Much appreciated. I've been changing my own oil for 50 years but this is my first KTM and first oil change by me is coming up. Thanks for taking out any "how to" guess work.
Being able to reset the service light through the menu is a nontrivial part of my purchasing decision. So many of the European brands don’t ever allow this. Plus, and internal oil filter is such a great feature compared to those external PITA filter cans. Also one less thing to be damaged off road.
Hello there. Just found your channel and subscribed. Your maintenance videos are excellent. Question, what make and size is that small torque wrench you are using? I have a big torque wrench and I would like to get a smaller one like you have. Thanks.
Great overview. Can you tell me what foot pegs you have on that bike? They look awesome very wide platform. They look like Fastway but I don’t know for sure
common issue. The mount for the tank has some movement, adjustability in it, so depending on how it was put on, it can block the oil filler cap. Short of trying to re-mount the tank, you can get away with cutting down the wings of the filler cap. The aftermarket does sell replacements that are already lower profile.
I did the oil change and there is no way to don't get a some leak from the filter cup. I changed o ring I oil it im tightening the bolts manually but I think firm enough. That's driving me crazy I always find 1 drop of oil
1) Don’t guess; torque then appropriately. 2) Make sure you didn’t scratch/tear the new o-ring when u installed it. I’m still on the original o-ring on my 1290 with nearly 60,000 miles on it. 3) Once you’ve done the first 2, if it’s still leaking, just put some high temp silicone around the o-ring and ride it.
Excellent job - clear instructions, verbal and visual. No excess moves, emphasis where vital - this man know how to teach.

is it totally necessary to remove the skidplate everytime you do an oil change on this bike? seems like its not necessary

It’s a 1/4inch drive torque wrench from KTM. This is the one amzn.to/3I4IvKe
Awesome, Thanks.
How does the 890 adventure r compare with your 1090r? I’m considering making the switch. Are you happy with the change?
I have a 1290 SA. Totally different bikes. Happy to have both for different types of riding and the 990 for all our fun.

Any thoughts on filling
Oil filter with bike on its side first?
You could. That's the way I do the dirt bike.
Do you have to replace the sieves with every oil change?
As long as they aren’t damaged, you can keep reusing them.
Wait what ! I can't unscrew my oil cap my tank is in front of ! Is it an update on the 890 r compared to the 790 r ?

Look after those orange Crocs - they had been discontinued last time I looked!
Bro…the orange Crocs are sacred.
Wow, only 2.8 liters. Think I'll be changing my oil every 4K cause I'm going to be ringing the piss out of mine all the time.
Is it a bit cheese mate 😂
