- The day started off quite slow and it wasn't looking good. The air temp didn't get above 26 degrees and my hands were freezing. I decided to switch streams after the first stream wasn't producing. I stumbled upon a pod of fish that were all in a small section of stream and they were more than willing to take my stonefly which ended up turning the day into a great day quickly.

I admire your ambition and dedication to make that drive and get out in the cold like that. And sticking it out for most of the day. Good for you!
Thanks Bob! I appreciate the good words.
Good day 🍺
Way to stay with it, Chuck. A little perseverance and pattern confidence paid off. Nice going.
Thanks! Sometimes it's tough mentally to keep at it on days where it seems like it'll be a bust, but sometimes it pays off.
That was a solid day for the winter. Nice job!
Thank you!
Nice day on the water. Isn't it great when you make a switch and it pays off? Nothing better than having a plan B in your back pocket. Nicely done! That brown at 11:11 really looks like a rainbow to me at times because of how red and off the color was. Unique looking fish. Way to go fighting the elements and coming out successful. Tight lines and look forward to the next one!
Yeah, usually when I head out I always have a few back up places in mind. Yeah there have been plenty of fish like those where you think it's a rainbow while fighting it because it looks reddish. Thanks for watching Mike! Look forward to your next video as well.
Always nice to find a honey hole full of fish ! Nice vid !
You got that right! Thanks for watching.
Great vid there, I know you were more anxious to tie into some bigger fish, but there are always days like that on the water no matter what your fishing for. But still you caught some nice trout overall even though they were small! Still a great vid. I would like you to do a vid on fishing streamers sometime, and give us a perspective on how and when to use them! Thanks!
Thanks for watching! Glad you liked the video. I definitely will have more streamer videos to come, but I have a bunch of streamer videos already up on the channel as well if you haven't seen those. Thanks again and there will be more streamer videos eventually.
Are you rocking the “stoned pheasant” variation here or another stone imitation? I’m still in a weird spot in the winter finding a balance on correct bead weights in water similar to what you’re fishing. I’m finding myself feeling like I need shot, and that kinda obliterates the point of heavy tungsten 😂.
Also, commend you on fishing the way you want to and producing content because you love it rather than to get some likes. Too many people out here whoring out great fisheries (often underegulated/unprotected streams) for some likes on RUclips. Speaks on your ethics as a fisherman and man. Big respect brother.
Yup! I was using the Stoned Pheasant here. I try and stay away from split shot if I can, but I definitely use it. I find myself using it more often in the spring when the flows are higher though. The water I was fishing here was probably 2 1/2 feet deep so not too deep. I do more explanation in next weeks video on how I like to drift the stoneflies.
Yeah, like I like seeing more people sub and join the little Brownsylvania community, but that's not my main motivation. I just like producing videos and giving other fly fishermen ideas, suggestions, and content to watch and enjoy. Thanks a lot for the compliments and thanks for watching.
I Love watching your Videos - "one tip for you", the people who seem to get the most views, comments and likes on there fishing videos usually list the stream they're fishing in and access points and they talk about the stream and why they like fishing. A lot of times they show portions of they're hike to the stream and how they approach it at different times of the day. I live in Tennessee and fish here but I'm originally from Pennsylvania and it's always nice for me to learn about a "New" stream in Pennsylvania and to watch someone fish it. We've all fished Slate Run and Penn's Creek and under Covered Bridges and Yellow Breeches Creek and Spruce and Kettle and Cross Forks and Pine Creek etc. and all the "Select Waters" so there are no "Secret" Fishing Spots unless you're on Private Land. You're a GREAT Fisherman and you really know your stuff and I think people would LOVE to hear more about where you're fishing and why you chose that spot and how you learned about it. I think that would engage MANY more people because it would show your love for where and why you fish, not just "How" you fish. THANK YOU for sharing !!!!
I appreciate you watching and enjoying my videos.
I respectfully disagree with sharing where I'm fishing though. A lot of the places I and other fishermen fish tend to be good because of low pressure and we've put in the time to find, research and explore these spots. I started this channel to share my passion for fly fishing with everyone and to share my techniques and hear from others about their experiences and sort of create a little community. It has never been about the most views, comments, and likes. Just a passion for fly fishing and video creation.
@@Brownsylvania Yeah, I totally get that. There are places that I fish that are very personal to me because only a handful of people fish there so there's little or no pressure on native but even George Daniel's shares many of his Fly Fishing Spots in Pennsylvania here on You Tube and he's one the best Fly Fisherman in the Country let alone in Pennsylvania. If you're sharing your passion for fly fishing it one thing but your videos are MUCH BETTER than many people who have thousands of subscribers and they're making extra money from their Passion for fly fishing here on RUclips. Keep you 'Secret Spots" secret and find a couple of "Public Spots" like those PA Select Waters and catch some fish there and post some Videos and you'll get A LOT more Subscribers because you really know what your doing as a fly fisherman !!!
Warm Regards,
David Reuter

I see what you're saying. Like I said though it's not about the views for me really and so I like fishing for wild fish and tend to stay away from stocked trout.
You had a good day. What size stonefly do you tie?
The one I was using in this video was a size 10. Same pattern as last week's video. Thanks for watching!
New to this will the 20lb amnesia rig work on a10ft 2# or should i go 15lb .great videos waiting to get out in the uk seasons starts march 22 .👍
I would probably go down to the 15lb for a 2wt for sure. I used to run 15lb when I first started this setup and that was on my 3wt 10' and it worked perfect. Just not as wind friendly is all. Good luck man!
Are you tight lineing? (Euro style)?
I am tight line nymphing.
Hey Chuck! Nice work. I was a little confused tho, was that recent, cause everywhere over on this side of the state is covered with snow. I feel your pain with the icing issues, but way to go changing it up, going to a different stream, good call! Thanks for sharing.
haha Yeah, this was about 3 weeks ago. My videos lag a few weeks typically. Yeah I was pretty satisfied with the stream change as well. Thanks for watching Scott!
