★The bass test/ low band test should sound deep and not distorted
★The Mid band test should sound clear and nice
★The High band test/ treble sounds should sound very clear, articulated and light, not distorted or blurry or messy, you should hear high drum sounds clearly.
★The Frequency band test should sound like a clear and nice sine wave curve all of the sounds you can hear.
★For the quality test, it mostly checks that your amplifier does not destroy your sound, if you have a cheap Class D anmplifier it might mess with your sound, to do this full test download this test here (this exact video but with better audio than RUclips can have): www.mediafire.com/file/1bj3b5... EDIT: Thanks a lot for one million views, that is awesome! :D
Do u know how the mpow h10 does in this test?
What you do with the frequency range is not a test. It is nonsense! You cannot test by ear with a sinusoid (this is done with stripes of pink noise), and you cannot do this at the same volume (read about "curves of equal loudness").
You are simply misleading your viewers. Correct or disappear!

Hey…you think RUclips will ever go 5.1 and above? 5.1 would be great.

Hahaha
I used this sound test to test the capabilities of the BTF-Lighting Colorful X2, which is a cool little "neopixel" LED strip controller which can accept an audio input. Turns out it does in fact respond to different frequencies, but also to the overall volume of those frequencies and possibly even to what frequency follows. Pretty cool.
[EDIT] I also found out later that it only samples the left audio channel, it doesn't care about stereo. Which is not a point against it, it doesn't need to care about stereo. So you might wanna also pick up a simple stereo to mono mixer for it if you're thinking about buying one.
Awesome!
i randomly clicked on a video and turns out my headphones all the time were in mono - no wonder i couldnt use directional sound in games and just music kinda sucked. HUGE THANKS!!!!!
Thank you so much for this! Now I know exactly how terrible my headphones are :D
😂😂😂😂😭
Thank you so much for this! Now I know exactly how fantastic my headphones are :D
Lets me know how good my hyper x cloud 2 pro is for music 😎😎
Also for testing out my school headphones. A pair of budget Sony's. OK but not the best 😁
Lolzzzz 😂😂
OMG I stumble around the internet and happen to find this guy AGAIN.. HOW ARE YOU SO HELPFUL LOL
Hahaha thanks I try, subscribe and you get weekly tech tips!
Thank you for making this, very useful, the bitrate comparisons in particular.
Glad it was helpful!
Yes I didn't find any and thought it was relevant metric due to most amps being D-class :)

Using this demo, I was able to identify and fix the low frequency issue with one of my speakers. thanks team.
Great useful video and excellent download too! Going to use it to test all my speakers from now on.
This is what i looking for... Thx so much.
Thankyou so much its very usefull to evaluate the speakers quality in realtime; Great work thanks again
Most welcome!
Thanks for making this video
This is cool. I like the readouts, you can see the music.
Now, I just need to taste it.
Thank you! This helped me test my Elac DBR62 Reference speakers. Your frequency sweep played down to 34.16 htz, best I could measure. I started feeling the bass at 28 htz. Sounds about right. Amp pushes about 60 wpc. No sub on my system. Shakes the couch with out one, so Elac got clear, deep bass right. Being older I only hear to maybe 15khz, but still know what a real cymbal sounds like. Elacs sound real to me. Great video, thanks again.
Glad it helped!
wow. I just ran this test on a new pair of Sennheiser ture wireless Momentum 3s...wow. I use your test, the downloaded version for everything, but the latency doesn't need it for bluetooth just yet, but these earbuds are lit, and your test is, as always, totally perfect. Thanks
Welcome back!
@@GMODISM never left, friend. I'm a retired army radio guy. Computers/IT/audio. Your test is great. Should have given you Kudos years ago.
Thank you used to test this after calibrating my Bluethoot Sonys on my Mac.

Glad to help!
Thanks, this helped a lot!!!
You're welcome!
Very helpful. Thank you!
You're welcome, I'll try and make some new tests too as this one is quite old :)
Listening on Blue Mix-Fi headphones and gotta say. On the low bass part where it says there should be no distortion I cant hear distortion and its actually so clear that I can physically hear the bass diminish into the next beat and still hear the mid/high sounds perfectly well as well. Extremely pleased.
is there any app to see frequency graph while playing music on android?
@@atifalishaikh7474 most definitely on an android, I don’t know what ones there are though, I’m on iPhone.
haha so funny. it's a matter of the chip put at output. icrap has nothing to do with audio. @@yo_its_gingey5329
What does distortion sounds like?
@@Ardenict peaking. Like buzzing in some headphones, like a rasp in others.
Nice test, with my Chinese OneOdio DJ over the ear headphones, I could hear the differences in sample rate in the way they sounded more open, the frequency responce was flat from 14kz to 24Hx, nice test
Preparing before I upgrade the speakers in my car. Gonna use this when I do.
Proud owner of Sonata HD Pro and KZ ZSN Pro X. And I'm happy to announce that this setup rocks. Absolutely owns all these tracks. 😍😍
think only ambient pro red halo and he-1 that i immediately said 'wow' silently
premier ie900 and tm7 follows after
Well done!
Wow. Thus is impressive. Thanks
Listening on barracuda pros,
spatial audio working well.
Bass working well too, tiny bit, and I mean tiny bit of tinny distortion on the low test, mid range perfect high range too.
Quality it handles all of them really well while still making a difference.
Managed all of the frequencies.
Do check the HD version, might be youtube encoding that where responsible for some of the dist ;)
Muchísimas gracias. Le había entrado una gota de agua. No pensé que funcionaría, pero ya se oye normalmente. Es genial, pensé que se había arruinado. Gracias y éxitos!
Thanks for sharing.👍
Thank you for this video! The lows played fantastic on my ie 80s, mtw3 and PX8, mids good on PX8, ie 200 and Beoplay HX/EQ, and highs are very clear on the beoplays. All of them on flat EQ w/o dolby. 😁
Good stuff!
This is great!
This helped me in many way! Lol.. Especially with me thinking one of my tweeters were shot on my Bluetooth speaker to find out its working perfectly fine! 💯😄😎
Your outro track is superb. 👌🏻
Thank you. This helped me pinpoint the suddenly occurring rattling in my headphones.
Good!
Thanks!
Thank you so much, didn't know my 10$ in ear monitors can keep up and did a really good job delivering those sound, I'm so happy 😭
Glad I could help!
Thank you!

thank you now i see how beautiful are my headphones!!!
Amazing 👏👏👏
Very good sound test.
Glad you like it! But please download it or go for the HD version if you do it again

good work 👍
The highest pitch was painful. Thanks though.
Finally thank you
Thanks a lot man!

very good video, thanks! What's the name of the music that is used to test sound quality (when you compare 64kpbs, 96, 128…)?

Very useful video
Thanks a lot
These huawei airpods are fire. I like how my eardrums feel fine despite the loudness. And that frequency test sounded like it was inside my brain
Beautiful...god bless you.thanks.
So nice of you
Is all the frequency notes originally mixed at same loudness or different loudness?
2:38 my old M&K 300w powered subwoofer sounded boomy. Dissapointed given M&K's greatreputation. Had it reconed some years ago.
for some reason, 15000-16000Hz Was painful and loud, but everything else was nice, my guess is either resonance in my headphones or tinnitus
Its very thoughtful of you to put a warning about our pets in the video. :)
Naturally, these sounds are a high spectra where pets, or the prey of pets communicate, so both the hunters and the hunted here this very very well :)
I found you by searching how to test sound frequency. I firmly believe in what influence sound has on everything. Just an idea there are many channels here on RUclips that I was led to believe were of real listening value to enhance quality of needs: bone healing: Heart healing: energy clearing: attract abundance while you sleep: clear congestion head: clear migraines. We have been saturated with amature producers of these videos and 1) need a way to test authentic vibration. 2)ask you tube to monitor this a little more. I have health care education and also had bones to heal and grow quicker by this technique devuces put out by Medtronic specifically bone stimulator. Maybe you could put out mor video content regarding this subject. Thank you.
Perhaps, you are right that some sounds like 25hz and 50hz help cats bones be denser and heal quicker, perhaps it works on humans too. Or it should. However many videos on RUclips does not have much of the claimed frequencies, and youtube can't transmitt all lower and higher ones because off technical limitations. Be aware that even though there are some facts with sounds healing effect, most meditation tracks on RUclips are just that: meditation music and may not provide anything more than that. Thanks for the topic, I'll look into this and might make a video in some weeks, so do subscribe if I can do it :)
Thank you
This helped fix my problem in my speaker
Great!
During the frequency sweep at the end of the video, I hear pure tones within my hearing range, but also a superimposed rhythmic ticking sound. Is this a fault in my speaker system or intrinsic in the test recording?
Speaker problem
Its in the recording. It did it on every set of speakers and headphone I own.
Thank you. .I want you to display the frequency of the sound currently being output. if you can.
Smoke coming outta my headphone!!
Thanx
Ok so i have an xb43 and i tooknit apart lately and now its making a weird noise between 47 to 53 max volume max bass do you think i damaged them by doing an open air test
I'm using JVC HA-S31M-A headphones and they have pretty good sound for their price of $20. Not the greatest earpads, and had to buy an extension cable because the 1.20 m cord they have is short, but at least the sound is good. Of course, I don't have a high end expensive headphones to compare to, so...Still a great upgrade from the $5 Hama in-ear headphones I used before
Great! As soon as you get away from 5$ stuff, further improvements can be very expensive, but decent sound is what matters most
Down near 27hHz or so do you guys here that slight snowy/distortion sound? I have fiio fa9's. Edit: I just realized this is reduced significantly when using a dragon fly cobalt and even further with ifi xdsd amp. Still seems to be little bits of distortion but almost none. I did hit the headphones with full volume from the dragonfly (not in ears, thank god) could this have cause the low end drivers to distort or would this be just really hard to reproduce with iem's anyways?
That's a frequency for a subwoofer, very low... 👌
@@theoldleafybeard my sub doesn't exactly reproduce 20hz that loud especially compared to lets say,70 hz (which is loud)
Listening on my Sabbat E16. This sounds PERFECT
Is there supposed to be an echo or reverb when he speaks? I just got new speakers and I don't know if I already blew them out somehow.
good test
The bass felt like it was gonna make my headphones coke flying off
I never knew these headphones was this amazing lmao
nice!
I feel bad for people that don’t enjoy the hobby of super high quality sound. I am so lucky to have the gear I do. Martin Logan, Velodyne Subs, a great home theater, but also my family room and bedroom also have audiophile quality sound. I also have Sonos Five’s throughout the house. So fun.
Thanks a lot

@ 5:28 to 5:38, that 10 secs is not audible in my meidong BT stereo speaker bought in 2017, but Amkette pocket blast plays & rocks
Pretty cool..
4:42 is this okay to play this part in a hifi component speaker in loud volume? I tried to play this part and I worry that it may damage the speakers. Is this okay to play that part?
My shoulder lifted omg 😂😂😂
2021 still checking
Are there little artifacts in the sine sweep at the end? Really hard to know if it's on my end or the source material.
Download the HD file in description to make sure, sometimes it may be RUclips.
Fabuloso gracias
I expected to hear a crashing sound after 5:26 because it sounded like a cartoon character falling😂😂😂
testing my Marshall Middleton 🤩 another proof that thats the best wireless speaker 🤩😍
Fantastic
4:33 - This frequency sweep is actually to test speaker quality. It should really start from 20Hz and move up, but more slowly. You should be hearing for changes in volume. The less it changes volume the better. There is NO perfect speaker. I don’t know why it says “Should be no distortion” - that doesn’t make any sense.
thanks, usefull
Nice
Honestly, for me on my soundcore q30's, I really can't tell much difference after 96kbps ngl. Frequency range was somewhere around 15khz to 35hz. I can't quite tell if that's from the physical limit of the headphones or my actual ears lol
For that you need to download the video too, as RUclips also has a limit :(
I keep getting a popping noise between clips but not during any tests. I've been trying to fix it for ages now but I'm wondering if it's my onboard audio driver..
I got this tutorial explaining how to fix crackling audio, it should help you fix that issue
Search in my channels videos
Thankyou 👍♥️🇮🇳
do you know where I can measure tge left and right sound? I think my right earphone sounds lower and want to verify it
Listen to the sound sweep in this video, and listen if it sounds more in left or right or euqally much
I have coded FLAC to 320K, is definitely hard to tell the difference if the source and programs use get the encoding are done correctly.
If you mean FLAC vs MP3 the difference is easy to spot every time, unless the source music is not using acoustic instruments. Synthetic over compressed modern Pop, R&B, Rap etc is almost impossible to tell the difference .
@@EgoShredder But have you try encoding things yourself? otherwise you are most probably getting a low quality track rip from some webpage or video on RUclips (they trick you to think is a 320kb mp3 file).
@@ThunderKat Yep been encoding in just about every codec going since 2000, and have extensive recording studio / musician knowledge and experience back to the late 80s.. Even DSD / SACD files to playback on my SMSL M8 DAC. I avoid encoding things that have already been encoded previously like mp3.
I can not listen to mp3 for long, as my ears find it thin, brittle and fatiguing with shrill highs, sucked out mids and woolly lows, and damaged and reduced stereo soundstage. So yeah I prefer to work with lossless where possible.
In bass boosted test its fine when i let it play out but if i pause the video or mute, it produces an audio pop. Does anyone know why this happen or how to fix it?
Just tested my new headphones .. aaaah yes vindication..
If you want to test your speakers, "Crystal Ball Carolin No - Topic". The deep base shook my entire room with my 1978 home made speakers. Each contain one 15" woofer, 2 mid-range dome drivers, and 4 dome tweeters. My God, it was incredible ! THE EVIL TRYING TO SEPARATE US.
When i starting to listeningb a song
Som distortion noted right one after left one only few seconds
I can use this to test my headphones.🙂
Yes, the HD sound video is better however even though it is less popular for some reason :)
It's funny I'm using a hella cheap gaming headset, quite impressive for the price like this to sound okay with all these tests🗿🗿
Generally the problem with gaming headsets is that they last 6 months, and if they DO survive a full year, there's definitely something messed up with them (creaking, cable is all messed up, mic stopped or... THE DONGLE if there's one.)
There's 2 things you notice when buying +- 150$ headphones instead, and that's:
You don't really notice how "good" they sound in comparison until you use them for a day and then try your old pair out that now sound like absolute dogshit to the point where you're surprised you never noticed
For some reason after 3 years you've never thought about replacing them, even though you averaged 3-6 headsets during the same timespan before
Basically; It's not the "OMG I GOT HEADPHONES, WHAT SUPREME SOUND QUALITY" which makes them good, it's the fact that even though you're spending 2x the amount of cash, you're going to be saving money in the long run. - You also get a quite good mic (10x headset) that lasts at LEAST 5 years for 50$
@@Tyiriel I have some dogshit cheap Sony headphones I've been using for the past 8~ years - they survived falling, being in my backpack (not often, I don't torture them) and the only thing I'd replace would be pads. Tho now I kinda wanna try buying some 175$ headphones, so let's see if they'll be as durable as mine were.
