Thanks for the review. Timely because I'm building a new SIM room and that is the model the Benq recommended for my setup. I thought it was very on point when you noted the tradeoff between 4K lower lumens and 1080P higher lumens. Makes me feel a lot more comfortable giving up on the 4k. I do have a question for you not related to this projector. Do you use a gaming PC or a gaming laptop for your room?
Really great info! I'm wondering if you have any thoughts on floor mounting the projector (assuming adequate protective enclosure). This seems like a viable option to eliminate shadows and the potential for an accidental club strike overhead. Appreciate your advice!
I’ve never tried it and it’s probably really setup dependent depending on your space tee to screen, offset or not, ceiling height etc. You would have to go with an ultra short throw projector which might limit your choices there. Also those floor projector enclosures are a few hundred bucks usually. My first choice will always be to get it on the ceiling and out of the way but I’m sure there’s cases where the floor might be a good option.
Love your channel. Was looking to see if there is a BenQ 4K "Golf Sim" projector. I found the LK936ST 5100-Lumen 4K Short Throw Laser Golf Simulator Projector. Curious to know if you'll be able to compare. Hope they send you a free one to evaluate! 😀
Thank you! Yeah the LK936ST is probably the best possible projector available. My guess is there will be an update to it at some point that combines a lot of these features with that level of quality.
As always a great review. Thank you. I have a Sig10 as well. Are you using the projection ratio of 4:3 or are you using a 16:9. Thanks for your response
How does it do with some light? I don’t like hitting with really low light. Also how do you compare this one to TH710St. I know this one is easier to set up but you can get 4K for about same price.
I saw a big improvement when keeping my lights on in my garage compared to my old TH671ST which is 3000 lumens. I don’t feel like I need to turn the lights off as much. I’ve never used 4K so I can’t say if it’s worth the extra computer budget. I would say if 4K is important to you and you have some good lighting control in your space the TK710STi would be a good idea. If 1080p is ok this one checks just about every other box.
@@friendly_golfer I decided to go with TK710STi and 4K. Same price and everything I’ve read made me comfortable with that decision. Setup may not quite be as easy but it has a lot of flexibility just not auto.
In that 12 foot wide setup have you ever run a lefty? Just curious how you'd approach both sides on that width space, I believe you are currently offset for right handed.
I've never had a lefty here. I'm offset about 20" to the right so I think to have a lefty they would be offset the same distance to the left of center. I'd have to have one of the "tee line" style mats where you can hit from anywhere, not just a on a strip. The launch monitor would be a different challenge.
The difference is noticeable, especially with the lights on. I would say it's worth it if you have the budget available. If not then something like the 671st gets the job done just fine and you should spend more on a quality launch monitor. The brightness is definitely an upgrade to the image quality and then everything else is much more convenient.
I don’t think I can answer that unfortunately as I’ve never seen the TK710STi in person and also never used a 4K projector for golf sim. You’ve got 1080p at 4000 lumens vs 4K at 3200 lumens. I’ve literally seen people argue for both sides meaning some say it’s more important to have brightness than higher resolution and vice versa. I went from 3000 lumens to 4000 and it’s a noticeable difference, especially with my garage lights on. I think if you plan to have a really dark room the difference in brightness won’t matter as much though.
The Hook Up did a review and found that the AH700ST was only 4000 lumens when set to bright mode and the colours were inaccurate. The TK710STI was brighter at normal projector output.
I feel like I ask you a question every few months while I am in the long process of getting this whole thing together!! New question! Do you still like this projector??
Lol. I love it. Very convenient. However, I just purchased the BenQ TK710ST to try out but haven't hooked it up yet. They are both close in price so it should be interesting to see if 4K is that much better in a simulator or if lumens are more important.
My biggest complaint with the 4k 700sti is the dull color. I have a Horizon pro that looks gorgeous but its long throw and shadows so I use the 700sti, but its color pallet is terrible.

Thank you! 4:3 so it covers the whole screen.

What is your screen size?
The BenQ AK700ST is the 4K version of this projector and will be launching at the end of the year.
I was hoping they would do that. Hopefully I’ll get to review it too.
any idea of price point?

Another great video!
Thank you!
Great video! I’ve heard this model is small - I also believe it is small enough to fit inside the floor mounts sold by indoor gold shop etc.
Hows the brightness and image quality compared to the 671st? Do you think it's worth the 1k price difference?

Benq AH700st or 4K TK710sti ? Will predominantly use as a golf sim. Any thoughts? Looking for best detail picture & color.

@@Soarbywire have a link to that? Google isnt' coming up with anything. Would like to learn more about that.
What size is your space?
It's 12ft wide x 20+ft long with ceiling that is just over 10ft (can't remember exactly).
@@friendly_golfer Thank you! It looks amazing!

@ awesome. I’ll stick around until you review that before I make my decision. I’m in no hurry haha. Thanks for the awesome info!

Do you think it’s due to the lower lumens? Do you find the colors look richer with all the ambient light off?
