What drives me crazy with the CIV AI is that they don't build anti air weapons, never deploy jet fighters, and rarely use planes anyways. Literally, bombers are as strong as they are because the AI doesn't do any defense/offense with aerial units.
It sucks at building navies too. It’s something I miss about Civ 5 where the AI will actually build a navy and Air Force. They weren’t massive but still something you had to contend with.
@@Robin-sf3gk probably is but I haven’t seen one. Civ 5 had a Smart AI mod which attempted to improve all sorts of AI behaviors including combat but it wasn’t very noticeable
Really just here to comment: because of my own personal disposition to fetishize railroads, I've learned pretty quickly how good they are. I will begin building them at the first possible moment, and keep building them until the very end of the game despite the victory type I'm gunning for. I'll have half the world railroaded by the time I win.
I feel like one civil engineer is worth it just for the era score you get for connecting two cities by railroad and for building your first tunnel. I always end up connecting most of my cities with railroad as well, the mobilty is very nice to have even if I don't go for domination.
Great to have you back, Saxy! Liking this new style of let's play. Really concise editing and useful tips for each stage of the game. Looking forward to seeing the challenge continue with different victory types!
I’ve used a few 2 man teams on the huge earth map to build rails from Spain-Egypt-western china-Scandinavia and back to Spain in a matter of like 30 turns (this including certain rails to forts, encampments, and between cities in between
Gd points on the artillery army. I mindlessly bee line bombers but I could see how this would work, especially if you can railroad them. Great to have you back. Best Civ6 content creator of all time! Especially those Leader Spotlights that I watch before any new gm
I love building railroads in my empire! It's my favorite Civ6 mini-game. :D I've deployed upwards of 5+ engineers, all of them workin' on the railroad, all the live-long day.
I just can’t bring myself to build artillery. They’re slow as molasses and usually get shattered as soon as I bring them up to battle. Bombers wipe the floor with cities and units over an enormous range, allowing me to flatten city defenses before my tanks arrive. Also, enough bombers can take out GDRs.
Ngl I sometimes hold early game experienced siege units to turn them into rocket trucks, with a drone ig can have a range of like 5 tiles and still do insane damage.
@@battledroid7628 Don't your enemies then hit your rocket trucks with bombers and fighters, wiping them out of existence? That's what happens whenever I try them.
@@scottnolan2833 usually not, I play on king difficulty usually and focus science for the entire game, so like by the time I have rocket trucks they usually only have like industrial era or even renaissance era units
The problem I have with trying for a Domination win is that - as enemies get reduced - I am just as likely to stumble into a Culture or Religious victory.

Neither did ja... ah nvm to easy
Is there a combat mod which brings that to the game?

Someone should make a mod

12:15 .. yes! Two or three engineers leapfrogging each other can build a rail network incredibly quickly.

Good to see you back in action man!
Glad to be back!

Just discovered you, love the short format but exhaustive content of your games 👌

Thanks!
Thank you!
Do you plan on updating your leader tier list? I feel like a lot of Civs are underrated in the excel sheet
I didn't realize rocket artillery was so powerful. I want to stack them with a drone now.
if I learned anything from my mistakes, it's to never rely on pathfinding
Not gonna lie, kind of tempted to play as Alexander because of this.
This better be good! Lol

I have an idea try some random multiplayer games maybe a series
