That was brutal! If a customer came to you for a radiator change out on a 6.4 how many hours labor would you have to quote? Could you do it alone or would it require a helper? That waterfall out of the heater core was a heart breaker. At least you won’t have to gain access from the front that you just buttoned up.
@@AutomedicGarage hell yeah brother, in florida we have to be minimum a dual certified fire 1 and 2 and emt and wildland firefighter. I am good don't plan to get my paramedics. I am currently doing my fire officer and getting into a assistant teaching position to become a full fire instructor.
@@damionjones8944 yea I’m fire 1 and 2, instructor 1 and 2, fire officer 1, ACLS/PALS instructor. I don’t know how much longer I can hold out, feeling burnt out and over it. If your happy don’t get your medic. It may be more money but it’s a ton of aggravation in todays world of EMS.
@@AutomedicGarage yeah the thing is as a EMT I can do everything a paramedic does except sign out the drugs. I can set IV and administer the drugs given to me by the paramedic. So I feel it is not necessary. Because in florida we have the option as EMT to take what they call a additional drug administration course.
those 6.4s are something else, they run awesome, it even took 150k of abuse and neglect from my father and sister-in-law prob only 2 oilchanges the truck still ran great till one day an empty flat can flew up and cut fanclutch wires caused shit ton of havoc and owning 6.0s for over 10yrs i figured how diff can they really be after a decade of headgaskets, oil and egr coolers and lose an injector every 6 to 9 months one 3 diff trucks i figured a 6.4 would be similar they look close on paper but i learned hard way to just say no, i mean fuck no its alot more then piston and dpf issues
Steven Chaffee agreed. They make great power but have a lot of problems. They are risky. 6.0s I love, just gotta do the right things first to truly make them bulletproof.
Handyprepper 6.4 make stupid power, especially with the right tune without any other upgrades but they really were a thrown together motor, wrist pin end of rod wears due to no bushing, early cylinder wall wear due to wash out, if they aren’t deleted dpf problems, rocker arms wear and break. Just to many variables u less you dump money into improving and fixing problems. I’d rather have a 6.0 or a 6.7 personally. I have a 7.3 and love it. Not a fast truck overall but they pull great and last forever and really don’t have any weak points as far as the motor goes, just gotta count on building a quality trans for it.
@@AutomedicGarage the one I'm looking at just had the front end worked on and the dpf is deleted no tune. I wish I could find a 6.7 but there are none in my price rang right now.....
David Logan I think the only knock it has is from the fuel drain back so it’s having the force the air through the injectors at first crank. We haven’t gotten that far yet. Trying to make time to get to do the heater core.
Your conversation with damion jones about your work as a paramedic is interesting. You are a multi talented guy.👍🏻
@@pakkelly you’ll have to remind me who damion is

@@damionjones8944 yea you just can’t intubate, do 12 leads and other cardiac stuff, start EJs, or push narcs.

I'm looking at a 08 6.4 .. I want to pull a 5th wheel for the next year traveling with my kids and wife.

Was that a racin natie lite?
@damionjones8944 down below in the comments one year ago. You two are firefighter emt and paramedic, talking shop.
Can’t here Gary very good. Good videos though. I have 170k on my 6.4 with the dpf deleted and the egr turned off it runs like a champ
Natural light? If I want water I just drink water. Water flavored beer sucks. Lol. I’m a highlife guy myself.
That engine sounds fine delete it if it's not already and run it
