- Life inside a coffin is a lonely one indeed, but it gave Mot ample time to surf GameFAQs. During his quest for video game nirvana, he discovered an interesting little spell known as Beast Eye; a move which creates extra turns from nothing.

Since this vid is still getting comments all these years later, I thought I'd answer a few common questions/complaints:
*Your team sucks, of course you lost*

*This boss is completely broken*
Kind of. Being able to create infinite turns is a hell of a gambit, but stacking Sukukaja buffs on your team is a pretty hard counter. In this clip I believe only Matador was at max evasion, which is why Mot keeps landing his Megidolaons.

I remember beating this guy first attempt after about an hour of exploring beforehand too. It was a very intense fight which took the best part of an hour easily. Finally managed to get him but I was killed by a random encounter on the way back to the save point -.-
That's just the pure Nocturne experience right there.

Most people do, but the amount of things that could go wrong in one encounter is sky high
You know, there are few things about bosses and minibosses I hate.
1) constantly healing themselves
2) constantly calling for help because they know they can't win by themselves
Mot is a category of his own, he is the example of "The enemy you'll only beat when the game decides you've had enough torture"
And then you make a second run of the game for a different ending.
He's not half that hard.
If you frequently remove Makakaja and force him to use Dekunda he will never enter this loop. The AI only does this if you focus entirely on offense
An optional boss in _Epic Battle Fantasy 5_ reeks of both of the above--permanent regen effect (on top of massive HP pool) and calls in tanky, hard-hitting turrets and bombs. Not many EBF bosses can get tougher...

I don't know why, but I found it kind of amusing that the only demon who even semi-reliably survived Mot's barrage was Matador, who is himself an infamously difficult boss.

Pack it up everyone, they fixed Mot's AI in the remaster so he doesn't do this anymore. Mot's drama has officially ended
Nope, his AI is the same it's just he never did this often. Basically, Mot is the only boss where Beast Eye is actually in his pool and not to some extent scripted to prevent the possibility of this happening when the RNG spirals out of control.
These incidents aren't common but they were observed enough to become a meme, that spread virally to the point where people thought it happened more often than it did when they played the remaster. But it is still possible because the remaster didn't actually adjust his AI, the rate this happened was overstated and blown out of proportion.
So in IV Apocalypse's DLC extension of the bonus dungeon, Mot is a regular enemy. He has three moves: Makakaja, Antichthon (a stronger Megidolaon that also Debilitates under the right circumstances), and a move no other enemy or boss in Apocalypse has: Guardian's Eye, which is just Dragon Eye under a different name. In other words, some madlad decided to buff Mot's moveset and make him a normal enemy.
That's it I am thoroughly convinced ATLUS runs off the suffering of its players
Not only that but in the smt mobile game mot has two passives that give him extra turns, atlus is fully aware of the meme.

You know if they changed the ai just a little everyone whos in these comments saying this fight is easy or simple would be screwed cause beating certain bosses almost requires having to exploit their A.I like when you debuff a boss they always waste a turn getting rid of your debuffs if they got rid of that and all he ever did was beast eye, magic up, megidolan, beast eye, etc... itd be rip

...Well, yeah. That's how finalized AI is done.
It's actually pretty easy to program AI to do everything right to kill the player. It's programming them to perform fuzzy logic so they are actually beatable that's tough. This is the case for all genres of videogames, too. Not just turn-based RPGs.
And that's just how SMT is. Everything is against you. Want to win? Beat the system.

How are you supposed to deal with this? Mot gets basically four full turns before you can use a single pressturn
Yeah this boss is pretty notorious. I think they'll nerf him a bit in Merciful difficulty though.
There's even one video worse than this, Mot is getting turns in two minutes almost lmao.
If you debuff him, he'll waste a turn removing his debuff, bring a demon with zio and he's pretty screwed. He's pretty RNG tho, he didnt beast eye much against me.
Sukukaja is your best friend, Beast Eye means nothing if you dodge his attacks
The hilarious thing is.... It could be worse. The fact that this fight could be worse (from an RNG perspective) is just amazing. Dragon Eye is a thing that also exists in Nocturne. It does the same thing as Beast Eye, except it Converts one Turn (or Press Turn) into *FOUR* Press Turns, compared to Beast Eye's Two Press Turns.
The thought of Mot having Dragon Eye simultaneously makes me laugh to no end while also giving me nightmares about it since well... it would be the above video, except Mot would probably try to just bury you in Press Turns instead of obliterating you with Megidolaon's. Wouldn't be the first time someone's literally been defeated solely by the power of spamming press turns. (Someone has literally had an enemy spam dragon eye non-stop until it crashed their game before. Turns out there is such a thing as "Too many Press Turns".)
Ok I got the jist of this fight, basically make Mot waste turns by debuffing and dekaja’ing him, making him recast his buffs instead of using Beast Eye, then beat his ass

Smt is supposed to be like the dark souls of rpg's though so the difficulty is to be expected
Bullshit. When you get stunlocked in a Souls game it's because you went somewhere stupid or aggro'd too many enemies at once, or let yourself get surrounded. Factors within your control. In this game getting stunlocked is the matter of the game rolling dice. There is no excuse for game design like this!
Look man ill be straight with you its rng and exploitation that makes these games possible to win you have to force the enemy to waste turns due to ai and then exploit the living crap out of their weakness to win

Levels don't really mean shit in this game if you don't think before fusing. Also, not all of the bosses are like this, and Mot goes down pretty quickly if you have even a single lightning attack.

everybody brings mot and matador but nobody talks about that boss in in amala temple who reduces hp 1 and goes for the kill
Aciel? That guy is a chump since all he does is use physical attacks. Sol Niger (the one that drops our party's HP to 1) is the only non-physical damaging ability he has and he won't use it if everyone is at 1 HP. All you have to do is use Tetrakarn/Attack Mirror and Taunt (or any debuff if you want) and you can beat him without throwing a single attack or ability. You basically get him to kill him.
FYI, Taunt is good, since it increases his damage while decreasing his defense. That, combined with physical reflect, means he's hitting himself even harder. I even uploaded a video where I beat him by doing nothing but Taunt and use Tetrakarn/Attack Mirror (with occasional MP restores).
I always found Mot funny. Just because you can kill him in about 8 rounds if you know what you are doing.
