'Truly Pure Analog' would be like; Recording vocals with an Analog MIC or an Electric Guitar DI signal through an Analog Interface, imprinted on some type of analog medium like Cassette Tape or Vinyl. And for the listeners to get the Pure Analog experience they would need an Analog Tape or Vinyl Player. But this entire debate is silly and a waste of time and energy. Given that most of the reasons we love the sound of analog can be replicated with digital effects plugin like XLN Audio RC20 or better yet Modeling of actual analog gear like IK Multimedia T-Racks.

Then you can add your own desired effects using plugins or even some recording techniques. That is what makes Digital precious in my opinion. Virtually any analog gear will sound different (even if slightly) each time you use it; as it ages, depending on the environment (is it Hot, is it Cold), etc. I am speaking as a hardcore lover and practitioner of Old School/Lofi Boom Bap But, we mustn't let nostalgia prevent us from acknowledging the truth and act accordingly.

@@jayfiya5230 yea the main reason mine has dust is bc I could barely get it to work with FL, and even then it was very limited. Basically a midi keyboard, which I already have.. lol And I hear ya on not using Maschine after using the Live 2 lol. Good luck!
I'm surprised you didnt get the "limited edition" retro version. Since that seems like the most popular version. But I prefer the regular black version.
If you do not need the built in speakers and CV outs go with the original Live. You can get great deals on them and they travel the best out of all the units.

I concur, brother. I initially got the Live 1 to toy around with away from the desktop... fast-foward to today and my Live 2 is now the central part of my setup. Most of the time it is the only piece of gear I turn on to start coming up with ideas and several sequences. Now I have a hardcase to take it out on errands, sit in my car, and scratch out more ideas... midi keyboard and headphones are optional!
@@creativegreats6924 … very few differences between the two. The speaker comes in handy and it added the 4 shared cv/gates ports. That’s what I can think of off the top of my head… timing was on my side to swap the MPC Lives. I just returned the Live 1 for the Live 2.

Man Bolo, been following you few months now and have enjoyed every vid. I have a MPC Studio Black but think I will be upgrading to the MPC Live ||. Issue I'm currently having with the studio is I can only use it on my desktop PC. Can't use it on my new Macbook because the Macbook only has USB-C ports. The USB to USB-C adapters are not working. It powers the Studio but it won't open the interface. In that case a standalone unit may be better for when I'm traveling.

When rookie trap producers use samples, should they use sampled drums, instead of synthesized? It takes experience to make samples and synthesis sound like they blend in the same space
Just saw the Live II for $700 dollars. I know this is not software based but I want to know what I should be looking for or be concerned about other than if the unit works when purchasing a used unit. Can I get the software for the computer without any problems from the manufacturer because it was purchased used? Thanks Bolo

Live 2 was my first and I love it. I wouldn't really say it's "analog" - it's all basically digital with a built-in computer.
Some would argue the same about all MPC’s lmao “analog” is used contextually at this point
