We didn’t! The weight of everything holds it firmly in place- depending on your set up and the permanent (or lack of) nature of your install may make it reasonable to do that. We didn’t need it, the roll of turf is heavy
Great content! Curious if that putting mat is holding up to where you stand when you swing your clubs. I have seen other reviews showing wear patterns where the golfer is standing. Looking forward to your short-term and long-term reviews of your set up. Thanks for all the info...you are helping a lot of people out!!!
We are definitely seeing some wear in our standing zone, but nothing insanely bad. Keep in mind, we are power users (Allen and I hit over 5k shots in July alone) so that won't happen as quickly for everyone else. We are planning on doing a 90 day review video, and part of that will be showing you guys the tweaks we make to our set up to address it!
Great content! Really appreciate the detail you showed on designing a sim. I have a 20ft deep space by 15 ft wide. How far is your hitting area (ball location) to the screen.
Great video. I see you used used ez tee hybrid. What height were your tiles? And maybe you could share a link? Also I’m wondering if it might be better to use a double layer of tiles as hitting strip laying directly on concrete might be a little form. Outstanding job guys
Thanks for watching! Good call on adding the link- we shared it in our first video in the series where we laid the tiles, but have added to the description on this video as well! Here it is so you don't have to search: amzn.to/4eWveTr (affiliate) As far as a double layer of tiles, you can definitely get thicker than we did (.5") but the combo of the EZ tee being roughly 1.25" our tiles at .5 + the MSI turf at .75, it ended up working out perfectly. Down the road we will likely expand our smaller 2'X4' square into a 6'X4' square to help avoid wear marks from heavy usage where we stand. We haven't seen it yet, but it was part of the plan down the road!
Hitting strip is money. We absolutely love it. Zero complaints over here! I’ve hit a ton of balls and no wrist or elbow pain. Can tell when I catch one fat. Definitely the way to go. Thanks for watching! 👊🏼
Yes will update it- looks like Build.com discontinued the cut to length turf. Here is the link to Home Depot: www.homedepot.com/p/MSI-Putting-Green-15-ft-Wide-x-16-mm-Cut-to-Length-Green-Artificial-Grass-Carpet-LTRFRPUG15X100/321622687
We don’t, as we have a good sized driveway and don’t need to park inside. I don’t know that I would recommend it with the way we built our set up, but you could certainly use a hitting mat that would be movable and put it up when you need to park inside! Thanks for watching!
My man had me at, "Dee-walt, there's no other brand"!
🤣🤣🤣
Great video! Thank you........Did you use tape or adhesive on the bottom of the foam flooring?

The ball is about 8ish feet away from the screen. It’s worked out well for us!

I used a carpet knife and it worked great
Not a bad option at all! Thanks for watching ⛳️
I was going to subscribe but DeWalt 🤣
This made me laugh 😂 we can still be friends!!
How does that hitting strip feel after hitting on it for a while? Does it feel true? Looking for options.

@@WeShouldBeGolfing which strip did you use again? How thick is it?
Here is the one we bought- simturf.com/product/ez-tee-hybrid-hitting-mat/
Looks like it is about 1"1/8th thick, which was perfect for our build!
what size did u get the putting green roll 15x12?
Yes, 15X12 was our order!
You sure that was the 71.5" on both those? Also when you said only Dewalt you made me shake my head
Yes on the 71.5- the turf cut turned out great.
Dewalt for life 😂👊🏼 although we have a ton of red and green friends as well 😄
What hitting mat comes in 2x4? Most seem to be only one foot wide
Ours is SimTurf EZ Tee Hybrid- 2X4 is a standard stock item for them. Check out SimTurf.com! Thanks for watching
What turf did you use for the hitting strip?
Ez Tee Hybrid! simturf.com/product/ez-tee-hybrid-hitting-mat/
@@WeShouldBeGolfing What size is yours? These videos are awesome.
@@Rydogg20 The hitting mat is 2X4! Glad you are enjoying the content 👊🏻👊🏻
Your link for the MSI turf doesn't work, could you fix so we can see which one you went with?

Are you able to park your car on it?
