- Sharing how I grew my clientele in my first year of being a hairstylist! I literally went from having maybe 5 clients to having a full book in less than a year by following these tips. Keep in mind, your client list won't grow overnight, and it also might not be steady growth. I would have some weeks where I'd be really busy, and the next week I'd only have one or two clients. But as the months went on, I did eventually get to a point where I became fully booked up. Trust the process, keep working hard, and people will come to you!

My story
giving stuff away, what I did was I ran a contest and for every 5 people that you tagged, that was another entry. You had to like and follow my page, and tag people in the post, and in the post I made a collage of ALL my favorite work I’ve done. And then I selected the most popular person who had the most influence on social media and she worked with people ALL day. So I did her hair for free and this post grew my social media by 300 people! And got me 10 color appointments before I ever even picked a winner!!. So I gave away a Shadow Root, and gained SO many people! I recently moved, so I’m doing this again in my new area. I would never do this regularly, but at the beginning of a new social media account it really helped me establish myself online
That's awesome and so smart! There's definitely a strategic way to go about giveaways, but you're not really just giving something away completely for free, because you did get something out of the exchange.

The discount one hit home for me. I'm a tattoo artist and twice a year I used to do giveaways to get new clients in who wanted my style of tattooing (Realism) instead of the usual fine line stuff clients usually want. Every single client I've gained through these giveaways was impossible to work with, cheap, delusional and entitled. Yes I got some nice pieces for my portfolio but almost all of these giveaway clients ended up on my black list as soon as I was done doing their tattoo because they made my life a living hell during the time I worked with/ on them. I'm sick of these discounts and giveaways and I'm never ever doing one ever again as I've learned my lesson. You're right. They never come in after consuming the discount, they just wait for the next giveaway to come. Thank you, amazing informative video!

Thank you for this video! I graduated from my esthetics program in June, and I’m licensed now and trying to work with lash extensions and tinting. I love it but I’ve had such a difficult time getting clients to come in, so I’m excited to use your tips and hopefully see my clients grow!

Great advice! I’ve been a stylist for a while but took time off to be a stay at home mom, starting over in a new town has been hard. My page visits (Instagram shows this for business account) tripled overnight!

Wow! I loved this video a lot! It wasn't just another generic "lemme tell you what to do to get #k followers or $k", but instead preached the truth with helpful tips. I do nails right now and am in a rut because I just moved to a new city and am trying to start doing nails on my own (not out of a salon) during covid and it's been hard finding clients :'( I started making RUclips videos to try getting that creative energy out though lol. I’ve been trying to add my address but for some reason everytime I try to add the city/state it either shows nothing or “no results found”. Not sure why but I always had my salons name in the bio. Oooo I miss having the crossings so close😭 lols. I should go next time I visit my mom. The 1 a day post is where I struggle. Taking pictures in the spa can be difficult so I’m always editing to lighting in all the photos
I just became a certified spray tan artist and I have no idea on what to use for a booking system and a website. Would Instagram and Facebook be enough or do you have any recommendations on what to use thats good for the beauty industry
