Funny thing is, Wiki states that Boogie-Woogie is undodgeable. Both as an enemy and a summonable ally, yet I dodge the move here. Maybe that should be updated?

I am extremely excited to see it. The trailer included voices so I don't know if the final product will have them as well. In all honesty I would prefer no voices in Nocturne, but that's just me.

They have confirmed that voices can be switched off in the settings. (In a magazine interview.)

@@rockpaul12 aside from Hideto (Megaten 2 protag), Aleph, and MAYBE Demi-fiend and Abel (if you count Abel as a messiah even though he isn't mainline) dont all messiahs technically fail? Their ultimate goal is to kill YHVH, who's basically god. Aside from the 4 previously mentioned, it isnt even IMPLIED that they kill god. They just, straight up dont.

It makes sense, though. Dante has the Devil Trigger, Raidou has the ASPECT RAIDOU.
Yeah, I came looking for this clip to see if they'd changed the battle music for something original. I do think this is the best track in the game, but I guess I'm greedy.

@@Kanzuki Why not tho? A harmless cameo by Dante wouldn't harm SMT5 in the slightest. On the contrary, it would bring in more fans and make the game more popular. And mainline SMT desperstely needs it with Persona apparently taking over Atlus more and more with each succesfull release.
Seriously, just look at how many Persona games and how many SMT games have been released over the last 10 years. And no, Persona is not a subseries of SMT, they only added the moniker in the western release.

Thanks for the English version of this scene. I don't have that one so I actually battled Dante. Personally, I like them both so I won't be bitching about who's better; although out of the three the Demi-Fiend is pretty goddamn powerful.
No problem :). Planning on uploading the other scenes with Raidou and his after credits report as well. Both Raidou and Dante are awesome characters in their own ways, though personally I prefer Raidou being in Nocturne just because MegaTen :P

Great screen name Megido Doll. I'm English and going to play this game for the first time. Other than the Dante & Raidou switch up are there any other changes? I'm leaning towards the English Shin Megami Nocturne version. I know the version you posted is English patched but I'm guessing that is fan translated. I also understand they have a Europe version called: Lucifers Call. From what I understand Lucifers call is just the English version of Nocturne without any difference other than the name. Anyway I'm just not sure which version to play for the first time. Thanks for any help and love your video. Subscribed.
other then Raidou Replacing Dante there aren't many other changes but one important thing to know (assuming you plan to get the True Demon ending.) Is that Raidou has the pierce ability while Dante does not, and if you aim to have an easier time with Lucifer or you know, wan't to do more then 50 damage, your going to wan't pierce. Its sad because Dante is so bad ass that I kept him in my party anyway, even though he was only doing about 150 damage at most while the rest of my party was hitting for about 900+
@@sonofthunder7069 Late as all hell, but in addition Raidou being able to pierce while Dante can't, the TDE ending has an additional scene of Raidou going back to his universe and reporting on what happened. It's not much but it is a neat attention to detail for a re-release.

It made sense for Dante cause his guns are called ebony and Ivory hence his move called E&I but why raidou called his boogie woogie
Most likely the gun was shot at the feet of demons making them dance silly out of fear

It's kinda jarring for Atlus to not change the introduction music for Raidou since the one in both games has DMC3's motif prominently featured and kinda makes the entire scene feel weird.

Somehow I just have a feeling that bayonetta 3 is going come out in just a few months after smt3 release. And you will see her design that comes out in 3.
I seem to be having some trouble with the patch, when ever I try to patch the iso all it does it create another file, doesn't seem to actually patch the iso
If I remember correct, the new file it creates is the patched iso, have you tried booting up the one it creates?
yeah but the file it made wasn't an iso, though I did get it working in the end, just took about 3 attempts. But hey I'm up to Forneus and everything seems to be checking out okay, graphics in the game are just a bit wonky, everything is either see through or textures are overlapping (thats probably just the emulator though)
Rendering the game in Hardware mode caused me to have transparent textures and such. Switching over to Software mode fixed this issue, but it does cause the video to become compressed, as if you're actually running the game on a PS2.
well that certainly sounds better then the see through textures (though I do have to wonder if it would make the kawain segment a breeze >w>) anyway thanks for the tip, got the true demon ending on the original game though I was a bit upset they give you Dante when he can hardly do jack all to Lucifer himself, though I heard its a rather different story with Raidou
Fun fact, you can use your normal saves with the Maniax Chronicles edition, so you don't have to start a fresh game in order to get Raidou.

Apart from the cape and various demon summoning/slaying equipment, it's basically a standard Gakuren - a Japanese male school uniform. It's no surprise it looks similar to a police uniform though - the Gakuren is derivative of the military uniform worn by modernised armies only some years before Raidou's game's are set, and police uniform of the time had a very similar, if not identical style to military uniforms (other than colour) at the time.

Other than the translation the game is untouched, it seems that the wiki is indeed wrong about the accuracy of the skill. Probably should have someone go in and fix this.

The best Raidou fight is soul hackers in my opinion because I found it harder than Demi fiend in DDS
You can inject SMT:Nocturne into ps4 (via ps2 remaster)... but this particular translation crashes! Valkyrie Profile 2 doesn't work right either. :(

@@projectmessiah So, if you have a hacked ps4, you can take a ps2 classic, remove the original and swap any other ps2 game into the container and run it. Very high success rate.

Gouto isn't a simple cat however. He takes the form of a cat, but is actually Radiou's advisor. Much like Morgana but a lot better and more likeable.
It's a reference to how almost all MegaTen protags don't speak, including Raidou in his own games.
Instead Gouto does the speaking here.
Also, Gouto is way more than just a speaking cat, but going into details would be spoilers for the Raidou games
Man I hate the battle theme though. I remembering starting this version hoping for a remix of Raidou's battle theme and getting Dante's copy and pasted.

Well, the remaster got announced. But only Raidou will be in it, Capcom might have asked for more money to include Dante so Atlus passed on it.

In this case, Dante is well known in the West. So Capcom would be asking quite a lot.

When the license expired, Atlus decided to include one of their own characters to take his place in later versions of SMT3.

Hey has anyone realized that raidou is a persona user but with demons seriously he uses them just like personas he’s also a wild card too why has no one said anything about this?
Raidou is a Devil Summoner. He keeps the demons in a tube and usually takes them out to help in investigations. He's quite chill with demons, actually. Personas basically tie into your characteristics, and only summoned with a special mean. Summoning Demons for Raidou, you can say, is a second nature to him.
Raidou is a Devil Summoner, his games are literally titled “Devil Summoner”.

Why did he replace Dante
In all likelihood, the original Dante cameo contract didn't cover updated re-releases of the game. Besides that, it was also a good opportunity for them to advertise Raidou's games - one of which came bundled with this release.
Because thety are too lazy to bring back dante and replace by the boring and silent detective raidou,a very bad decicion if you ask me

Isn't it a bit of a BS that they gave this character, Raidou any form of practicality in the game while when they had Dante in the 2nd release of SMT3 Nocturne Maniax he barely have any usefulness? Making me to have an opinion that they just added/featured Dante in the 2nd Maniax just for the sake of being there so the game could sell a lot. In other words, Dante got wasted by Atlus in their game, and they made him to just be as merch/selling point for it.

Raidou was added after Dante, so they probably saw that Dante wasn’t as useful, specially against Lucifer and fixed that for Raidou
Canonically Raidou is supposed to accidentally kill the Demi-Fiend for SMT IV to happen, so he is kinda meant to be the one from the timeline perspective; though Dante was pretty wasted
Why people says that Dante isn't useful? I use him a lot for random encounter. Honestly if he not there i can't finish nocturne on hard mode lmao because annoying enemy with high critical. Level up Dante from 80 to 89 and he just one level behind from MC lmao. He is very useful!

The thing in SMT4 AP is what if the protagonist fails like at the end of the DLC you even see Demi talk about his showdown with him after they beat the boss in SMT4AP

Hell, not every SMT title is even on the same timeline; that's why there are multiple endings
Demi-Fiend getting whacked by Raidou is canonical for SMT4A
Then again, that description is basically the everything is canonical route, but specifically for SMT4A it is what was canon for that; that and we also know that regardless of if he gets whacked then or not he still fails to beat god (thanks Digital Devil Saga); where the true Demon Ending is tied to that game
It is stupid in hindsight, but as is the time Shenanigans of PQ and how ridiculous tracing paths between each SMT game can be (including spin offs).
Also sorry if I came across as harsh starting this reply; it just is funny sometimes with franchises like SMT or Drakengard where basically every ending (and even ones not featured) are canon and some people forget that.
