@@perafilozof since forever 😄 I played turn based tactical games on gameboys, then real time strategies came to be, then they kinda got slaughtered by moba popularity and now, I believe, RTS is up for a second renaissance and mass adoption and popularity. You're doing a lot to make this genre more popular

My dude, I really appreciate the video and especially the links to their Steam pages, I've wishlisted quite a few. A bit of constructive criticism, though: you won't be copyright stricken by saying other games' names. It's nice to know that game A, B or C was inspired by games of yesteryear. It would be even nicer to know WHICH games they were inspired by.
Hello and thank you for the comment and feedback. I am glad to know you have grown your wishlist with these games. As for naming the games these are inspired by, this was done like so in this particular video as I have been doing the exact opposite, what you asked me here, in about 20 previous similar video lists. I personally felt like I needed to change that routine a bit, I also got some comments from developers who don't particularly like their comes compared to old classics people only look at with pink glasses. And so their new games can never objectively measure up to those old ones. So in essence it is a balancing act of how much to compare new games to old to not go over the line and prevent players from trying out new games due to those not measuring up to old ones.

It seems very clearly to be based on Paranoia by Phoenix Arts, which was itself _cough_ "heavily inspired" by Dune 2. A lot of interesting differences, mind - and to those of us who didn't get to play CnC back then, a more than worthy successor, janky as it was.

@@perafilozof the 1st and 2nd I guess has a potential for me because I was playing both Warcraft 1,2 and StarCraft, and Majesty Simulator of the Kingdom and they give a lot of fun. Furthermore, the game at 21:03 looks good, too.
@@perafilozof If i am honest, none :( None of them are that appealing to me except crown of greed, most look like glorified mobile games, sadly. But i will try them nonetheless.
Man this once again makes me painfully aware how far the RTS genre has fallen. All these games look like one-person productions out of boredom at best. Guess the only serious RTS games coming anytime soon are Homeworld 3, which is out already but is said to be awfully short and not that great in general, Sins of a Solar Empire 2, which is basically just a graphical- and engine overhaul for the most part and that game from former Command & Conquer people, forgot the name, which unfortunately plays more like Red Alert 3 than Tiberium War, which is how every ground-based RTS should feel like. Well, space-based ones as well actually. Frustrating...

First 3 have been done before not sure the first 3 are unique enough for me and the 4th will give me a visual headache. Shrot is Dune from westwood. The 5th is war Mongrels. Regiments though I own the original and saw the post about the changes/new game look. The balance I leave to others. Hard work putting this vid together u have a bazillion edits. Nice work 😊

So as an lover of RTS all i see is mobile crap and c&c ripoff (yes it looks like generals) only promissing game for me is crown of greed ( reminds me of warcraft orks and humans ), 63 days its like oldscool commando. i will keep my time in RA YR, or generals. Hi, this is a list of indie games for the most part, and many are made by one or two people. So graphics is the last part to expect from them. Try to go into the list with gameplay first as your moto.
I realize today that I don't like RTS games... I only like Age of Empires 2, 3, Mythology, 4, Warcraft 3, and Lord of the Rings Battle for Middle Earth 2. That's it. I like slower paced macro RTS experience, I can't stand these 3 faction micro heavy RTS games.... Not a single RTS game made now is slow paced, focus on many many diverse civs, and focuses more on macro.
I also exclusively play RTS games in offline mode. So I enjoy replayability and LOTS of civ options... which having 3 civs and like 1-2 maps doesn't cut it dudes.

yes brother, I'm not disappointed with the video itself, but with the poverty of quality in the gaming industry. Among this list, we have Manor Lords which is very good.
The influence of older games is very obvious in more than a few of these. Also, graphics aren't everything, pointed out by your own comment how older games are good.

I realize today that I don't like RTS games... I only like Age of Empires 2, 3, Mythology, 4, Warcraft 3, and Lord of the Rings Battle for Middle Earth 2. That's it.
I like slower paced macro RTS experience, I can't stand these 3 faction micro heavy RTS games.... Not a single RTS game made now is slow paced, focus on many many diverse civs, and focuses more on macro.
I also exclusively play RTS games in offline mode. So I enjoy replayability and LOTS of civ options... which having 3 civs and like 1-2 maps doesn't cut it dudes.

yes brother, I'm not disappointed with the video itself, but with the poverty of quality in the gaming industry. Among this list, we have Manor Lords which is very good.

what a bunch on s.... games.... older games are better, hope they learn from them.
The influence of older games is very obvious in more than a few of these. Also, graphics aren't everything, pointed out by your own comment how older games are good.
