About those trucks: The baseplates are reminiscent of the milled out ones used on Skate One's Aera brand longboard trucks (also a Powell brand). Also, the way the pivot cup is setup looks somewhat like them (see Aera K3/K4). I would guess Powell will either put out an Aera street truck, a Bones truck, an entirely new skate one brand truck, or just maybe a high end mini logo truck. (Although, I would guess against the mini logo branding because mini logo is all about doing it on the budget and those don't look like budget trucks). I would guess that given he isn't using riser pads this time, it might be a standard height truck.
Also, I don't know if this is related or not, but, Zach Doelling was riding some longboard trucks awhile back with the kingpin on the front. I was wondering if they were Powell experimental. He said they were just some old longboard trucks that he had, but, I have to wonder if it was something experimental. This was several months ago. I've seen him skate multiple different recognizable trucks since then, including Venture and Ace. He seems to switch trucks around a lot, and it doesn't seem to affect him much as his tricks look like they are on lock no matter what he's riding.
Looked at the Aera ones. You arpe correct. The baseplate does look similar. It's got the same cutouts along the sides. Those are definitely some sick looking trucks. Would definitely want a set assuming they are priced within reason. They don't look like they would be a very turny truck though with the way the truck plugs into the pivot cup. Would be pretty wild if Powell had a knockout truck, the same way they did Flight decks and Dragon wheels.
Looking at the design, pretty sure they will not wheel bite with these 52mm wheels - they look like they have a hard stop built in that limits the pivot angle. Watching the trucks in slow motion... Andy seems to be maxing out the pivot without wheel bite. Both trucks have a base plate with a "V5" engraved - presuming test version 5. One of the baseplates is engraved with "045" and the other with "047" -- part number or pivot angle ??? Definitely an interesting truck in development.

To a certain extent, the wheels look like Rat Bones, but smaller height. I've been wishing Powell would introduce smaller versions of Rat Bones. Seems like something that is long overdue. Will definitely be getting some of these when they become available.
for the last few years spitfire conicals and mini logo a cuts are my preference. i only hop in mellow park transition nowadays. but those shapes have had my back my whole life. will be buying these new nano cubics as soon as they come out and are shipped here. sometimes my trucks get bashed into the bolts from enough impact on the side. it strips the threading and gets wheels stuck there forever if you let it get too bad like me. really hoping i can notice the covering of the bolt, that feature is by far the most exciting for me who likes to wallie and slappy into back crooks. you guys have the best energy thanks for being so chill about everything. great slowmos as well :)
Yeah, I like the shape of the A Cuts actually. Specifically, I like the fact that they have a slightly wider contact patch than the Bones shapes. The Mini Logo urethane is pretty terrible though. I've been hoping for a wheel with a slightly wider contact patch, but, not as wide as the Rat Bones or G Bones shaped Dragons which are a bit too wide. Something in between would be perfect, I think.
That board shape is even weirder than I realized. Also, those trucks! Love how much Andy and Powell are exploring with all of this stuff. Hope these wheels are available really soon!
thinking about andy's board is like looking into space, riding it feels like home for some reason. the shape is actually really fun because the boxy bits actually support things that need all your weight on that angle of the board, even for street flip tricks.

I like the shape change on the nose/tail on that deck. It looks different then the Heron Egg that is currently out. I hope is next deck comes in different widths tho. I love my Heron Egg but its just a little wider then i would like.
@@75YBA From my understanding they have been doing a bunch of "experimental" board shapes and I believe Andy has had a few changes to the last Heron Egg. Since this one has the full graphic on it tho, I think its safe to say this one will probably be the next one to hit the market.
Here in Germany I made the experience that the softness of a wheel really depends on the temperature. It was pretty warm (not CA warm) in June and my Dragon Wheels felt far softer than I noticed them to be when it was colder outside. I think a 97A wheel will be too hard most of the time in central Europe to be a good overall choice for skating street. In warm regions like California on the other hand, it will probably feel like a 93A Dragon Formula does in a German Summer.
Finally !!!!! I was waiting for those from the time Andy mentioned them at the nine club board set up break down. Nigel your videos are awesome dude ! Cheers from Athens Greece!
dude! those trucks have to come out! that square pivot on the hanger side is ingenious! looks like something i thought of to prevent wheel bite! my idea was to have little adhesive bumpers that stick to the deck and sit in between the base plate and the wheels to stop the hanger right before you get wheel bite.
These remind me of Vision Blurs but those were reversible exactly for the reasons stated. I hope these wheels become super popular. I like the throwback name using "Cubic".
The passion that drips from every single word he says about these wheels is really obvious. Go andy! Carrying on the spirit of rodney mullen but with your own unique style
Yep. This is how wheels were in the '80s for the most part. They were off-center and the axle did not stick out. The full truck was grindable. For the most part the change is the urethane formulation. What comes around -- goes around. Here we go again. Gotta love it!
Designed own decks, now wheels. I guess trucks are next. Such a pleasure to see you creating more possibilities for skateboarding. Coconut wheelie for ever ❤
I have been waiting for these wheels, can't wait for them to be available, hopefully they are also available in dragon formula,so excited! Congrats andy and thank you
Ive been thinking about this exact design element for the last few months since coming back to skateboarding after a 20 year hiatus....but I genuinely desired a wheel like this bc ive been seeing how ppl skate in 2023 and definitely could see this design being needed ....
Coning happens when you're carving and sliding. And depending on your habitual skating it will cone more on different wheels and different angles for you than anyone else over time. All wheels will cone if you skate them long enough.

On hot surface my dragons a bit sticky
Maybe your bushings heated up too
Finally !!!!!
I was waiting for those from the time Andy mentioned them at the nine club board set up break down.
Nigel your videos are awesome dude ! Cheers from Athens Greece!
The attention to detail and enthusiasm that clearly went into these makes them a definite purchase for me.
I'm very interested in this didn't even know it was in development.
George and Andy have been on 🔥
@@NkaVidsSkateboarding I'm excited and I agree. Always innovating somewhere and somehow.
@@NkaVidsSkateboarding he lost at Woodward west. Good reason too. Don't mock the competition.
These are awesome, I’m definitely going to try out those wheels! Also what trucks are those??? they look great!
I was just wondering the same thing
Powell mini logo trucks.
@@marcusprince3999 did they come out with a new model cause those look way different than the mini logo trucks he was originally skating.
@@SnoozeVGC Oh, I don't know; I didn't notice. 'Must've🤷
dude! those trucks have to come out! that square pivot on the hanger side is ingenious! looks like something i thought of to prevent wheel bite! my idea was to have little adhesive bumpers that stick to the deck and sit in between the base plate and the wheels to stop the hanger right before you get wheel bite.
Andy has become Powell's most committed, sincere and innocent skate pimp
What trucks are those? 🤔
Future Mini Logos? Maybe a Powell truck? Aera (also Skate one) make a milled baseplate.
CNC machined it looks like. 🔥🔥🔥
i’ve been wanting a wheel like this for so long, thanks andy
Bro.. so pumped for these omg!!! Sooo sic
These remind me of Vision Blurs but those were reversible exactly for the reasons stated. I hope these wheels become super popular. I like the throwback name using "Cubic".
Love the stoke and the vision! Glad to see the skaters mind pushing development and innovation!
I met Andy like 7-8 years ago. Very cool dude
❤ these!
Definitely gonna buy a set or 2
Your shots on this video are so clear, it’s amazing seeing the slow motion shots
Saw them on Andy's board in Vancouver and was wondering about them...going to my local shop tomorrow to get them to order some👍
Congratulations Andy Anderson!
Keep up the great work and you’re amazing person. I love all of your video you post.
I can feel his passion for skating in this video
man andy is litteraly the only person to invent a realalistic skate shoes and the same for the wheels keep it up andy
Oh boy!!!! Loving my dragons, gonna definitely pick up some of these. Andy is the best!
Thanks for another great video Nigel!
I need these wheels ! God bless and peace to all sk8ers !
Designed own decks, now wheels. I guess trucks are next. Such a pleasure to see you creating more possibilities for skateboarding. Coconut wheelie for ever ❤
Andy is rad🔥
Congrats Andy and I see that board!
Amazing innovation!
I have been waiting for these wheels, can't wait for them to be available, hopefully they are also available in dragon formula,so excited! Congrats andy and thank you
He said they are dragon formula.. They slide too
Andy is killing it
Man that baby heron board with the egg graphic is just way too sick !!! They should bring it out haha
Super happy for you, man! It’s obvious you really care.
Ive been thinking about this exact design element for the last few months since coming back to skateboarding after a 20 year hiatus....but I genuinely desired a wheel like this bc ive been seeing how ppl skate in 2023 and definitely could see this design being needed ....
I love how excited he is about what he made this is awesome
Those look huge for 52mm. Can't wait to try them!
I remember flipping coned wheels. What an awesome video. 🙌🏼
Coning happens when you're carving and sliding. And depending on your habitual skating it will cone more on different wheels and different angles for you than anyone else over time. All wheels will cone if you skate them long enough.
SUCH PASSION❤
