The front vents are functional. Also there is no torsion beam in the rear. It's multi-link suspension. I had a 2022 but traded it in for a Camry TRD. The Forte GT was better in a lot of ways. I would still buy one today.
Could you give a few insights on how it was better my friend thanks
Dude you killed it in the canyon carving! You drive pretty quick without being reckless. faster than most performance reviewers.
Turning off traction control helps keep it a smooth drive on curvy roads
I bought a 2021 gt new and have put 58k miles on it, basically 90% highway miles. Zero problems, comfortable seats, good sound system. I usually get a new car every 3 years because I drive so much and need reliability. I’m seriously considering the new Forte GT, because mine has been a great car and it has quite is bit to pep for freeway/highway passing situations.
This is expected to be the last year of the Forte, 2025 may reveal the Kia K3 in america you could wait a bit for that 😳
I just bought a 2024 Kia Forte GT Line for 23,000 flat price! love the car ! Hope they keep making them . I’ll have to probably buy another one since I’ll put a lot of miles on it in 3 years
@georgebetinis870 How has it been so far? Any complaints?
@georgebetinis870which chip is that? Got a link or any info?
@@alexnathanieldejesus1099 Unfortunately, they will no longer offer the manual transmission, which will force me to buy a different brand when the time comes.
Just picked a 2023 GT Manual in Gravity Gray today. It's loaded, great looking, and a blast to drive. For the price, it can't be beat.
Any problems or complaints yet?
Any issues?
@@randomwhiteguy5615 Not so far.
Underrated car
I love my Forte already have hit 100k miles no issues !!
Just throwing it out there, you mentioned it has torsion beam suspension. The GT's get independent rear suspension specific to them
💯
i have the 2022 Forte GT, in the same color. I'm 71 years old so, when I purchased the car last year, I was not looking to learn how to drive a stick at my age. I will tell you, the 7speed DCT, works flawlessly. The transmission shifts so quickly, I will more than likely beat you at a Zero to 60 mph test. Even an expert like you, probably can't shift as fast the dual clutch. The car came with Kumho' tires, which after about 4 months changed to Michlin's Pilot Sport A/S 4+. They improved the cars ride and handling significantly. I live in New Jersey, where we do get snow, and I wasn't looking to swap out tires every season, so I didn't buy the Michlin Summer Tires.
For people like be, it's not about who can win a race. It's about fun. Manuals are more fun and they take no time to learn. A little herky jerky (probably stall at traffic lights. practice is parking lot) for the first 2 or 3 days, then after that it becomes second nature. Yeah, you can beat me in a race, but I'm smiling a lot more.
@@FM-gv7sb It's my age which made be choose the DCT. I'm 71 years old, and I just want things easy these days. As for racing, I'm retired.
Of course a modern automatic can "beat" a stick - but not in fun or the artistry of really driving a car well.
I have a 19 Forte S and it’s by far my favorite car I’ve owned so far. Love the design, lots of space, and great gas mileage.
Have a 2023 Forte Gt DCT with the GT2 package and its been a blast to drive. It surprises me all the time and at the price point its hard to beat. Exhaust sounds great and the DCT farts are fun.
Such an impressive car given the price.
Wow Miles I am so happy you reviewed this car! I recently took one on a drive and was very impressed by how sporty it was.
It was a pleasant surprise!
the amount of laughter throughout this video speaks volumes😂
This a great affordable car, especially compared to the competition. If you wanted a manual civic for example with the base 2.0 engine, you’d have to get the sport at least and with no options that could easily be over 28k. I paid 21k for my ‘23 Impreza hatch with a stick but it’s not particularly sporty - I’ve never been the biggest fan of kias, but this does look like a fun sporty car at a reasonable price point :)
Great review. I just bought. 2024 Forte GT and it's a fun car to drive especially when you consider the price.
Any issues you’ve had with it? Considering buying one myself.
Had a 2019 forte S. I loved every mile in that car!
I have this car in the same color with the GT2 package. I don't see any green in it nor have I ever been told that. I get so many compliments on how beautiful the color is.
kinda sucks you arent getting much viewers right now. this is top tier content.
Nice review man !!! Driving it on that curvy road got me subscribed to your channel !!!
Thank you for reviewing the manual version of the car
I purchased a 2023 forte GT snow white pearl DCT and completely love this car . It over performs in every way also 34 mpg in sport.
How many miles you got now
Great review.
This is the LAST car under $35K left in the U.S. to offer rear-seat vents + stick + "leather." ($35K to get all that in a GTI.) Both will be gone in 2025.
nice test drive as every time. Honest car
dannnnnnng, that looks freaking killer for 27k what! It looks like a cracked out slightly more compact kia optima, but up to date. I loved the kia optima around 2013 when it came out, as a young adult it was one of the first cars i saw that made me want a vehicle (my friends made fun of me because they said it was a soccer mom car, but the design at the time was sleek).
one of the best looking affordable cars. generally I don't like grey, but I think it's the perfect color for this car
It's doesn't come in grey.
Steel Gray is an option@@r3games1985
@@r3games1985it does. they offer 2 grey colors, gravity grey and steel grey
@@r3games1985it does…
@@r3games1985 Not sure where you got that info, GT and GT Manual both come in Gravity Grey, which is their "Grey". They also come in Steel Grey but that's more like their "Silver"
Insane Kia Forte sedan I want to buy Miles.
One point you forgot to mention for VPM(value proposition for the money) is Kia’s 100k mile factory warranty that beats all its competitors.
Great car review!
It is a great deal but you left out the part where it is non transferable and only goes to first owners. So unless u want a big markup it’s not worth it. Better to buy used with low miles. The basic still carry’s thru tho so you will have that
@@Mattratt14the Forte GT is not marked up in my area. One dealership near me was even doing 3k off MSRP. So paying for a new one and getting the warranty seems like the way to go and know that it will be good for 100k miles
My '22 Forte GT has 32k miles and at 16k I "didn't" add a JB4. Only issues are operator error. Definitely adds to the fun for $700 and an added minimum 40HP/TQ. Tires having too much torque is an issue for the 0 to 60 but alas, a 20 or 40 roll is the strong point, while still spinning if too aggressive. I would recommend a Stage 2 or a better clutch. The gear ratios don't do the HP even stock justice. But "stock" and a CAI I love my Forte GT a little more than my '09 Civic D18. I can't think of much to do for it. And it sounds better in person. Backpopping at a light warmed up is satisfying, even in a 1.6T.
Hey i just got this car and i love her!! Got mine in Snow white pearl!
I got my snow white pearl in May on my birthday.
I generally hate white cars, but this car looks really killer in white.
Just bought a 22’ GT w/6MT in Pearl White.
14K miles in my GT manual and could never be happier. Most comfortable vehicle I ever owned. Traded the 2020 Ram Longhorn for this car
a 2020 Longhorn for a Kia Forte is insane to me. But hey, Glad you're enjoying your car.
@@beast_mode_4200I agree but I bet that mpg change makes it better.
@@beast_mode_4200sounds crazy, but I only commute to my office job, pick up groceries, and drop my kids off to school and pick them up. Do I really need a truck for that? And I like something fun and zippy for a change. Mpgs and comfortable ride are sprinkles on top
Not Gono lie. That was a good video and I enjoyed how well it was put together . Not bad.
very attractive price 👍, the nicest one in this family is the European Pro Ceed GT, with the same engine but unfortunately for over $ 40k.
Lol people saying you cant afford that as a first car is crazy. Just dont spend your money in an ignorant way and youll be fine. I have a 24 K5 Gtline and my down payment was $500 and then i financed through my bank instead of through the dealer. Theres more than one way to own a car so dont let the price scare you😂
Fun little car. I'm picking up a GT for sure. Gravity grey
For the value and performance I’d choose the Forte GT. I love the sporty look as well!!!
I can assure you top is 140+
Cheapest new car you can get with cooled seats! That was one of the biggest selling factors for me. Its fairly quick too honestly.
I love my 23 GT2 with DCT
1st of all this kia has functional vents in the front bumper 😊 2nd this car comes with a sport tuned exhaust system and sport tuned suspension wiith multi link rear suspension 👌 and sport steering wheel 3rd the DCT transmission is faster than the manual transmission in this model 0-60 in 6.5 seconds and last you need to improve in your driving skills 😂😂😂😂😂😂 you are killing this car !! 😎👍
I think between the Kia Forte GT and the Honda Civic SI the Forte has a more aggressive looks and has the same HP and Lbs of torque than the Civic SI but the Forte is missing the LSD for a better traction into corners that the Honda Civic SI has ! I go with the Kia Forte GT2 🔥💯 less expensive and better warranty !!
thats a very sport and lovely car
Tune it for under 2k... you get a 91-93 octane ECU tune, cold-air intake and HKS plugs ... you end up with 248kmh topspeed (154mph) and 0-100km 6s or less on the DCT which I own... bangs for the bucks... Under the price of a Civic SI... Golf GTI are no match.. WRX you'll match, basically everything within the 250-270hp spectrum... WELL UNDER THE PRICE
I got myself a used 2018 elantra sport thats slightly modded, short shifter. She backfires i love it so much 😂, inly paid 15k for it too
I love the blue!
My first car was a 2009 Corolla with hand crank windows, all for $12,000 😊
Looks great
i got the manual gt and i love it I learned manual on the car as the trans is vary forgiving for new drivers I learned quite tho as I understood the fundamentals of manual as I ride motorcycle but after about two days I was really confident in it. the only thing I have against it is the it feels kinda blocky shifting into other gears
what a fun car, pretty blue 🚗
I need the Revuelto so badly Man! Plz review it soon.
I'll review it when it's available, for sure.
One thing stands out about this vs it's nearest competition (Civic Si, Jetta and GLI and Mazda 3 (turbo or non) and that is the features it has in the interior, and the Forte GT also undercuts all of them on price. The two things that stick out most are the rear seat air vents and ventilated front seats which are not available at any trim level of the Honda, VW and Mazda. Do the extra features alone make it a better car than the others? No, not at all. It does however make a value statement especially if you consider you can get a fully loaded GT for around the same or even a little less (realistically) than a non-turbo Mazda 3 premium. Of course the Mazda is going to have the better interior look, feel, fit & finish and the better sound system (Bose designed along with the car vs Kia's usual Harman Kardon). but having said that, the Kia isn't horrible inside and will be a little faster 0-60 along with giving you the extra features already mentioned. Oh, and a 10 year powertrain warranty vs the 4-5 years of the others. Those things (and the fact it looks pretty good) make it a compelling choice if you can get a good deal on a new one.
i have the same exact car jus in automatic, it’s dead a fun car for the price n for it being a kia i enjoy it tbh
inside looks great
Perky little sedan. Great value. Thanks for reviewing!
Ordered my 2024 GT Line - Hyper Blue
I’ll get this in feb-March
thanks for the video, i test drove a manual civic 2024 earlier, looking at that, or this car... idk finding manuals is gonna be impossible real soon at this rate, every car gonna have a pos cvt trans that goes out in at BEST 100k, also n ot at all a fan of AWDs. ive been a mechanic 20 years and ive seen soooo many expensive awd failures.
its sucha good car i bought a 2022 gt at 12 miles and it was amazing! sadly i only had it for 6 months until someone decided to run a red light and total my car :( i drive a supra now!!!!!
Nice car❤
i'd get the jetta, but not the gli, the 1.5 turbo. best gas mileage period, first trip 46mpg, 80mph, air on. almost as quick. i have the 2019 and bought it new for $16500, i think it was $21500 list. EIGHT speed automatic and short shifting it is quicker and more fun than a stick. performance these days is measured in mpg, not mph! i had two fortes, a 2010 stick, the rev hang when it got hot was TERRIBLE and a 2015 automatic with what they quoted as 173 hp 2.0 non-turbo. i was out-dragged by a golf diesel. thanks for the video, i like your driving style.
Yeah i live in michigan where my mom is 49 and just bought this as her first brand new car , yes she is almost 50 and in the economy right now im more worried about a house thats averagaing 400k than a car, if they could cheap this thing up and make it 18k like a uses ford focus was back in 2010 . That was my first car .... then and only then will they hit the mark i bought a uses 2010 ford focus in 2012 for 17,500 and it drove all the way til 280,000 miles only had to change the oil , fluids , and the radiator and front suspension was horrible on michigan roads but still if you can give me that small sporty compact car again in todays age then im all in
Hey crew nice reveiw stay away engine fire recall fir this kia
Hmmm… I’ve been a Kia fan since my 09 Spectra in 2009. And I’ve gotten Kia’s ever since. Currently own the Carnival LX with Seat Package and truthfully, I would trade my ‘18 Accord 2.0 MT for this little car. Haha love the way the GT looks.
Kia boys are gonna love this
Kia boys can't steal 2023 models and newer. And they don't know how to drive manual on older models, either
@@DeadofWinter321💯
This is definitely not a budget car in Mexico 🤣. I love this car!
Nice one. Can you do one for Sonata 2024
40th anniversary Jetta GLI can be had for around 28-29k. Way more power, adaptive dampers, and a much broader aftermarket with all sorts of tuning available for that gen EA888 motor. Much better overall value proposition imo. That said, I love what KIA is doing here and am glad this car exists. If I was going for a 200HP 6MT car I think I’d pick this over the Civic Si simply because the Si can’t be had without any dealer markups.
And cloth seats and no rear seat vents... Hard to see how it's a "much better value," and I'M a Jetta owner.
@@xianshep because it has a better powertrain, more cargo space, and better features for around the same price
Ik Hyundai and Kia are like sibling companies but this body seems a lot like the previous generation Elantra sport. Which, in my opinion, is a better looking car. Wish they made the Elantra N for that generation, it would’ve looked amazing
Yep ... I bought the 2023 Kia Forte GT Manual
I would like to point out a problem in the video, the sound is quite low i cant head very well even with full volume using my headset would appreciate if the low sound problem is fixed
Well, i saved a buck and got the Forte GT manual.
I don't know. At that price range you might find some deals for used civic si/focus st?
Focus ST would have to be used, as it's been out of the market for a couple years now. Civic Si's seem to command their price targets, but you might get lucky! I'd still go Civic Si, but I'd be willing to pay MSRP for its steering and gearbox.
A running board would be all this car needs
Yes
I'm only 15 and I can drive a manual very well
Shoulda been “Neon Red” tht’d b a good color!
@MilesPerHr it has torque vectoring, you needed traction on in those corners to feel that 'lsd' effect you said it doesn't have. Little bit of mis information but it's okay 👍🏻
Hmm, I tried that run with traction on and it just cut power the entire time. Even if it has torque vectoring, it's irrelevant if instead of enabling faster cornering, it pulls power. Still a fun car - especially given the price
@@MilesPerHr never had an issue with mine pulling power, if it's pulling power it's slipping somewhere. Driver mod and/or tire mod needed forsure.
@@VackaryZykrutaor driver mode 😊😊
It's a dam shame that so many people are overlooking manual transmissions. I don't know what it is. I would think that a generation raised on video games wouldn't be afraid to use a stick shift. Maybe dealers just don't take the time to teach the potential car buyer. Maybe if they did then buyers would see how easy it is. Sure, they won't get it perfect in a 30 minutes session, but they'd get teh basics and they'll be driving fine in 3 to 5 days.
I hope there is a rebirth of the manual. Nothing beats it if it's paired to the right engine and suspension. The transmission can last a very long time!
Video games provide a virtual experience, as do automatic transmissions - so yeah, pretty easy to understand.
I really wish they would offer it in a Manual in our market
Uhhh did you watch the video?
Where do you live for it not to be offered in manual? 😂
@@Mienboi821510Canada and Australia don't have manual option

Yep. That dry DCT is garbage. Had one in an Optima. Never again!
Finally manual transmission sport car
How’s the manual and the clutch? Is it beginner friendly?
Very friendly. Check out the video for more detail.
I have a forte lxs as a first car. Got it 6 months ago. Someone broke in and tried to steal it 2 nights ago 🙃
Yikes! Glad they weren't successful
Can you film a 2023 Aston Martin Vantage pls
I feel like the german manuals are better, because it's better to learn on because it teaches you how to properly drive one, I drove a civic with a stick and it just felt sloppy, the gear and engagement were not clean as it was in the german manuals.
Unless you have rich parents that pay for it there is no person that can afford $30K as a first car 😂
I think he means by first car they buy on their own, like after college and once career starts. Still hard to obtain but maybe easier than thought with good leases and management of money

Idk im seeing these listed for 23k on a new 2024 model really you cant get anything with 200hp manual close to this price. This is a great car for this price if that's where you have to be or cough up the extra and get to 30k and just buy the wrx. Nothing else to talk about really.
Forte GT manual top speed is 147 👍🏾
This is like 3 generations behind the Hyundais
I think I would go with a Civic Sport Touring
Forte GT has multi-link rear, not torsion-beam
Right you are - I misspoke.
I have the GT Line. Next model down. I got mine for 23,500. You only loose some hp and some of the "fancy" stuff
6000 miles into my Civic SI ownership and I couldn’t be happier!
Can't go wrong with that car!
First time drivers DO NOT need a new car for their first car.
Seems like the perfect eighth car, too.
It's a nice, well made car except for the incandescent, low bumper mounted rear indicators. I just don't see the benefit in doing that, yet now others are following. The 6 speed manual shifts well, however lacks a fuel efficient, low rpm cruising top-gear. My test drive showed 2,800 for steady cruising at 60 mph. That's1979 technology & they did it with 5 speeds. There's no reason KIA didn't give it a big step up from 5th gear for economy & relaxed cruising. Also my local Dealership was insisting on $5,000 over MSRP. Or $30,000. I walked out.
Not only do bumper mounted turn signal look weird, anyone too close behind in slow, bumper to bumper traffic can't always see them. Odd design choice and I'm sure changing the bulbs is unnecessarily difficult as well.
@@jbm0866 Yes, I believe Land Rover started that fad & KIA was the first to follow suit with their Sportage many years ago. I still don't see the advantage, benefits or appeal as opposed to putting them with the other tail lights?
kinda like the Elentra N the best
