    Sorry that the audio is a little funky is this video! Everyone was up in my house doing laundry and running the dishwasher, and I didn't realize my mic picked up so much of the sound! Hope you enjoy anyway!

    I love how honest you are, and how upfront you are showing your work that didnt turn out the way you want.
    Since we are stuck at home and I have skunky hair. Anyway you could do tutorials how you can temporarily color your hair? What’s good with conditioner to just deposit color, etc?

      Thank you! You can try Overtone. I haven't used it personally, but I have clients who use it and it seems to give them good results. I've also used Gem Lites, which worked really well, but the color selection is a little limited. I think Overtone has more options.

    Very cool of you to make this and acknowledge you’re not perfect and this field is one big learning experience! I feel like this is something really hard to do on social media, like everybody only wants to highlight every perfect thing that happens and not show you the reality sometimes... so idk this was neat, especially as someone just getting started in their career. Thanks for sharing 🥰

    I love these kind of videos because sometimes as a stylist, you want to believe that you do perfect amazing flawless work and when you don’t have the outcome you wanted and the client isn’t happy it’s kind of a hard punch to the gut with reality and after lots of crying about not liking the way I did a client or the client wasn’t happy, I’ve had to go into every appointment with the mindset that I’m not perfect and I need to focus and really be diligent because I’m not perfect. Sometimes it feels like I’m the only stylist whose messed up and upset clients before, so these videos make me feel normal.

    I love how you’re so transparent and real with your followers. People think this is an industry where you just become a pro overnight and that is not the case! I wish someone had to me that when I was fresh out of school. The best stylists are always growing and learning ❤️ sending positive vibes to you.

    Omg I haven’t graduated yet, but I am waiting for my final exams’ results. The thing is EVERYTIME I do a foilayage or highlights there is this big disconnection between the front and the back area. I get so frustrated because I always try to use different techniques and sectioning to avoid that, but it still happens. I love doing hair and I’ve always wanted to be a hairdresser, but sometimes I get so dissapointed at myself that I end up thinking “Am I actually good at this? Is this for me?”. Whenever I do hair and it doesn’t turn out as I expect it, I literally think about it for weeks. I just love to make people happy and feel beautiful, so I feel so sad when I realise that I could’ve done things so much better.
    Thank you Sam for sharing this video and your experiences, AND TALKING ABOUT DISCONNECTION AND SECTIONING. I haven’t found many videos on that topic, so I really thought “that’s not a common mistake aparently” . Anyways, your video makes me feel a lot more optimistic on the future💕 Thank you so much✨ (Excuse my English pls😅 is not my first lang)

    None of those were actually bad. There was definitely room for improvement, but nothing you'd look twice at if you passed someone on the street. I've had theoretically experienced stylists do way worse to my hair.

    hey sam :) i love your channel and the way you do hair! i have natural ginger hair which i’d never dye or ruin but sometimes i get so bored with the color when i see everyone around me getting cute highlights and things. i’ve gotten several glosses to enhance the color but i was wondering what you’d suggest to make my hair pop/enhance a little bit without changing the color completely

    Hi Sam! You could also do a spiel about liking your videos. If you watch Christina Randall here on RUclips, you'll notice she always ends her video with "Please like this video, it's a free way that you can help your girl out" and honestly because of that I have learned to always like the videos that I enjoy. Maybe that would also be helpful for your channel!

    The first one If she really didn’t want to pay for the bleaching I would have done a root smudge like a level 5 and dragged it down and used a level 7 rose gold make it all more even. It’s really possible you just didn’t let it sit long enough to fill the bottom!

  • @ivymarie8260

    I love how honest you are! I have a hair question that, how do you get rid of semi-permanent hair color? I made the mistake of dying my highlights pink with the Colorista hair dye and it’s left my hair with a dull orange tint. Will I have to get my hair re-highlighted to fix it?

    • @styledbysamvay
      @styledbysamvay  4 года назад +1

      Ivy Marie you can try washing it in hot water with a clarifying shampoo. Scrub the shampoo into your hair and leave it on for a few minutes. Or try Dawn dish soap. That should help! It may not remove it 100% right away, but over time it should fade.

    • @styledbysamvay
      @styledbysamvay  4 года назад +3

      I have tons of times! Two people in this video actually have very curly hair naturally. Unfortunately 99% of the curly girls I've done wanted their hair blown out straight though, so I don't have any curly after photos :(

    • @Nova-tc6jv
      @Nova-tc6jv 4 года назад +1

      Sam Vay awww ok. I love my curls but it’s really hard to find what works for my hair “type” (color, techniques, etc) so I never do much to it. I love watching your videos btw😘 Especially in these weird times. It’s helping the time pass by faster and I don’t feel so depressed from being stuck inside. I hope you’re staying safe 💕

    This is the worst hair you've ever done? 🤨 I'm gonna guess that these are not /really/ the worst you've ever done lol You probably don't have picture evidence of when you have really messed someone's hair up. Let's be honest...EVERY stylist has royally screwed someone's hair up in the first year or so...to the point of not being able to actually fix it right away. Any who say they haven't are either lying or extremely fortunate. I don't mean any disrespect, but I think saying this is the worst is an overstatement. Unless you're some sort of hair prodigy. I mean you could be. In which case you go girl and ignore me lol 😁

    • @styledbysamvay
      @styledbysamvay  4 года назад +2

      Nope, this is truly it lol. I did have a few clients while I was in beauty school that I would also consider "not my best work" but I already did a separate video reacting to my work from beauty school, so I kept this one for everything I did after graduating.
