I often watch while in the hospital or while I'm very sick as a bright spot in my day. You make me laugh when all i want to do is cry. I have tickets to see your show in Portland this Dec and I just hope I'm still alive and mobile enough to attend. Didn't see an option to buy a meet and greet ticket in my city but just seeing the show is good enough for me! That guy is extremely funny, but he shouldn't be talking about politics. He votes for the Democratic Party which means he is naive and uninformed. Trump is a disgusting character, but he is less evil than the Democrats. A guy should deal with subjects in which he can shine.
It is bizarre to me that crowd size shaming hurt Trump, but being called a rapist doesn't. Everyone I know would be waaaaayyyy more upset about being called a rapist.
He thinks of it as being a playboy. Trumps crowd size is an extension of his ego. She told him that no one really likes you, it’s all a fallacy. That is ego death. For a man that selfish knowing that what you are proud of most is a lie and terrible.
Once you realize that Trump is a malignant narcissist it all makes perfect sense. He doesn't care about other people. He only cares about himself. Americans having health care doesn't matter to him. He didn't care when hundreds of thousands of us died from Covid. He's certainly not giving a damn about anyone fighting cancer or heart disease. He doesn't care about women. He feels it's his right to rape and sexually abuse them. Having a large crowd of adoring supporters does matter to him. His ego needs it. Demands it. That's why he "spiraled" when Kamala brought up his rallies and folks leaving early. That's why he has to lie to himself about the size of Kamala's rallies. It's why he lies about almost everything. And if Kamala can manipulate him so easily, for someone like Putin controlling Trump would be a walk in the park.

She has let people dig their own grave before, it's clear. She handed him the shovel, she asked him to keep going, she ever-so-gently encouraged him to keep going. The fact that he didn't know what to do in that situation is _the best part,_ actually. You'd think he should know not to keep digging. But he never thought he was going to run into someone with experience in ego might roll up and not abide by the gentlemen's agreement to not poke at it.

As a Springfield citizen, I can't tell you how much I appreciate finally seeing someone use their platform to address the absolute insanity and disillusion of what's going on. My daughter isn't going to school tomorrow because her school was locked down for a third time in a row. 5 minutes ago I argued on the internet with a past teacher of mine who claims she loves her Haitian students but is voting Trump because "he's going to do something about the immigration problem". People in my community who have actually earned my respect for their minds and hearts are looking past their own common sense to help an Entertainer win HIS game of OUR lives. I just want the truth to be heard from the heart of this mess Trump has created in my city.

some great comedians are performers, some are writers, some are great at improv. This man is creating and writing as he performs. Its truly a once in a lifetime talent to witness. And he has much more ahead of him to show you than what you've seen.
I'm pretty sure he has most of this written out, he may ad lib here and there, but he's no Matt rife. Take note, I think both are great comedians, but Josh Johnson is a much better writer, Matt rife is much better at crowd work. Both, I'd say, are great at improv because crowd work requires that and Josh on Trevor Noah's podcast really shows me he's quick on his feet in a conversation to make a great joke
What's sad is how many of us DO know what we look like to other countries...but we can't do anything about the insane misinformation and propaganda that so many believe.
This transcends comedy. This is insightful social commentary that happens to make us laugh... this is the kind of meaningful stuff that builds a legend that lasts long after you're gone... very Carlin-like. Not just entertaining us while thoroughly entertaining us. It's unbelievable that we get CD-ready headline level work as just a typical mid-week upload. You never stop impressing. Just when we think you're "this awesome" you're like, "wait, I got more..." Prolific, hilarious, and meaningful. I watch a lot of standup and you really are as good as it gets, the complete package.
I do not find it Carlin like. Josh needs way more distrust of the government and Carlin's stories were far more direct in their delivery. Carlin later did lots of boundary pushing and exploration of language. Josh is entirely his own type of comic, very good in his own right.
I felt bad I didn't stay late after the show for the meet and greet, when I went - I had work the next day and it seemed like most folks were staying and that was the better choice.
When Josh was in Philadelphia in June, I had a handicap ♿️ bus related schedule situation, and was devastated to need to get up during Josh's set to leave early. I wss so embarrassed and confused... it was imperative that I confirm my bus ride before the show ended... and as I got up, to sneak out, with my cane, my cellphone flashlight came on! Oh no!!! And Josh was about to end his set! I couldn't shut off the flashlight, so, I shoved my phone into my purse! It glowed as I hobbled out. Confused, definitely! And I'll never get over it.
My thoughts on this are because his humor and life stances are obviously liberal and that basically alienates literally half of your potential audience. I watch all his videos I enjoy his stand up but it can be kind of lame when it feels like he’s just pandering do one group

Interviewer: "Donald Trump talked about eating dogs and cats on a debate stage it was you senator who first elevated this baseless rumor so why are you putting them at risk by continuing to spread claims about Haitian immigrants despite officials in your state saying that there's no evidence and pleading for you to stop?" JD Vance: "...my constituents have brought approximately a dozen separate concerns to me 10 of them are verifiable and confirmable and a couple of them I talk about because my constituents are telling me first hand..." While the Rumsfeld reference is fun the reality of the interview was certainly not a neutral question from the interviewer, and the answer did include claims that could be verified or disproven. Sadly the interviewer did not press him on what the 10 verifiable claims were and how they were verified but interviews are about soundbites rather than discussion to reach the truth...
This young man just said something completely brilliant! " IF YOU COULD FIGURE OUT BIG PROBLEMS IN 90 SECONDS, WE PROBABLY WOULDN'T HAVE ANY...." Thank you Josh... For showing us what wisdom sounds like!
This! Our BIG problems - affordable housing, inflation, affordable education, immigration, healthcare, shrinking middle class, etc - are big, multifaceted problems with many contributing causes that are going to require multifaceted solutions, attacking the problems from many different aspects. Those things can't be fixed with a one-size-fits-all single policy. Trump says, "I alone can fix it," and has zero actual policy plans, or his plans are so simplistic and poorly thought out (a 200% tariff on Chinese imports???) that he NEVER looks at the negative ramifications of his knee-jerk reaction plans. Oh, you're going to round up 11-15 million people and pull them out of the work force and transport them to detention camps? Who's doing the rounding up? Where's the infrastructure for detention and transportation? These folks will need food, shelter, medical. They have kids that were born here-- where do they go? Foster care is overwhelmed and breaking up families, pulling kids out of schools is grotesque. They will need legal representation -- we are constitutionally required to provide it, and our courts are overwhelmed -- where's the plan for that? How will you manage the fall out in the construction, agriculture and hospitality industries when those corporate lobbies are left with crops rotting in the fields, homes that can't be built and nobody to landscape your golf course? There are no simple solutions to complex problems, and he is utterly unqualified to address any of it.
So long since I came across the intelligence and originality of a comic who does not rely on swearing and shock to get a laugh. And even more rare an underlying compassion for the human state that includes everyone. Thank you Thank you

I totally love your commentary on how long presidential debates used to take, before they were televised. I was a philosophy major, and there *was* this certain time in history, where people were trying to be as informed and thoughtful as possible. And the stakes were treated as real, not just a soundbite or advertisement. There are people who truly *fight* for dignity, compassion...not with fists, but with *language*, words, thoughts. And laughter.

The threats came from overseas. They were all fraudulent threats. The very real suffering that Kamala and Biden are inflicting on cities across the US with illegal immigration is far more concerning. It is horrible that the media ignores that and attacks Trump to the point that there were two attempts on his life.
This is why we need to Vote for Jill Stein and the Green Party. Both Harris and Trump will not stop genocide because they are paid not to stop it but let it continue. It is bizarre to me that crowd size shaming hurt Trump, but being called a rapist doesn't. Everyone I know would be waaaaayyyy more upset about being called a rapist.

Once you realize that Trump is a malignant narcissist it all makes perfect sense. He doesn't care about other people. He only cares about himself. Americans having health care doesn't matter to him. He didn't care when hundreds of thousands of us died from Covid. He's certainly not giving a damn about anyone fighting cancer or heart disease. He doesn't care about women. He feels it's his right to rape and sexually abuse them. Having a large crowd of adoring supporters does matter to him. His ego needs it. Demands it. That's why he "spiraled" when Kamala brought up his rallies and folks leaving early. That's why he has to lie to himself about the size of Kamala's rallies. It's why he lies about almost everything. And if Kamala can manipulate him so easily, for someone like Putin controlling Trump would be a walk in the park.
Because those people are normal and Trump is not!

As a Springfield citizen, I can't tell you how much I appreciate finally seeing someone use their platform to address the absolute insanity and disillusion of what's going on. My daughter isn't going to school tomorrow because her school was locked down for a third time in a row. 5 minutes ago I argued on the internet with a past teacher of mine who claims she loves her Haitian students but is voting Trump because "he's going to do something about the immigration problem". Take note, I think both are great comedians, but Josh Johnson is a much better writer, Matt rife is much better at crowd work. Both, I'd say, are great at improv because crowd work requires that and Josh on Trevor Noah's podcast really shows me he's quick on his feet in a conversation to make a great joke

This is insightful social commentary that happens to make us laugh... this is the kind of meaningful stuff that builds a legend that lasts long after you're gone... very Carlin-like. Not just entertaining us while thoroughly entertaining us. It's unbelievable that we get CD-ready headline level work as just a typical mid-week upload. You never stop impressing. Just when we think you're "this awesome" you're like, "wait, I got more..." Prolific, hilarious, and meaningful. I watch a lot of standup and you really are as good as it gets, the complete package.

I do not find it Carlin like. Josh needs way more distrust of the government and Carlin's stories were far more direct in their delivery. Carlin later did lots of boundary pushing and exploration of language. Josh is entirely his own type of comic, very good in his own right.

Well, when they had a long day, he's the last set of the night, they tired as hell... it happens.
I felt bad I didn't stay late after the show for the meet and greet, when I went - I had work the next day and it seemed like most folks were staying and that was the better choice.
When Josh was in Philadelphia in June, I had a handicap ♿️ bus related schedule situation, and was devastated to need to get up during Josh's set to leave early. I wss so embarrassed and confused... it was imperative that I confirm my bus ride before the show ended... and as I got up, to sneak out, with my cane, my cellphone flashlight came on! Oh no!!! And Josh was about to end his set! I couldn't shut off the flashlight, so, I shoved my phone into my purse! It glowed as I hobbled out.

Our BIG problems - affordable housing, inflation, affordable education, immigration, healthcare, shrinking middle class, etc - are big, multifaceted problems with many contributing causes that are going to require multifaceted solutions, attacking the problems from many different aspects. Those things can't be fixed with a one-size-fits-all single policy. Trump says, "I alone can fix it," and has zero actual policy plans, or his plans are so simplistic and poorly thought out (a 200% tariff on Chinese imports???) that he NEVER looks at the negative ramifications of his knee-jerk reaction plans. Oh, you're going to round up 11-15 million people and pull them out of the work force and transport them to detention camps? Who's doing the rounding up? Where's the infrastructure for detention and transportation? These folks will need food, shelter, medical. They have kids that were born here-- where do they go? Foster care is overwhelmed and breaking up families, pulling kids out of schools is grotesque. They will need legal representation -- we are constitutionally required to provide it, and our courts are overwhelmed -- where's the plan for that? How will you manage the fall out in the construction, agriculture and hospitality industries when those corporate lobbies are left with crops rotting in the fields, homes that can't be built and nobody to landscape your golf course? There are no simple solutions to complex problems, and he is utterly unqualified to address any of it.

People can claim anything about anyone, unless there's actual evidence to START an investigation, saying it could be the truth is generally what we consider not worth anyone's time, and if it's targeted towards a racial group then it's also considered racist.
That was so thought provoking as much as it was funny. In the context of Trump being an entertainer, the eyes widening at the boring and exhaustion line makes so much more sense. Not reacting because he talks about Hannibal Lecter. Not reacting when he talks about windmills causing cancer. But THAT line about crowds leaving hit him in that moment so hard that you could see it. I feel silly I hadn’t thought of it that way before, but thank you for bringing it to the attention of those who haven’t. Wow. Josh Johnson is a master of his craft. Well done.

I totally love your commentary on how long presidential debates used to take, before they were televised. I was a philosophy major, and there *was* this certain time in history, where people were trying to be as informed and thoughtful as possible. And the stakes were treated as real, not just a soundbite or advertisement. There are people who truly *fight* for dignity, compassion...not with fists, but with *language*, words, thoughts. And laughter.

The threats came from overseas. They were all fraudulent threats.
The very real suffering that Kamala and Biden are inflicting on cities across the US with illegal immigration is far more concerning. It is horrible that the media ignores that and attacks Trump to the point that there were two attempts on his life.
Community events like Culture Fest are being cancelled as well. It is wild to think something like that could happen in my home town.
This is why we need to Vote for Jill Stein and the Green Party. Both Harris and Trump will not stop genocide because they are paid not to stop it but let it continue. They will not improve our healthcare system or Tax the rich because they are paid not to do it. They are paid for by Big corporations and lobbying groups. Wake up. We need to vote for a Party that will actually represent us. They have shown us they are hypocrites and don't do as they say they will. Vote for the party that is funded by the people and has the incentive and the courage to actually do right by the people.

Josh is so funny, but he's exceptionally intelligent in his humor. His timing, honest, truthful "you can't male this shit up" is perfect!
