I've seen a lot of bands forget their own lyrics. It happends to pretty much every band eventually. Guitarists play wrong notes sometimes too, nobody's perfect every night on stage.
its called falsetto, or head voice, pretty much you sing from your head, if you are actually singing, you can tell where your voice is coming from at the time, as it gets higher, it tends to move up, it may break and then you can sing higher at a different point, that is usually called falsetto
@tholden84 if you don't like watching them live, then you don't like the band. How can you appreciate something so sterile and unnatural for the musicians as a studio recording? Sure, it sounds better and the instruments are mixed better, but live versions come across much more honest and raw. No studio trickery or anything like that in a live show.

Live version suck? Live is the best way to listen to song. Listen to a CD if you feel that way. RUclips is for live versions. Just find live versions with good audio.
