At first I laughed... then I got chills.
Garrus realizing too late what he said when Wrex was in the room was funny as hell... but the sheer VENOM in Wrex's voice made me shudder. Wrex knows what it's like to be on the extinction better than anyone... and he doesn't want to hear a lecture on genocide from a Turian of all people.
With how funny amd lovable Uncle Urdnot was in the Citadel DLC was, I forgot how angry and cynical he was in the first game. Dude really came full circle in his story arc... GOD I love this trilogy.

I liked wrex a lot more in the first game. He felt too goofy in the third game.

The way the morality system works in regards to your squadmates, Ashley and Kaiden are the only squadmates who can either be the most paragon or the most renegade characters in the game, provided you pursue a Paragon or Renegade relationship with either one of them, or in Kaiden's case, play completely neutral all throughout. However, if you pursue a romance with Liara, she will automatically become the most paragon squadmate in the game. Otherwise, she's number 2. Wrex is fixed as the most renegade squadmate in the game unless you pursue a renegade relationship with either Ashley or Kaiden. Tali is a fixed neutral with no ability to sway her more towards one direction or another, not even through her own sidequest. And Garrus starts off leaning more towards renegade, but can lean more towards the paragon path if you complete his sidequest and all Normandy conversations with him as a paragon. However, he will never be more paragon or renegade than Liara or Wrex respectively.

Btw, all squadmates apart from Wrex and Kaidan have both paragon and Renegade and it depends on whom you will take along with you.
    PARAGON Kaidan>Liara>Tali>Garrus>Ashley>Wrex RENEGADE
If you for example put Ashley and Wrex together - Ashley will wanna spare the queen because she wouldnt wanna be judged by the god for it while Wrex will still be like "You have rachni, you have acid - use the acid and both of them disappear, problem solved"

Liara is more Paragon than Kaidan because Kaidan said that the tanks are there for a reason when you have Liara in your squad

So it goes from most aggressive to non:
    Wrex
    Ashley
    Garrus
    Tali
    Kaidan
    Liara
It means you choose whether Ashley is hella racist or not. I first did this with Ashley and Wrex, so when I heard Ash's "opinion on the last mission," she was glad I saved the Queen. If she wasn't there on Noveria, Ashley will say the opposite.
Which sucks now because I'm not playing as an tech base, so I can't unlock boxes or use Damping when Ashley and Wrex are my two companions.

    Here’s one plot hole.
Honestly, why couldn’t they just leave the decision to actually leave the Rachni queen to stay there as they are, and just stop them from freeing themselves without killing them? The council’s angry with you either way for doing any of the two decisions regarding the Rachni Queen, so why COULDN’T Bioware just leave their fate to be here rather than outright play judge without due process here?
It’s your decision on its fate, but its never explained why report and capture aren’t an option here. It may sure lead to a consequence in the future sure, and it may lead to the public actually shitting on the council for not making swifter decisions by letting their Spectres (like Shepard) be more decisive here, but a choice like that would’ve been interesting still.
It’s the same as with Inquisition where they question your judgement and major decisions with recruitment without consulting them first.

@JL-XrtaMayoNoCheese I worded it wrong. Not a plot hole, but I don’t get why the developers couldn’t leave a choice where you can just leave the Rachni queen there as they are in their cell. No killing but no liberating either. I don’t get why Bioware wouldn’t write a scenario of what happens for a decision like that.

@@doctorpringles12 if I am honest, with the neutron purge she probably would have died anyway, or starved to death, or would be terminated via binary helix to cover up what they did
so you killing her just puts the weight on your shoulders

My assumption is that, since Noveria isn't technically in Council Space, it's doubtful that the Noveria government would permit the Council from arriving on the planet.
In their mind, it's bad enough that a Spectre is snooping about. And given Binary Helix's primary investor is Saren, he'd probably order the Termination of the Rachni Queen before the Council could get there.

Not really, it seems the Queen could just grab another body to control and eventually would’ve gotten out.
Now I would say have a dialogue play a role.
A sympathetic role= the queen makes contact
      Non = no contact.
But if you try to gas the Queen allow the Queen to beg via the corpse

I'm actually disappointed with what happened to this Rachni Queen in ME3. I don't mind a return visit from her, but she was in the very same situation like here. And that's just terrible.

Lol on my playthrough I saved the Rachni Queen and Kaiden said we should've left the decision to the Council, but apparently he can also potentially tell you to spare her? Goddammit Kaiden, make up your mind! XD Also love how Ashley is similarly two-faced, at 4:55 she says she doesn't trust the Rachni and they're killers and they should kill the queen, but then at 5:43 she's like "we'd be making a whole race extinct! I don't want that on my conscience!" Wtf Ashley? Lol, I get it the game decides which line to use depending on who you have with you and who is more Paragon or Renegade so that you always have both sides but wtf lol.

So basically Ashley and Wrex are asses about this (Shepard too if he/she gets paranoid and chooses renegade) but everyone else is cool. I'm glad I didn't take them with me. I don't like how they try to intimidate, belittle and bully Shepard into gassing the queen. That's not wise in my humble opinion. It's hilarious though how Shepard just slaps the Asari aside if he/she decides to push the button. I know it's not everyone's favorite DLC but it would have been awesome if Pinnacle Station was still there. It is a fun combat simulator. Instead the source code got lost and it didn't make it unfortunately into the Legendary Edition. Well I guess I'm the only who misses it despite its short length.

Wrex has an excuse for being so terse here, his race was used as a weapon against the rachni and millions were lost. As a result of their rapid population expansion that was needed to put that war to an end, they had the genophage inflicted on them, which only led to more suffering. I'm sure the idea of potentially setting another incident like that in motion doesn't sit well with him.
Ashley, on the other hand, is kinda written as being unapologetically racist in ME1 (though even some renegade Shepard options lean that way in the first game as well).

@@Antifrost What about her concern for her family there, not to mention her dad being beaten by Turians?

    • @Antifrost
      @Antifrost Год назад +1

@@strider117aldo9 The difference between Wrex and Ashley in this case is that the krogan already have a long bloody history of fighting the rachni, whereas Ashley is basing her fears on a "what if they come after us" assumption. Her concern for her family is valid, but it's also not unique to her. I will say in her defense that when I wrote my previous comment, I had forgotten about her family history which does explain why she's hostile towards aliens.
