I wish you would get on forums. All the comments and info here is hard to find and sort through. On a forum, it would pop up with a simple web search and especially so through the forum. Social media has drawn people away from forums but it’s always been the best place for collective knowledge. For you, simply posting your video and description to the forum is enough. I hang out on the KTMforums. I really appreciate your work and sharing everything. Thanks. 🍻
Putting on an aftermarket can gives the bike an even meaner sound and saves some weight. So does lithium battery. The cat delete allows me to run some race gas and with an ignition tune and air filter from Rotwieler the bike screams. With a lot of Titanium, WP Pro components smaller rims and dirt bike tires and I'm broke! Solid Vid!
Agree with the Scotts damper. I also had one laying around and was planning to eventually put it on but after a bit of head shake at some ...spirited highway speeds I decided to put it on sooner rather than later. Swapped to the KTM rally seat, should have gotten the one with the orange insert lol. Waiting on my arrow mid pipe, and AXP skid plate and easy clutch (more for the wider fiction zone than easy clutch pull). Mounted my Garmin Montana and run the same or similar windshield extension but was thinking about a Rade rally screen. Just got past the first service interval so long way to go before I have a solid opinion on it but so far its is the love child of a KTM 500 and BMW GSA in my mind, which are the two bikes I traded in on this one.
Lovin all ur vidz! Thanks so much - I’m riding the ‘21 890R too and what a machine! Havin a tonne of fun, you know what I’d love to see tho is a vid on ‘how to undrown a bike in the bush’ seen a few for other bikes but I’d say that’s one of the most likely situations people will get in and cld save people a fortune knowing how to drain the water out the sump plug and get em going again. Big ask I know but I reckon it’ll be a hit! 💥
Hey Mario, you should try the stock exhaust mod with that cat delete, the bike sounds amazing and pulls even better. Drill out stock rivets on endcap, cut down internal pipe as close to end as you can (you'll have 7or 8 inches cut off) , wrap some wire around what's left for a spark arrestor, and re-rivot. Costs almost nothing.
I cannot say for sure. A thermal camera after a ride would help determine. If you have something to read temps, I can let you know what it is without the cat.
Hi Mario, on my 2021 890 R, I had an issue with gas boiling in the tank. Very dangerous if you open the cap to quick, gas will spray out of the tank. I live in Colorado so altitude may have something to do with it. Problem solved by lining the bottom of the tank with aluminum heat tape and removing the check valve from the gas cap. Longtime subscriber. I enjoy your vids.
@@2WR I did the canister delete also and still had pressure in tank. The gas cap vent set up is a bad design with tiny little vent holes so I just remove the rubber flap and no more problem,. Only possible with doing this is if bike is on it's side for very long you might loose s teaspoon of gas.
I've got a cat delete on the way for mine, I also found a spark arrestor for the stock can I'll be setting up. I've also got a set of Motoz Advenutre tires on the way too, suspect the TKC 80s aren't going to make it through the summer.
Windshield deflector amzn.to/3SHw5eL Side mirrors you can find on Rottweilers website along with the mounts. Or you can check out this video with a cheaper option (at least for the mirrors themselves) ruclips.net/video/nOi7NW-CAD4/видео.html
@@2WR Just talked to a Local Dealer/Europe. For the 890R Duke I own, there's no need for remap. Not even the full Akra system comes with one. So you can put a decat and a slip on w/o having to dyno or flash. Thanks
TKC80 front, Dunlop TrailMax Mission rear. Another TKC80 rear in the garage (have my own tire changer). Depends. Only cleaned it once so far but that was due to hosting the ADV events. Brian and I switch off lead/follow so at least a few hundred miles following a dozen bikes off-road. You’d need to service it at least once a year regardless because the oil will dry out and be less effective.
Everyone's probably thinking dang West Virginia is awesome bike riding territory I know I am been to West Virginia a lot and it is a awesome state it's one big National Park. 👍

did the cat delete drop some of the heat?

Comparto tus opiniones.
En mi 790 R tengo la misma configuración.

Another great video Mario. Bike does sound great on that flyby.
Thanks Brian!
I'm digging the new intro!!
Actually had that intro for awhile, just don't use it very often. Felt like switching it up
Nice vid...and the end flyby sounded really good. Also, love the color of the new gloves. 🙂
Thanks! 😀
I gotta do that mirror set up on the GreenTravelingMachine!

Kinda hoping Fastway would come out with something like I have on my 350 but nothing from them so far.
I love the sound with just cat delete. It’s mild most of the time yet still has some noise when I get into it.
@@2SanityAtitsBest2 did it get rid of some of the heat?

Hi Mario. My name is Mario as well...just bought 22 890r was just wondering what windshield spoiler you have and how do you like it?? Thank you.
This one amzn.to/3nr4QHA
Works great
Does the cat delete reduce the excess engine heat cooking your right leg?

I had this same problem in the first or second tank of fuel. I have not had the problem since.
haven't had that issue but then again I did the canister delete soon after I bought it so now it vents to atmosphere which (in theory) should help.

I live in Texas and when I went to Colorado had the same issue. Now replacing fuel line and filter with Rottweiler so going to do the heat tape.
Interesting info. Thanks for sharing guys.

I may look for a similar setup that I used on my 350 where I'm still using the stock can but with a different (larger outlet) end cap.
Hey Mario, love the side view mirrors, and your spoiler (windsheild deflector). Where can I order them,. Thanks!

Hi… removing the catalyst, did you have to remap? did you mount arrow decat?
No remap. Here’s the install and details KTM 790 890 ADV Cat Delete Mid Pipe | Back in the Garage

Thanks for the vid! Any mapping/flash upgrade required for the air intake and decat, or it runs fine?
Runs fine. If u wanna drop several hundred dollars more for those last few HP, remap/PCV is available.

Hey few questions: what tires are you on now? How often do you have to clean the air intake w/ the new foam filter?
TKC80 front, Dunlop TrailMax Mission rear. Another TKC80 rear in the garage (have my own tire changer). Depends. Only cleaned it once so far but that was due to hosting the ADV events. @2 Wheeled Rider good to know ty. 👌🏾
Does the windshield windscreen work? Where can I buy?
Link is in the description and peppered throughout the comments.
what gps model is it?
I have a old 2008 950sm thinking of the Rottweiler air filter kit seems to always get a good rating, any suggestions
Love it on my 990 ADV
Looking at the 2022 890 if they can't get the POS I mean PAS running the way it should or I'm just not comfortable with after they do get fixed...
DO IT RON!!! Hopefully they are able to get your bike right; I know you really like it.
You sould totally get an 890 r Ron
Everyone's probably thinking dang West Virginia is awesome bike riding territory I know I am been to West Virginia a lot and it is a awesome state it's one big National Park. 👍
Twin Air makes a drop in filter for $60. I like Rottweiler but I can't justify $400 to 600 airbox.
I've been using the original Ktm foam filter since 2019 with no issues at all... And no way they gained 10hp without a remap. I call bs on that
Cool. You still have the 1290 as well?
Sure do. Gearing up for another big trip on it this summer.
Why would you be up on the pegs on a mundane gravel road?
Nice Mario 👍🏻👍🏻
10hp out of an air box is a bold claim.
