game running on a CRT monitor with the crappy PS2 motion blur this looked fine, but emulated on an HD computer monitor or played on the Switch the difference in shading is actually visible

The reason you can't get any of Raidou's demons is that he caught them before you could recruit them.
Raidou is good and everything. But I prefer Dante. I mean, he fits well with the "Devil Summoner" area. He reminds me on SMT 1 where you not only have the Hero, but the Light and Dark one. The three together (Demi Fiend, Dante and Raidou) would be like that. But needs 2 more slots. Which means 6 demons (as the original one).
Those are Law Hero and Chaos Hero.

P5 strikers was clunky as fuck, if they ever remake the game in the striker style I hope they rework the combat from the ground up

@@GetterRay I think he meant keep the framework of the P5S engine, but reduce the enemy crowds (max 5 demons per fight or something) and increase overall damage and HP.

I hope I don’t sound like a basic b, but I read “Boogie Woogie” and my mind went to Aoi Todo from Jujutsu Kaisen. And then the real life music genre both moves are definitely named after, but yeah.
So they changed Raidou the Aeon to Raidou the Eternal. I wonder why?

I think its because due to the nature of the Raidou title, theres usually going to be a Raidou Kuzunoha doing work somewhere in Japan. Also probably a reference to how Raidou gets different titles in his own games

Considering all the crap you have to do to get Raidou/Dante and the fact that you're buffing your opponent's ATK when you use it (which admittedly I don't think matters too much in the late game since the endgame bosses prefer magic to physical on top of Dekaja clearing the ATK buff), it deserves to be OP.
Would have been nice of the Skill description to mention that.

Kinda sad that they are reskins of Dante's moves, but Raidou adds some flare to them and makes them his own. They could have at least given him his own music tho. That song was *made* for Dante

@@moyaiman4182 Are you kidding or what? The blows he deals in "Enter yoshitsune" are from Dante's Rebellion, "Tekisatsu" is literally Raidou performing Dante's Stinger and "Mokoi Boomerang" is the same as Round Trip just with a boomerang instead of Rebellion.

Just a tidbit of lore knowledge: the Raidou games do take place in the Persona universe (which includes SMT If..., Soul Hackers, and Devil Summoner) in fact Raidou is the main reason the Persona timeline even exists due to him stopping the Great Cataclysm in his timeline by traveling back in time to alter certain course of events that prevent the apocalypse from ever occurring.

All it really took is change a single formula.
Builds in general needed a look at. Demifiend doesn't get any of the best support skills, magic is fucked up, luck pretty much doesn't do anything, they really phoned this remaster in.
@@thomaswood8405 well, at least magic is affected by Pierce. So a Wind Cutter / Magma Axis build is viable.
More skill variety would have been welcome, indeed.
The only redeeming change is choosable skills. It is so quality of life, it's really making up for everything else.
@@user-ky1sk7kr6t I dunno about "viable." I mean you can beat the game with it, but it's just worse than phys for no upside. Pierce also only affected physical in the original. Was it changed to include magical in the remake?
@@thomaswood8405 they added it in the Chronicles version, so I assume they took the Chronicles version as the base and it should also work in the Remaster.
It should say 'Pierced!' just like with a physical attack. The guy who made the video should have leveled him enough for the 'Raidou the Eternal' ('Raidou the Aeon') skill to make a proper demo.
Nobody seems to have covered this, but it is a pretty important detail.
It may still not be as strong as physical attacks, but it is stronger than unfocused physicals if you have the fire or wind elemental boost for those 2 magic skills.
Magma Axis is pretty solid. ~700 damage with no buffs on level ~120.
@@user-ky1sk7kr6t Well if that's true, that's not bad. I still just don't see any benefit over a phys build. I wish they had just given him normal spells so you could actually take advantage of elemental weaknesses during normal encounters.
Also if they just merged taru/makakaja since most of your early game oomph for bosses is from abusing dark/bright might.
Why skill same as Dante :v
Since the original Maniax version was out of stock because of copyright issues, Atlas had to replace Dante to their own character so they can reproduce Shin Megami Tensei 3 Nocturne Maniax without any copyright issues. That’s the reason why most of the Raidou’s skills are reskinned version of Dante(except while Dante has intimidate, Raidou has mediation for the conversation skill).
