  • Some dialogue with Garrus after Palaven that you can only get if you chose spacer origin since that is the only one where you actually have parents that are still alive haha. Garrus is just ❤️❤️❤️ He's so awkwardly adorable trying to comfort her.

    Either he stuttered that moment because he shared the same concern or… his mother… 😞

      @@AnimeShinigami13 You're probably right... She's probably safe in some randome vessel while she was on the mend from her illness for all we know. (Hence his mother has some syndrome if I recall correctly...)

      She is.
      In a comic book and Shadow Broker DLC you can learn that Garrus's mother has - had - a rare and uncurable disease that causes severe neurological degeneration and is called Corpalis Syndrome. He tried to do something: sent money, sent a valuable gift to a salarian medical centre that studies Corpalis, but as we can see in ME3, there's only three Vakarians left - Garrus himself, his sister Solana and their father Castis. So she died between ME2 and ME3.

    I really wish Shepard would get to meet Garrus's father, who Andromeda revealed that his name is Castis. Sure, Castis doesn't like Spectres, but I think he would still be interested in meeting Shepard, since he had no misgivings about them before. As Garrus said, Castis doesn't let political BS cloud his judgement. And if your Shepard is paragon, I think Castis would be even more interested since in his eyes, Spectres only play by their own rules.

    I wish we could've gotten more conversations like this throughout the game, instead of crew mostly being reduced to ambient lines.

    Yeah, when I first started playing Mass Effect way back when, I always picked Earthborn Soldier Sole Survivor, just to give a grounded feel to the character and to give a more personal stake to the fight for Earth, nowadays I always pick Spacer Soldier Sole Survivor, I like having Shepard actually have their mother still around, the reason I choose soldier is because quite frankly you can't go wrong with it, the ammo powers are just more useful and reliable than the biotic or tech powers.

      Soldier is great, Infiltrator is good too, I can’t bring myself to play as anything other than those two lol

      @@kay_jello I recently did an engineer run through the games, god I hated it, the pistol and SMGs were fucking useless in Mass Effect 2, at least when you get to the collector ship mission you can choose another weapon specialization, I chose assault rifle so I could use the Mattock and had Armor piercing ammo as my bonus power, was much more easy after that.

    It's not rare at all you just have to have the Spacer's background and he will always ask about Shepard's mom.

    • @kay_jello
      @kay_jello  15 дней назад +1

      I know but if you think about it, statistically, most players probably haven't heard this dialogue because they let the game choose the background for them or they choose the other two because bfr the spacer origin doesn't seem as cool as earthborn and colonist. This was like my third playthrough and I just thought it was interesting that Garrus said something different than what I was used to hearing in that scene,, :D
