That said the holistic training regiment these guys have focusing on cooperative muscle groupings and the connective mechanics does something special to the concept of strength. When Brian said that core and back strength has everything to do with benching when he doesn't train for bench goes a long long way how we perceive strength training. This doesn't even touch on tendon condition...good stuff so much to learn here.

I bragged abt the importance of back strength for bench -and I still believe that, that is more myth than reality. Yet when we talk abt bench much more important are shoulders. If Brian can shoulder press over 200 kg noone should be surprised to see him bench over 200.

    • @911shan

@@blazkowiczincorp7217 I think, upper back, Shoulders and Triceps are all important in order to build a good chest. Because these are the parts that engage in chest exercises. @@911shan thank you for your advice, as I been pointing up I am already overpowered so to speak related to back muscles and this does not make me good bencher. I did ignore my shoulders or did not work so much for them this is true, although I am still at about 65-70% of my bench strength for military press which seems to be the normal standard ratio so it seems my shoulders are not much underdeveloped, but still my op back muscles (compared to frontals) do not compensate this like at all. As for triceps I can do barbell extensions with my bodyweight, full motion sets of 6 reps (probably not many are able to do that) so I think I developed my triceps strong enough already. I also have long arms this might be a problem dunno anyway point is for me back muscles do not help much. I tried the standard way to bench to imply most of the back muscles in bench and it does not give better results. Does back muscles give you bench strength? Probably 2% nowhere close to 10% or 20% or more. Id like this supposition to be false for me so I would bench more but no, numbers don't lie.
