Fascinating. My mother was a homecare assistant visiting old people in their houses. During the seventies, she cared for an old lady who lived to be hundred and she remembers talk of jack the ripper . The craziest thing is that back then the East end of London was incredibly poor, literally the lowest of the low. Today it is probably one of the most expensive areas to live in the entire world, with properties starting at half a million pounds a pop and basic terrace houses a million pounds a pop. Insane how things can change. Great video and new viewer!

It is interesting how things have changed. I visited the UK back in 1999 and then about 6 months later in the Millennium year of 2000. Accidentally I was pointed to and I got on the wrong train line in the Victoria station. That particular incorrect train line, took me out to whitechapel. And I got to be honest with you the Whitechapel that I saw in 1999 and in the year 2000 did not look anything like what I'm seeing today on your video. So I guess they really have come up in the world as we say here in America.

@@RileEren I still remember Whitechapel being a little bit 'rough' back then as it is now. I hear it's even worse now.
However, the biggest difference between then versus now is that there weren't a lot of businesses closed and shunted like, there is now today.
Another thing that I don't necessarily remember seeing is that there weren't as, many people who 'bottomed out' in life and in society and who are now basically living off the streets. Didn't see very much of that when I visited back in 1999 and 2000.
I mean yes you saw a few here and there but it was not as bad as it is today. Would you agree with me or are you seeing things a little bit differently? I'm curious to know your opinion.

She never saw the mans face and managed to escape but the grip on her wrist was so strong that it left a mark which never healed. When her daughter was born, she had a similar mark around the same wrist that eventually went away. Its a story that has been passed down in my family for generations.
