Wow Mark Knopfler’s voice sounds so natural and clear, i’ve heard so many positive things about the B1+ that i have been thinking about getting them myself. I don’t have a high budget so these seem like very good for the money :)
I just purchased the TA-100, B1+, SE8 combo. They sound SO nice together. As enjoyable as listening to my Stealth 8s. I'm an Emo fanboy. Hard not to be.
Your video gives me confidence, in my possible purchase of a pair of the Emotiva B1+, and their BasX A-100 stereo-amp, which (if I buy) will be fed, with my MOTU M2 audio interface. Thanks! :-)
I can sense the effortless nature of the treble. I "get" it now. Thank you for making this video. (The only con I could think of is that it does sound slightly recessed and thin. Could need a tad more bass to flesh out the body.)
Does this ribbon tweeter smooth out the sibilance in the highs (a good thing, IMO)? It seems to be doing that here, as I've heard this song before on various speakers. I want to pick up a pair. Only downside being that I'd have to put them closer to a corner wall than i'd like in my setup.
This is as clear as it gets without becoming sibilant. I believe the transient response and different distortion of this type of tweeter prevent that, As you push it harder it seems to lose detail but not become sibilant, contrary to a soft dome tweeter. Placing them closer to the wall result in slight boominess, but if all you listen to is rap, hard rock, it wont affect it too much. These are designed to sound like studio monitors, and bass must be done through a sub.
@@audioseeker6850 That's exactly what I'm going for with the treble. I'm sensitive to sibilance, or overly bright speakers. Ear fatigue kicks in very early, and I have to stop listening sometimes for hours. It was going to be between these and an amp, or the Adam T5V's. It seems like these would sound better. Erin's Audio Corner did find some resonance in the cabinet with his measurements, but overall liked the sound. So far I picked up a pair of KRK Rokit RP5G4 studio monitors for my PC, as rear ported just won't work in my setup. Even with the treble EQ'd down, they are a bit bright/sibilant for my ears. I will probably be picking up the Emotiva's once I can rearrange my listening room to better accommodate them.
thinking about buying these speaker for my next upgrade. I want to get them if Emotiva has a Holiday special sale lol. If they even do special sales . But I might just buy them in the near future. Heard alot of good reviews on them.
They sound very bright to me, very hot treble!..but for the price I guess they are ok if you like that house sound, but I think there are better choices!
I like what you tried to do here. There is too much reflection from your room though . I swapped between the actual song and your offering and that's how I heard the differences. I'm looking into these speakers. I have a ton of older speakers that I've upgraded over the years... Time for a change. Are you running a subwoofer? They do sound decent. There is just too much room blending and reflection for me to judge.
Purchased a Rythmik LV12F subwoofer to accompany these speakers. Im using a USB condenser microphone with a EQ to get it as close to the way the speakers sounded in real life. They are light in bass, but sound very tight. Treble is well extended (more detailed and smoother than a soft dome tweeter). Emotiva TA-100 to power them. Room is 10x8, carpeted and window shade shut, the echo you hear is the actual folded ribbon tweeter recreating the studio/room the song was recorded it. Actual reverb from the music itself, quite detailed.
@@audioseeker6850 I am hearing more and more about that brand. Out of all that are crossing my path... These come across as fast. I just caved in and bought the KEF Ls50 Meta after enjoying the Q150's. I was looking to upgrade my old slow but low Sony Sub. I think I'll have to dig deep to this combo... Thanks for the info!
Just listened to same song on polk tsi 100 bookshelf- sounds just as good than the emotivas your displaying, for way less money, do sound test battle to confirm.
Folded ribbon technology is able to recreate higher frequencies than a similarly priced aluminum dome tweeter. You may have similar midrange, but your treble extension will not be as high as folded ribbon.
@@PriyvratTiwari Would be worth testing with a less weird recording in that case? I'm not sure this track (although you may know it intimately) does much to help others make a decision.
One of the best sound demos of the Emotiva B1+, thanks for that!

Very clear and transparent sound , if the sound is so good on my Samsung s20 plus mobile speakers, in reality it should be mind blowing!
I picked up the UB5 (first version) when they were on clearance. I like these a little better. Very open and lively sound.
I have these and they are inspiring! Nuff said.......

Purchased an LV12F to help with that :)
The go-to song for speaker Schwing!
Can´t decide between these or Kefs Q150s...
Decisions...😁
