WHOAH! Ween?!? One of my favorite groups ever and what my username is based on? The Mollusk album (that this song is title track of) is one of my favorite albums ever. The whole album goes together very nicely in a sorta dark dank marine vibe. It's so great, hope you'll do more.
+1
Did you ever make a flan and crush it in your hand ? Oh no, say it ain’t so.
Hell yeah!
Ween is great. One of their best songs, in my opinion, is The Argus off of their Quebec CD.
The Argus is one of their best. Kinda proggy
The Mollusk is arguably Ween's best album, depending on who you ask. At the very least it's the best gateway into Ween and I *highly* recommend you explore the rest of this masterpiece.
Quebec, Chocolate and Cheese, 12 Golden Country Hits, and The Mollusk are all fantastic albums.
@@ajschroetlin2196 “White Pepper, Cucaracha, Pure Guava. All great albums. And those EPs are good too.
the pod is their best
@@foreignmilk5589 first person ever to say this
@@foreignmilk5589I would have bought the whole album just for pollo asada.
I love the weirdness of Ween! From the first time I heard Pushing Little Daisies I was hooked. I bought their Guava album and enjoyed the cleverness of their use of distorting their voices to make well, odd cool music!
Nice, a little Ween.
They have so many different styles and cover so many genres that you really have to check out a lot of their work to understand them. But it's well worth your time, imo. Uber talented individuals.
I once stood in line for 8 hours to see a free Ween show, in Fort Collins, Colorado. Only to be denied as I made it to the 2nd spot in line. 😢 Fire department said they were at capacity. This was a MySpace promotion, yes MySpace, and they only announced it the night before.
I've seen them in other venues and they put on a heck of a show. You should watch some live videos of them.
Ween is group with multiple personalities. I remember Beavis and Butthead watching Push the Little Daisies. The sell out venue fast every time the come to town. Loyal followers.
Ween!!! You're pissing up a rope here! Haha. More Gene & Dean Ween is highly recommended. Peace & bivalves forever.
Seconding the Buckingham Green suggestion.... it rocks, super crunchy rhythm guitar hook
Yeah, the live in Chicago video would be really cool for him to check out.
They also released the best country album every.
Such a good album. You Were The Fool, Powder Blue, Fluffy, Mr... ummm, ya great album.
FINALLY Weeeeeeeeen!!!!!
Thank You
Thank You
Thank You
THANK YOU!!!!!!
Ween is pretty hard to define. They often don’t even sound like the same band from song to song. I bought all their albums and saw them live countless times. They started out making four track cassette recordings of funny and freaky song bits and then they evolved but never took themselves seriously. They wear their fondness for weird old psych and Prog rock on their sleeve. A great body of work you never know what you will get and they have a wonderful sense of humor, they even made a straight up classic Nashville style country album but live those songs could be performed as a heavy psych doom metal epic. Ween is fun. Maybe try their song “Gabrielle”. People recommend so many different song because they have so many good ones and they are genre defying with great lyrics. Go ahead and listen to more Ween, a very rewarding experience. You can go from laughter to Oh God nooo! To a rocker and back again. Ween is a trip, they even took the Butthole Surfers fishing. They are currently on tour and are great live.
The song “Transdermal Celebration” has a wonderful animated video.
Ween is truly under respected. Buckingham Green has a little more punch(from the same album)
This is a great album! I would also highly recommend two other albums of theirs: Quebec and La Cucaracha. I love Ween, not only because their music is so unusual and eclectic but mainly because they have such an amazing grasp of melody and song structure, which few people ever comment on. Admittedly they developed this talent a bit later in their career, and I really didn't like their early records as much, which to me were more about strangeness than greatness. Having said that, this is a super band making great music that always pushes the envelope.
Never heard of 'em. Weirdly cool. Creative in the extreme. I would never hear stuff like this if I didn't subscribe to DDR.
If you like this you should really get into their catalog. They do everything from heavy metal and punk to country to rock to Cartoon themes. Their song Ocean Man was used by Sponge Bob. 😁
@@ajschroetlin2196 very few bands are as much fun to listen too. I wish I could listen to them for the first again. Yeah go for it.
OHHH! NO WAY. love this group.
I've not heard nearly enough Ween. Their album with which I'm most familiar is Quebec, so my recommendations start with "Happy Colored Marbles" and "Zoloft".
“Mister Would You Please Help My Pony?” is the track that got me hooked into Ween the very first time I heard it.
“Tick,” “Back to Basom,” and “I Don’t Want to Leave You on the Farm” are top shelf too.
Aaron Freeman (Gene Ween)’s solo album, FREEMAN is flat out beautiful and has a track called “El Shaddai” I’d love for you to react to, or just give a listen to.
And one last thing, keep up the great work, mang.
These guys are definitely an incredibly underrated band. "Baby Bitch" is another great track.
Pure Guava is a masterpiece of originality. You have to be open to a lOttle bit of weirdness to appreciate it. Stallion part 3 might be the greatest strangest song ever. Touch My Tooter with its classic rock cliches like "bring me home" are too funny. Next do Chocolate and Cheese, which is probably their most accessible, while still maintaining the oddity of their first 3. White Pepper from 2000 is their first " normal" album, with subtle humor and much more palatable to people who didn't like Pure Guava and the Pod.
Ween is the SHIT! Loved your reaction. Their catalog is through the roof!
I agree that this is a good way into Ween's music. It is a quirky, yet catchy and easily digestible track. Early Ween is pretty 'far-out' and lo-fi; also be warned that they have a non-PC humour and sometimes possibly offensive lyrics. I love Ween for being musical chameleons. They don't take themselves seriously, but actually have a great love for all the genres they tap into!
BTW, there was a weird noise in this video - It was a Ween track 😁
That’s all true.
Ween is the TRUTH...in my top 3 bands of all time. Try "Buckingham Green" from the same album. This album is Ocean inspired. Anything LIVE from this band is a treat.
One of my most beloved albums 🐚
Listen to MUTILATED LIPS off the same album. My favorite WEEN song, very Pink Floyd mixed with Lovecraft! Also, check out THE BLARNEY STONE. A different take on a traditional Irish pub song!
Claude Colman has been their drummer since 1992.
Thank you, thank you, thank you. Great reaction. Maybe try their song “Chocolate Town” or “Spirit 76” or “Happy Colored Marbles”, Too many good ones to suggest just one. Do em all lol.
Love Ween, so varied and bizzare!
Here's the catch, they absolutely SLAY live.
You just opened up some door my friend, enjoy ween!
Spinal meningitis. Boys club. The entire country album.
WEEN is like The Beatles that no one heard of, so many great songs so many great albums yet very few know that name WEEN
Ween Transdermal Celebration is a suggestion. Carne Asada by Ween is another suggestion. I have seen them twice in concert.
A good starting point for that lovely bit of musical chaos that is Ween. This particular track always gave me XTC / Robyn Hitchcock vibes. To add to the recommendations list, I'd suggest "I Can't Put My Finger On It"
Thank you for bringing us a BROWN reaction from WEEN! 🤎
T.S.McPhee The Hunt • ruclips.net/video/BRIUUBlFVZ8/видео.html 19:09 minutes
is a single psychedelic art rock electronic composition in four movements, featuring Arp 2600 Synthesizers, Electric Piano and The Rhythm Ace Drum Synthesizer. Entitled The Hunt, it explores McPhee's strong stance against Fox and Stag-Hunting.
This album is probably in my top 10 albums. "Mutilated Lips" is a trip of a song off this album. Ween is known loosely as "Shroom Rock", so the lyrics can be very VERY odd.
Check out Ween's The Final Alarm public access tv video shows a band that loves to play
No one song can sum up Ween. So many great songs but as far as albums go The Mollusk is brilliant and was the inspiration behind the show "Spongebob Squarepants"
Omg yes. Ween is the best.
Test question: what are the three things that will spur the mollusk from the sand? A true Ween fan must know this without a cheet sheat.
Well, now I have to buy this one too!
Steven hillenberg said without this album there would have been no spongebob.
Thought I knew what to expect from Ween, then I heard Gabrielle.
A LOT to get into here.
Have you ever reacted to anything by Jason Mraz. “Common Pleasure” is a good scat song.
Dene and Gene for president! Any time really..
Check out Spinal Meningitis!!!
Ween
Not bad...
Nice Daniel , but what about the Rag N Bone Man ? .......... : > P
Please Please do Back To Basom My Fav Ween Song.
With Ween, one track isn’t even close to giving you a clue what they do. You’ve at least gotta listen to a full record to start to piece it together
I know that you are doing your best fixing up
On what you want to share. If you can give me the notice because I been reading a book on my phone, what do you like to Read? I like murder she wrote books a writer maned Marry Higgusis Clark
Spinal meningitis (got me down)
Get trashed (preferably a can of Duster) and put on The Pod lmao
Edit: Throw in a box of triple C's too😆
I really wish I would have introduced my wife to this album instead of “Piss up a rope”…she won’t listen to them…
Umm no so sorry
What's your idea of good music?
