Our machine was putting out cold water and it came out after just hitting the "on" button. After a reset it gave me 3 correct cups of hot water. So, so far so good...
My K-50 is 5yrs old or more. Only 1-request to clean it. I did paper clip but nothing fell out. I did the power thing and still only get 'almost' 8OZ. I will keep testing. At least I get coffee, I just run it twice then move another cup to catch extra water. Thanks for this Tip, some tips help and may depend on model K-Cup?
I was on the phone with Keurig customer service for a while this morning with them having me try all kinds of troubleshooting and nothing they said helped! They finally said “we’ll give you 20% off and free shipping if you want a new one, yours can’t be fixed with troubleshooting.” I found this video, reset it once and BOOM it works like new! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!
It worked! My machine would spit out a couple of drops of water and the it would turn itself off and shut down the power. I was like.... NOOOoooooo!!!!! So I figured RUclips would be a good source for reset information. Yours was the first and only video clip I needed. Thank you so much!!! H.
For the people using vinegar. BE MINDFUL over time. You will develop that vinegar taste. Vinegar is a very strong in potency and in taste. Overtime you can condition your water tank by introducing it to vinegar the strong residue it leaves behind even after rinse. So while it does clean. It wouldn’t be good for that good cup of coffee taste you come to love.

After I use the vinegar, I run 6 reeivours of water through the machine. I have had Keurigs ever since they first came out & have never had that happen,. By the way, I can't stand the smell or taste of vinegar, so that's why I rinse it so well & it DOES work! Then I run the water container through the dishwasher, after I rinse it. So there is NOT any residue left in it, as well....
This absolutely worked. I tried everything. Blowing air to clear the pump, clean out the needle, every part. When I unplugged and held the power button. I am getting full cups of coffee. Thanks for sharing. 😊

OMgoodness! Checked and cleaned the needle but nothing built up on it. No grounds. Cleaned the water reservoir drain. Not plugged. Ran vinegar n water to descale, no hard water deposit build up. Finally saw your video. I reset it per your instructions. It took 4 times to be able to make that second, then third etc without resetting it! Thank you! That’s $80 still in my pocketbook, thanks to your video.
I had similar thoughts and tried various procedures using different buttons and combinations of buttons, but no success. Finally, I just unplugged the machine, shorted the hot and neutral prongs on the plug and left it unplugged overnight. This morning it is working properly. My wife bought a new one because I didn't get to the job fast enough and she was ready for something that worked properly. My bad. I rarely use the K because I roast an grind my own coffee, then brew in the Technivorm I bought 14 years ago. Now that's a simple and well made product. I don't need all the bells and whistles, or a little extra convenience in order to use overpriced coffee.
I called for the blinking lights. They went through there ideas descale etc. But out of desperation I held the button for 1 min straight. While it blinked etc. The i let go. Let if rest 2 mins. All buttons shut of. I pressed the button. Boom. It worked. And has stayed that way. Lol
Thank you. The paper clip trick worked for me! The water kept recirculating but as soon as I cleared the top holes out it came out so have a cup ready.
One day my display showed the largest size cup and Ready to Brew. Press brew, nothing. Go into menu to reset cup size, was already correct at medium cup, exit menu and showed largest cup. Nothing happens when I hit brew. Found your video, turned off, unplug, while holding down the brew button plugged back in, released brew button, turned on power button, All Fixed! God Bless You!
I wonder how many perfectly good Keurig's are thrown away (and millions of other computerized stuff) needlessly, all because they need the logic resetting. Mind you from the upsale tactics, I think this is understandable, I mean how does a coffee company (or any other co) stay in business if they cant sell new products?

Today, my Keurig B70 model stopped dispensing water. I tried unplugging and restarting it several times, and still no water flow. I looked online for some suggestions, and I tried a few. Most importantly, I now had more problems. Only one LCD screen with all the cup sizes was displayed, and all the lights were flashing blue (normal) but when I would try to make a cup size choice and press a button, the LCD screen would turn off. If I pressed the button again, the LCD screen would light back up. I decided to call Keurig customer service, and the rep said I had too many problems, but she would offer me 20% off on any model online. I told her I wanted to think about it and also try to work on it again later in the day. Tonight, I looked online for more suggestions, and this video was the first one that popped up. I copied his directions, and I went and tried them. MY KEURIG STARTING DISPENSING HOT WATER ON THE FIRST ATTEMPT. I now decided to run some vinegar thru the system, and it is working flawlessly. THANKS FOR SAVING ME MONEY, TIME AND AGGRAVATION. TOMORROW MORNING I WILL HAVE A GREAT CUP OF COFFEE!
Ours works, but only makes 3/4 cup of coffee sometimes only half. I will try resetting it in the morning. I got it for $10 .It said prime. I used a turkey baster on the base where the water tank goes and it started working fine. Then I cleaned it really well. My guess is the calibration is off now. Hopefully the reset should give me a full cup again. Thanks for the tip!
My problem is I tried to make 12 cups and I could only get 10. I did as you said and every other one worked so I will keep it up . I'm sure it will work. Thank you!!!!!

Thank you for your video. I did have to do the Power Button reset about 3x. I then got a little text in the upper right corner that said 'Prime'. I took the tank off, noticed flakes of ? floating around, cleaned the inside with a soapy sponge, rinsed it well. Put it back on the machine, filled it with fresh water & viola ! Full cups of coffee, once again.
I was preparing myself with gloves and a N95 mask to venture out for an essential new coffee maker when I came across your video. Thanks for saving me the cost of a new Keurig and from the corona virus Covid-19 !
Just tried this out to fix a very weird problem with our keurig. It just started to pump tons of water out and turning it off was the only way to stop the flow. After doing a regular power cycle it still dumped out too much water, but after this reset trick holding the button down prior to plugging it in, it at least stops the flow of water. The problem now is that about 2-3oz more water than selected. But this is better then water all over the counter.

mine is the updated version k500 serios 2.0 mine doesn’t have a switch. It’s all touch but the screen kept flickering with the power button so it didn’t let me push the power button so what i did i just push the keurig button that’s for selection of cup size i presses that about 10 seconds and it worked. It’s like it reboot the keurig now it’s actually on and is finally on the screen of lift to begin. Thank you
thanks for the tip. You may be on to something here. It does reset it, momentarily, like you said. But it certainly is better than what my K50 was doing before.
Thank you for being competent... We looked at a few other videos... The others rattled for a while and said nothing .. you stated the oroblem, then the fix.. I like this.
I have a kureg with power button, led screen, menu. button and the 3 cup size buttons. for some reason the three cup size buttons work as the menu buttons, I will have to keep cycling through the buttons until I get lucky and get it to brew. any suggestions?
On the newer ones I believe you need to hold down the "Brew" button. The one you would push to start filling a cup with coffee. I hope that helps and God bless.

I was wondering if anyone found a secret menu option for these? Many times there is a way to push a sequence of buttons to push to see how many times it was used, or other menu options.
my keurig is making a loud noise and when it's not ready to brew it continues to run water even if i select a cup size it will run the cup size but, won't fill up and when the water is being extracted from the resevoir it steady runs water i don't know what to do
+Andrea Steptoe I would suggest repeating the reset procedure several times as I had to do, as explained in the video. Here's hoping it works. It worked for me.
Hi Maria. I wish I could help but don't know that brand. There is most likely a float that is stuck toward the bottom. Or something that checks the weight of the tank. Look and see if you can locate something that might fit that description. Thank you for your comment and God bless.
+Billy S When you turn your machine off with the switch it is not REALLY off. Turn it off and unplug the power cord. Then, hold down the On/Off button while plugging it back in. It may take more than one time. Hope this helps. MrKent

I've got the cheaper slim model. Close the lid and only the power light came on but none of the ounce brew lights. I could force a brew by holding down the 12 and 8 ounce cups at the same time until the descale option started... emergency coffee brew! Lol but yes, I held the power button down and unplugged my machine. Counted 10 seconds and while still holding my power button plugged back in and counted another 10 seconds. Seems to be working now. But mine intermittently worked before. I think I need to take mine completely apart and clean all the electricical connections. I live 1 mile from the beach and the salt air here causes corrosion bad! Never buy a coastal vehicle. Same as a road salt vehicle... rust and electrical problems. Anyway, thanks for posting this.

It sounds like you are in the setup menu. Or, the may be other problems with yours. I suggest trying again by first turn off the coffee maker, then unplug, then follow the steps given in the video.

+Shirley Madison Hi Shirley, I am not real familiar with the "2" version but I know there is an on-off button on the right side of the machine. I would suggest - unplug, hold down on-off button, plug in. People have found that you sometimes need to repeat this process several times to get it to work. mine makes a cup of coffee an about 15 minutes later it powers off so you have to power it back on an wait for the water to heat up is this normal I'm new with Keurig
If you have the manual (If not look on Google), look for "automatic shutoff." It defaults to nine hours, but yours may have been changed by mistake. I hope that helps, and God bless.

I'll be dammed! Keurig, 2.0, hasn't pumped, brewed in 5 days, nearly destroyed it, display hasn't worked in over a month. THIS WORKED.

Thank you for your video. I did have to do the Power Button reset about 3x. I then got a little text in the upper right corner that said 'Prime'. I took the tank off, noticed flakes of ? floating around, cleaned the inside with a soapy sponge, rinsed it well. Put it back on the machine, filled it with fresh water & viola ! Full cups of coffee, once again.

Just tried this out to fix a very weird problem with our keurig. It just started to pump tons of water out and turning it off was the only way to stop the flow. After doing a regular power cycle it still dumped out too much water, but after this reset trick holding the button down prior to plugging it in, it at least stops the flow of water. The problem now is that about 2-3oz more water than selected. But this is better then water all over the counter.

mine is the updated version k500 serios 2.0 mine doesn’t have a switch. It’s all touch but the screen kept flickering with the power button so it didn’t let me push the power button so what i did i just push the keurig button that’s for selection of cup size i presses that about 10 seconds and it worked. It’s like it reboot the keurig now it’s actually on and is finally on the screen of lift to begin. Thank you

I have a kureg with power button, led screen, menu. button and the 3 cup size buttons. for some reason the three cup size buttons work as the menu buttons, I will have to keep cycling through the buttons until I get lucky and get it to brew. any suggestions?
On the newer ones I believe you need to hold down the "Brew" button. The one you would push to start filling a cup with coffee. I hope that helps and God bless.

I was wondering if anyone found a secret menu option for these? Many times there is a way to push a sequence of buttons to push to see how many times it was used, or other menu options.

my keurig is making a loud noise and when it's not ready to brew it continues to run water even if i select a cup size it will run the cup size but, won't fill up and when the water is being extracted from the resevoir it steady runs water i don't know what to do

I would suggest repeating the reset procedure several times as I had to do, as explained in the video. Here's hoping it works. It worked for me.

Hi Maria. I wish I could help but don't know that brand. There is most likely a float that is stuck toward the bottom. Or something that checks the weight of the tank. Look and see if you can locate something that might fit that description. Thank you for your comment and God bless.

I always turn off and unplug my Keurig before transmitting on 20 meters. 14 mhz seems to be a frequency the coffee maker is sensitive to. 73's

when I turn my Keurig machine off it pumps all the water out of the machine with no power on can somebody please tell me what is happening

When you turn your machine off with the switch it is not REALLY off. Turn it off and unplug the power cord.
Then, hold down the On/Off button while plugging it back in. It may take more than one time.

You can hold the power button down and press small med large and repeat those steps 3 times and that will also reset it.

I've got the cheaper slim model. Close the lid and only the power light came on but none of the ounce brew lights. I could force a brew by holding down the 12 and 8 ounce cups at the same time until the descale option started... emergency coffee brew! Lol but yes, I held the power button down and unplugged my machine. Counted 10 seconds and while still holding my power button plugged back in and counted another 10 seconds. Seems to be working now. But mine intermittently worked before. I think I need to take mine completely apart and clean all the electricical connections. I live 1 mile from the beach and the salt air here causes corrosion bad! Never buy a coastal vehicle. Same as a road salt vehicle... rust and electrical problems. Anyway, thanks for posting this.

I tried this and now it only shows auto off set and brew temp set and none of the buttons work.
It sounds like you are in the setup menu. Or, the may be other problems with yours. I suggest trying again by first turn off the coffee maker, then unplug, then follow the steps given in the video.

I would suggest - unplug, hold down on-off button, plug in. People have found that you sometimes need to repeat this process several times to get it to work. mine makes a cup of coffee an about 15 minutes later it powers off so you have to power it back on an wait for the water to heat up is this normal I'm new with Keurig
If you have the manual (If not look on Google), look for "automatic shutoff." It defaults to nine hours, but yours may have been changed by mistake. I hope that helps, and God bless.
