Dem pearls: 1. Overall, accelerate as you start from the floor 2. Follow the same technique each time. The three accessories 1. Training your upper back for strength: (15:00) Barbell- GHD machine with a focus on 'upper body activated in a back squat position' and go up to 45 degrees. 2. Strengthening your quads: (20:30) Practicing front and back squats to train the quads for the right positions and dynamic strength 3. Strengthening your traps and calves: (25:53) Weight lifter's squat with a contact at quads- a cue to go onto toes and activate traps (shrugging). I think this also trains body mind coordination to go into triple extension while actually lifting.

Impressed that he says you will spend 2 months preparing the body. Lots of people would tell you to just go in and throw weight around but he mentioned several times the importance of staying safe and being able to safely hold positions. NOTHING is more demotivating then getting injured. I didnt start lifting weights until late in life and not knowing what I was doing, I ran in and had a pretty rough injury. Immediately lost motivation. I healed up and got a coach specifically to learn to safely mover weights and haven't stopped first. Ive grown to really enjoy training quite a bit. You feel so much better after training.

The reason Klokov is legendary is because even though he only a world champion once and a silver Olympic medalist once, he completed in a very fierce 105 kg. And I mean the the toughest 105 ever was for like 7 years and took an international medal every year except 1. And his body was broke and busted half the time. And he is one of the main people expanding the sport today.
Most of the guys he lost to only had a good 3 or 4 year run each. He just kept trucking. And he never really got busted for drugs. Although most people think he and Russia faked his injury in 2012 to dodge drug testing to TRY to prevent Russias weightlifting from getting banned like they did in 2016 and are in 2020 (except in 2020 it's all sports).

Watching this has me feeling some type of way. Being in the bodybuilding community, competing, has burnt me out. I've taken a break and just don't see myself going back anytime soon. Focusing on flexibility and functional strength have been my go-to for awhile now. This has me feeling excited again though. I don't know what that means, but thank you for this video and the information. 😁😁😁

Fitness is way more rewarding than bodybuilding. Ive been lifting for ages, not competing, and I feel worn out! I started seriously three years ago and I'm already spent. I think I'm going to focus on functional fitness now. It just feels more rewarding.
