I feel like the real Shepard is a Paragon who does Renegade actions when the situation is truly upsetting. Like when you punch the Quarian Admiral in ME3 for firing on a dreadnougt you and your squad was on.
The second most satisfying renegade interrupt in the game. It's one I always do now in every plathrough. That interrupt is only second to the one with Kai Leng.
I always found that super unrealistic. You don’t throw a fit and assault a high ranking military official like Admiral Gerrel. I think cursing him out and kicking him off the ship would have been enough. I catch your drift though.
What are they gonna do? Arrest the guy amassing an army to fight the reapers? Punching the Quarians admiral is the least he deserves. If it weren't for Tail I would sided with the Geth and wiped them out.
@@alexanderblack4833 Actually yeah, the Quarians probably would pursue action against shepherd. Obviously the council would do nothing since you’re a spectre, but the Quarians could easily rescind their offer to fight for earth.
@@Mojave_Ranger_NCR that would only ensure they stand alone against the reapers AND the geth. Not to mention that even IF they survive the war then their reputation would be even worst with the other races as the only species that stood by during the final push to beat the reapers. Also, I doubt the alliance would just standby and do nothing to help Shepard, again the very guy that has the most experience with reapers and got the krogan and turians to help Earth. Shepard literally is worth more than some crazy short sighted admiral.
To be fair this is the only proper way to treat the council. They send a team consisting of arguably the best of the best in what they do equipped with the most advanced ship in existence on a mission and when the guy leading said team sends a report they just go "lol we don't believe you, let's make our own assumptions and act on them" like...tf ?
I always loved how Joker seemed to get more excited for these calls the more you disconnected them. Even in ME3 he’s got a line something like “You want me to call the council and hang up on them for old time’s sake?”

I never dismissed the council, but when I heard what Sparatus was going for, it took me a few seconds to consider answering, let it sink in, and disconnected without hard feelings. They didn't get on my nerves after that somehow. It seems Sparatus had a word with the other council members.
I love Normandy SR1 got that kind of meeting room. after finishing an important mission, all of your squadmates sitting there, while Shepard gave an epic speech. good old times.
when someone plays paragon usually the player thinks as renegade shepard...i mean the council is a bunch of scaredy bitches...like they give you unlimited power(as a spectre) and still think like you're their pet...watch saren...he didn't give a single fuck to the council...still was their fav spectre
Shepard: "Hey council, there's a warship bigger than the Ascension about to attack the station you live on. Might wanna keep an eye out." Council: "Lol funny joke, human."
I just discovered on my latest playthrough that, during the first 3 missions (Feros, Noveria, Therum), if you disconnect the first time, then don't disconnect the second time, Shepard will have a new line if you disconnect on the third mission's completion; I did Feros last, and his line was "Goodbye, Councilor." after the Turian Councilor complains that of course you helped a HUMAN colony.
Pavan CaLeRa If only Shepard could do this in ME2 during the meeting, they'd be worth saving just to do that again. In ME2 the closest to this i remember is when the Illusive Man gets disconnecting if Shepard chooses to destroy the Collector Base.

Honestly, I always felt a *little* guilty doing this to them (as funny as it is, and it is DAMN funny), because of the Asari Councilor-- sure, she dismisses your warnings regarding Sovereign and the Reapers, but at least she's *nice* and is the most reasonable (relatively) about it-- she's certainly not an outright insulting jerkoff asshole like the Turian Councilor (my otherwise straight-on Paragon NEVER missed an opportunity to give HIM lip).
They questioned my authority, I questioned their communications connection.
Even in the real world it wouldnt make sense to seek repercussions after the admiral went AWOL and fired on allied forces.
Also, I doubt the alliance would just standby and do nothing to help Shepard, again the very guy that has the most experience with reapers and got the krogan and turians to help Earth. Shepard literally is worth more than some crazy short sighted admiral.
This is hilarious! I had to watch it since I am too polite and patient to do it myself. XD
Jose Suarez Sorry,i cant hear you, there is too much bullshit on this line!😂😂😂
Jose Suarez I only disconnected them in Virmire. They deserved it
"Ah, yes, 'Reapers'. The immortal race of sentient starships allegedly waiting in dark space. We have dismissed this claim."
Played renegade shep recently and did this. I laughed so hard i cryed. whooops! lol
it's hard to be a paragon when it is so satisfying to hang up on the council
the "you know it!" has charmed me for a life time. i use it myself as often as possible.
Whoops! And we're out.
I love how you can *hear* the smile in Joker's voice.
I always loved how Joker seemed to get more excited for these calls the more you disconnected them. Even in ME3 he’s got a line something like “You want me to call the council and hang up on them for old time’s sake?”
I love how Joker just fully supports it.
You know it. *Trollface*
If you kill the Rachni queen on Noveria, the Turian counsellor asks Shepard if he finds pleasure on commiting genocide. Renegade Shepard says "Depends on the species, turian." One of my favorite renegade lines ever.
"you know it" I died
That last disconnect was really more of a you just pissed me off even more. Seriously, losing a team member that's been with you from the beginning is kinda hard.
I never dismissed the council, but when I heard what Sparatus was going for, it took me a few seconds to consider answering, let it sink in, and disconnected without hard feelings.
They didn't get on my nerves after that somehow. It seems Sparatus had a word with the other council members.
When i first did a renegade character after doing a paragon, doing this was so satisfying.
You can still do it as paragon :D
I love Normandy SR1 got that kind of meeting room. after finishing an important mission, all of your squadmates sitting there, while Shepard gave an epic speech. good old times.
I love how you can hear how much Joker loves doing this in the tone of his voice. Like he's just barely trying to be professional.
That pause before Joker says: "That never gets old, does it?" and his tone kills me. :D
"I don't need this..." Never gets old
Ah yes, "Reapers."
I am usually a paragon Shepard and filled them in when I could but oh my god if I didn't love doing this to them on every renegade playthrough LOL
when someone plays paragon usually the player thinks as renegade shepard...i mean the council is a bunch of scaredy bitches...like they give you unlimited power(as a spectre) and still think like you're their pet...watch saren...he didn't give a single fuck to the council...still was their fav spectre
Shepard: "Hey council, there's a warship bigger than the Ascension about to attack the station you live on. Might wanna keep an eye out."
Council: "Lol funny joke, human."
0:30 Joker even chuckled a bit
LOL 1:02 😂
Asri council: Commander. Do not cut me off like last time. I failed to find it amusing.
Shepard: Whoops!
Joker: And we're out!
I just discovered on my latest playthrough that, during the first 3 missions (Feros, Noveria, Therum), if you disconnect the first time, then don't disconnect the second time, Shepard will have a new line if you disconnect on the third mission's completion; I did Feros last, and his line was "Goodbye, Councilor." after the Turian Councilor complains that of course you helped a HUMAN colony.
imagine how many lives a little bodycam could've saved XDDDDDDD
They would still deny it, lets be fair.
The best part about this is Joker's voice actor chuckling.
Don't tell me how to do my job.
Oops! Looks like we lost the connection, joker
Pavan CaLeRa If only Shepard could do this in ME2 during the meeting, they'd be worth saving just to do that again.
In ME2 the closest to this i remember is when the Illusive Man gets disconnecting if Shepard chooses to destroy the Collector Base.
I have never played another game series that acknowledges my choices even half as well as Mass Effect did and Sheperd's performace just makes it all the funnier.
This is the funniest thing I've seen in a while
Joker lives up to his namesake
Joker is having the time of his fucking life.
This is the absolute best way to handel this situation.
“Whoops” best game line ever
You forgot the best payoff to this when you let the council die and joker disconnects the call too as final middle finger to those space assholes.
"You know it."
“Is this some kind of game?”
Well yes, but yes
Joker playing along is amazing lmao, best bro.
you can actually sense that Joker is holding back his laughter
9 years later, this video is still hilarious xD
I can hear joker smiling and I'm here for it. ❤
“You know it.” LMFAOOOOOOOO I’m dead 😂💀
ME2
Joker "want me to call up the council, so you can disconnect from them, like the Good old days"
While I favor taking things in a lighter tone and trying to actually handle shit, the council deserves all of that with how talking to them, even in ME3 when everything is going to shit, never works out.
Mass Effect is a serious game about serious business.
The "yeees" from salarian Councilor is probably because he was already expecting Shepard to interrupt communication lol
"Aaawwww. Looks like we lost the signal,Joker." LOL!!
How to deal with politicians
Me: Hang up on them.
Bro I thought it would just end the conversation, I didnt know it had an entire branch!! FUCK so many missed opportunities!!
*line abruptly disconnects*
“Roger, Roger.”
ME2: “Ah yes, ‘Reapers’. The immortal ra-“
*Disconnects*
Joker is just trying so hard to not burst out laughing every single time.
The council deserves it for not taking Shepard seriously
"You know It" hahahhahahha I never did this and I found this is one of the funniest moment in the trilogy
I like how you can find this video by searching “Mass Effect You Know It”
I... had no idea... any of this existed...
Now i troll the absolute frick out of the Council 🤣🤣🤣🤣
This is my Guilty pleasure 😂😂😂
they should have had this in every mass effect game
I would've loved to be able to hang up on the illusive man more times than just once
RIP to this series. I'm glad I was able to experience this saga of gaming as a child.
