@@Heroisback92192no more than shadow lord trying to save both his sister and humanity as a whole. Even if humanity was more of a optional save in his pov i guess.
@justhereforpeace Both of them are Nier to me. Only difference in their approach is that Shadow Lord was too far gone to try and speak with them using Popola and Devola.
@@Heroisback92192 to me, they were both too far gone. Shadowlord never considered the replicants as anything more than spare bodies that had begun killing their owners, and so he felt no guilt over killing them. Nier never saw them as anything more than monsters that would indiscriminately kill humans, and so he felt no guilt over killing them. After all, how could you possibly sympathise with the creatures that had brought you so much suffering? They were two broken kids desperately trying to protect what was dear to them, and as a result, refused to acknowledge or sympathise with the other sides despair and desperation.
Saw this live after being a fan for years at the theater. Took my stepfather to it, who has never played a video game but is big into his church choir. He’s newly 70 and wept. Understandable really.
If my soul sings just one song for all eternity, it would be this. It is both haunting and beautiful, sorrowful yet hopeful, and profoundly divine - with a sense of impending doom. It is so transcendent it feels indescribably humane. To me, it resonates with the deepest aches of my being, and it speaks to man's eternal quest for meaning that often results in an endless battle with his own dark reflection - his own 'shadow'. Just as Nier fought Shadowlord to find that he had been trying to vanquish his own soul all along, thus dooming all of human civilization - what if the people and the things we despise point to a chasm in our own self, our own humanity? I wonder if Yoko Taro reads Jungian psychology, because the whole lore of Nier Replicant and even Automata can be the perfect allegorical narrative of the Jungian Self, Persona, and Shadow.
The world fell, and they watched it all, Twins born of ruin, from rise to fall. A boy and a girl, with hollow delight, As shadows gathered to snuff the white. The network still whispered, a ghost in the air,The shadowlord struck with a desperate glare. He had his sister, his people, his aim,But rules of men were a tiresome game. Justice and vengeance, a twisted blend,In a world forever struggling to mend. The sweet girl offered a cookie, a smile,A lunar tear glistened, if only for a while. Hatred surged, but hope lingered still,An endless cycle, an unbroken will. The atonement long, a tale unspoken,The ouroboros lives, though all is broken. Strife and despair, yet fleeting light,They held the world, though it slipped from sight.Forever turning, forever bound,In endless cycles, hope is found.
Reminds me quite alot of the remix of the original Shadowlord track made by ShiroiYuriNoOtome, the theme varies almost on the same notes she had chosen back then. Very good indeed.
Dear Broch, you made a wonderful piece, but there's only 1 video in your channel. I insist you to make another songs with your skills and efforts for the sake of human being. Because your edition actually helps my daily work & improves my work quality
Ive never played, but from the outside to a person raised occultist 2B reminds me of libra which is the sign of duality of moralism. the balance of universal checks and balance's was her sword and scale. blind to the aesthetic masking of class or marital form. and when you stand before her she will test you're heart to see the weight of its guilt and that will determine you're fate.
Just letting you know, this music is from prequel to game where 2B appears. I know you said you did not play- i presume Automata where 2B appears, but this track is not music from that game.
This fight is crazy to me cause it made me realize that Nier's hatred for shades and wanting to save yonah accidentally caused him to make humanity go extinct because he killed Devola and popola, the people who created gestalts. In the end, you were never a triumphant hero saving the word like you thought you were. You are the monster, this whole time.
Devola and Popola didnt create Gestalts, they were created by the Humans themselves. Their duty was to oversee that the whole process of Gestalts merging with Replicants is successful. Also, there are multiple Devola and Popola androids all over the world. The entire game is just a series of tragedy, where everything that can possibly go wrong in the grander scale, goes wrong.
This is the fight when u understand for sure u are no longer the hero, u never were and it is too late to stop.
Nah, nothing more than a big brother saving his little sister. Nier will always be a hero to me.

6:58 is so perfect. It's feels like it wants to reinforce the idea that this fight isn't over and that it will never be over.
I want to play this game again... Jeez... It's so beautiful.

thank you. I've planned to make more mixes of nier replicant soundtracks. I couldn't reach into it until I fixed my workspace.
I don't listen to the Nier Replicant ost, but this is awesome
nice

Nice try, but probably should have done a bit of research beforehand. This is from Nier Replicant. 2B is the protag of Nier Automata.
