41, I have less time to speak to, but being married for 20 years-can say I wholly agree with you. If I want help solving a problem? **Diamond sharp reasoning, logic, actionable steps?
**All come from the collaboration of me listening to my husbands advice. (He’s much more invested in me than anyone else!) 😂 just makes sense. If I want to vent and not so much to **fix** something? TELL him that first! You’ll stress a man to the gils telling him all about something he can’t fix! (And that’s a compliment, I believe. He wants to keep you safe, and to help. Chivalry isn’t dead, ladies.) ❤ love comments like this and wish I saw more older women handing out sound advice to younger women. It seems the opposite is so prevalent. “You don’t need no man”

Speaking as a lifelong Female, when we are complaining about something, we aren’t looking for a physical fix. We’re seeking an Emotional fix .

@Retro Media She took the cake... one day, I woke up and decided to scrub the kitchen top to bottom... wiped off every surface inside and out... got down on hands and knees with a butter knife to clean under the sill plate to the door even. She came home from work, took one look at it and decided to bake something... she purposely flung flour from one end to the other and left it like that. She was full of contempt and was only happy when fighting with someone.
I was working on the computer one day and tried to copy and paste a document but didn't copy and instead, it pasted her letter to a guy in England, laying out her plans to travel and have an affair with this married man. That was my out and even after 10 years of marriage, I never missed her once. She moved back with her mother and never left. That was well over 20 years ago. No other man fell into that trap.
I now have a wonderful marriage with a wonderful woman. 5 years and counting. No petty arguments, mutual respect and a true friendship.

This is why when women complain to me about anything, before I make an actual response, I ask them if they are looking for a shoulder to vent on or an actual solution 99.9% of the time its the former, but I still ask.
It's good practice and prevents alot of arguments.

There is emotional support (friendship/listening and being in a moment with someone who needs to vent) and then there is physical support (fix/help). It's a good practice to ask which a person is looking for when things come up. As a lifelong woman, I use logic too and I'm not sure of the implication that women don't use logic. Things are just more entangled, perhaps, which makes the logic get muddled. Some people are just idiots (regardless of gender) and should still be treated with kindness.

That's actually the standard I use when determining if I want to have a relationship with a woman. How does she respond to facts and logical reasoning?
If she responds poorly, or expects emotional validation, then I cut my losses and break things off.
I'm looking for a life partner. Not some child that I have to take care of. And if I end up single as a result of this requirement, so be it, I'll be happier for it.
