@@brentwatters the best 😭 she knows i’ve been struggling creatively as of late and wanted to help me out of my slump. the angel bought me the mpc II bro, insane. happy to of found your channel
Found you on my timeline today. Great vid Brent! Just wanted to come through and encourage you to keep rocking with the vids! You have great quality and I can see your content growing massively! #subbed
Hi. Are you saying Splice will sync directly to your MPC or just to the SD card when it's in your computer? That would be amazing if it syncs through the WIFI on the MPC.
Great question! Assuming you are getting them from Splice, I think your only option is to download them to your desktop browser, ensure they are .wav, and manually move them to the MPC. Id not think the MPV handles .flac very well. I personally have never had this issue but I found a few Reddit posts discussing this and downloading to the desktop first then manually moving seems to be the best solution.
Peace, Brent. I recently copped a mpc live ii, but I've been struggling. My issue is getting the sample to loop or just getting everything on beat. I take it the grid is the way to go?
Yo yo yo. So I like using the grid when I am working with a sample that is a loop. I’ll load it onto a pad and then place a note right on the first down beat of a patter . I would also make sure the bpm matches the tempo of the sample You can also use the step sequencer to put a sample right on the 1st downbeat. Let me know if this helps or if you need further clarification
That does make sense! So assuming the sample has some sort of timing or groove - the first thing you should do is make sure the sample start point is at the first downbeat (aka the 1 if you are counting 1,2,3,4). Then use the grid to put a single note on the 1 of the grid (the very beginning). From there use the tap tempo button to tap the tempo of the sample. Turn the metronome on and listen for the metronome to align with the beat or groove of the sample. You can use the large knob in the main screen (after you click the tempo) to dial in the tempo as wellZ
you just destroy a amazing piano the moment that you are warping or play around with the original splice sounds lissin good what it does it don,t stretch how it suppose to be it starts to crack and stutter YA REALLY DONT HEAR IT ?? please tell me that you hear it
I completely agree that the MPC live has some work to do to make warping sound decent, however I don’t necessarily mind the artifacts sometimes. The MPC live does a lot of things but some are only 80% to being perfect. I am okay with that as it adds so much to my creativity
Great video Brent! Caused me to leave my first ever comment on youtube lol. Been debating getting this unit but now I’m sold. Thanks for the info!
That is awesome!!!! So glad I could be a part of your buying journey! Please let me know if you have any questions or run into any problems!!!!

As a new MPC Live II owner, and a different Brent who also does music, I found this video very helpful.
Thanks Brent!!!!! Glad it could help. You are going to love the Live ll !

Love your enthusiasm dude, keep it up! I’m very tempted to buy the MPC One these days… cheers

Oh man thank you so much! That means the world to me. Really appreciate the kind words.
“Makes it looks like I drink a lot.” Gets a sub. Thanks for the info and look forward to more.
Thank you Gerald! Truth be told drinking is just more fun when you are making beats
Awesome video i learned a lot
Awesome! Thank you for watching!
Hey man i love your energy, its a shame its been a year since your last video- youre really good at this!
Oh wow thank you so much 😭 that is so nice of you to say. I’ll be back soon!!!
I'm an old school producer that's split between finding my own samples from records and using high quality pre made samples on splice.
I download splice sounds but i cant hear them through my mpc only laptop
Hello! Have you integrated splice into your MPC through the MPC settings menu?
@@brentwatters i believe so
Bought the new MPC key 61, Splice files not working, .flac files issue perhaps, very disappointing.
Hi. Are you saying Splice will sync directly to your MPC or just to the SD card when it's in your computer? That would be amazing if it syncs through the WIFI on the MPC.
Yes it syncs through the wifi! No need to plug it into the computer
@@brentwatters Wow!
So .flac files seem to not play on my live 2. Any tips how to fix it?

@@brentwatters sweet. Yeah ill check it out.
@@brentwatters yeah but that negates the splice button and integration
Very true but you may just be out of luck with FLAC files. In all honesty I have never come across this problem as most of my samples are WAV.
@@brentwatters how do you sync splice wav files automatically to mpc live 2

@@brentwatters Yeah I need more clarity bro, I understand, but not all the way. I'm a photographer first. Lol. I just happen to love beats
Can you give me an example of what sort of samples you are using? Are you sampling something externally or using an audio file?
@@brentwatters I’m sampling off youtube or apple, then i get samples from splice. Not sure if i made any sense

you forgot to say,... "in the bathroom while I'm taking a 💩".
So i load it using that button....!
Can't see button😮
...splice requires a subscription w/ a monthly fee to download samples ...min is $15/mo ...that's an additional $200 per year ...
