I suggest you check out the Omega Pacific SBG, rig it with a prusik on an 8mn rope, allows for smooth rappelling, provides a backup. I bought it for a backup for the Madrock . Now I prefer it .

I'm thinking when i start one sticking in gonna try a figure 8 and a auto block. If nothing else saving the $100 and not sacrificing safety

The SafeGuard instructions say to not tie on the BRAKING end. You can back it up above it. Just sayin’. Hunt safely my Friends!
