I have been saying the exact same thing. You are considered an adult at 18, you can enlist in the army at 18, you can buy cigarettes at 18 but you cant drink? That makes no sense. They need to either lower the drinking age to 18 or raise the adult age to 21 legally
I waited until 21 to drink. I am a minority. I have never done drugs or smoked. I had 2 boyfriends and 1 turned out to be my husband married for 10 years and 2 kids. I didn’t come from a Christian home. My parents didn’t have college degrees. Both worked multiple jobs at a time. I came from a family with a history of doing drugs, alcoholics, smoked cigarettes, abuse, etc. I’m the only family member on both sides with a bachelors degree. I became a Christian in my early 20’s. Always felt God by my side and protecting me.

I'm Eastern European. I got my first drink when I was 3 months old when my parents dunked my pacifier in a champagne for New Year's Eve, lol. A few times when we were traveling to the areas where drinking water wasn't really safe, my parents would give me red wine (I was 7 or 8). By the time I was 13 I was drinking champagne and wine once in a while. And NO, I'm not saying everyone should do it... and no, I didn't end up being hooked on alcohol. But I learn to appreciate THE TASTE. I can pair food with wine very well, and I enjoy the flavour of different alcoholic drinks a lot. I consider myself to be a very cultured European lady. It's all good as long as you don't abuse alcohol.
