- The release of body-camera footage showing the fatal shooting of Dexter Reed Jr. during a deadly traffic stop in Chicago last month has left some family members and activists questioning.
Video released Tuesday showed the moment gunfire erupted during the traffic stop in which plainclothes officers killed Reed after he opened fire, wounding one of them. Officers responded with more than 90 gunshots fired in less than a minute.

Here's the deal it was an unjustified stop by the tactical team whom obviously needs more training because shoving guns in someone's face is a reason to get shot at period whether the gun is legal or not. They escalated the situation to make him feel scared for his life it should not have happened this way. I think they pulled him over for another reason other than the seatbelt. I think that will determine how they get disciplined (not charged). The cop who shot him after he was outside the vehicle and unarmed will likely get charged.

@@MSPROV0CATEUR Probably not because it was an active shooting. Police are trained to shoot until the threat is neutralized. If you fire at a cop and then run out of a vehicle. The cop doesn't have to stop and try to find the gun you just shot. That would get officers killed. I know it's hard for some people to understand but shooting at police is very dangerous. Especially when you are surrounded by them. This was textbook. Hate it if you want. Maybe start teaching your children to not shoot at police and this would have never happened. It's the driver's fault he is dead. The stop is a pretextual stop. When criminals continue to do crime, police follow them around and wait for traffic violations to stop them. This is a crime deterrent. It's how they get dangerous criminals back off the streets. I'm sure you prefer criminals riding around with weapons. Then when they kill someone you love, it's also the police's fault for not doing something sooner. Right?

Were they charging him with having an illegal gun or illegally being in possession of a gun? Has the city said? @@charliepiland3285 my understanding is the family wanted the body cams released and it shows he shot one of the officers and then they unloaded on him. The officer was in good condition-shot on the wrist/arm.
Weapons tactical unit had him under surveillance because he was out on bond for a previous gun charge and they got a tip that a felon had a gun. They used the premise of a traffic stop to stop him but since he knew he had a weapon on him and getting arrested while out on bond on gun charges, he would go back to jail. This sounds like suicide by cop to me.
