Ever since pod 042 and pod 153 mentioned “never to make 9S and A2” meet each other due to the death of 2B, causing his humanity and childlike nature to spiral revenge and his lust for her driving him on to do what he does. It creates tension for this specific segment wanting both A2 and 9S to not meet each other as pods advised because the player is possessed conceded for 9S sake. After A2 hears the commotion in the tower pod, she tries to distract her, but it isn’t working. Pod is currently nervous since they’re probably aware she’ll reunite with the blood-lusted 9S. After this part starts, the constant shifting in characters and them progressing up gives me goosebumps to this day watching them fight, starting with A2 viciously attacking everything and then 9S using jet. Both characters share aggressive traits: A2 in her attacks and 9S in his tone and attitude. Then, at the end, the 9S, who swore Vengeance for 2B, is forced to work with the same person who slaughtered her, reminiscent of the days 2B and 9S fought together. The music is so beautiful done for this moment. Ever since I’ve finished Nier, I have been fixated on this exact moment and are awaiting my next 5 sets of play-throughs. Thank you, Yokataro.
