Personally I would’ve went oligarchy and switched out when the war ended. Better to end the war sooner so you can stabilize your country sooner.
I really enjoy Gaul's play style but I've heard other higher end RUclips players say they don't get on so well with them either. I think it's because the district placement is so different. For players who are at a high level and kind of "locked in" to certain optimal moves when something doesn't fit that it feels really awkward to them, where kind of crappy players like me can just roll with whatever cos it's always a bit like we're making it up as we go! Also, it might be an editing thing, but I don't think I ever saw you use Hippolyta's Command ability. If that's right, no wonder you don't think she's a great war hero!
Struggling to get my first Deity win on a vanilla shuffle map game. I tried Cyrus/Persia several times, but striking the balance between defense and building is tricky for a Culture win, and he doesn’t get many bonuses to Science, so you can’t win Domination if you don’t win big in the early game. Then I tried Trajan/Rome, but on Deity the AI gets insane Science bonuses and I quickly became unable to progress in domination. He has the same issues in domination as Cyrus. If you can’t get enough cities to keep up in Science, you have no chance. Tired of losing because I keep getting outpaced in Science, last night I tried Seondeok/Korea, and went for a Science victory. I almost had it! The Suleiman/Ottoman Civ barely beat me to the victory by less than 10 turns. I also came surprisingly close to a Diplomatic victory. I think if I keep playing with Korea, I can eventually get that Deity win.
In other words, Gaul is a top 2 civ.
Gaesaetae --> Men at Arms rush is very good.
Yeah, they're nowhere near top 2. Honestly, what you're mostly seeing here is Hypollyta being awesome and Sweden being one of the weakest civs out there.

The farm giving you the boost is likely because you had 6 farms but one of them was damaged, so when you placed a district on it the game may have considered it fixed for that split second.
Ambiorix is the best you can pick if you want to dominate your neighbours very early on in the game (Aztecs are second best) Those gallic warriors are amazing and you can crush your neighbours until they get men-at-arms. No wonder you picked that Belgian leader.. I started playing with Gaul after I encountered them in a game with my Aztec jaguar warriors... they were no match for the Gaesaetae
hipolita can actually refresh units movement and attack on the same turn so when you switched position you can just refresh the gasetei then let it fortify (i know the unit names are wrong idk how to spell it :(
How to get a good early dominating game? Just get a god start, easy

Hypollyta is great when you have planes ✈️ build a airstrip put 3 bombers there and they can attack 2 times each turn
Man I really dissagree on Hippolyta. She can give a unit of choice an extra move each turn. Which is incredibly good on siege units. Before you get the promotion to move and fire on the same turn it allows you to get siege units to get a hit in before they take damage and need to heal. And it also allows you to get walls down much faster.
She's bonkers, one of the very best if not just flat out the best hero for domination. In this video she's doing the vast majority of the work.

I would have favoured oligarchy as the first pick, because with your culture you'd have been able to switch to classical republic quickly after making peace.
I was struggling with deity and then I realized if you play marathon it makes the game significantly easier and more fun. I also only play vanilla though

Hyppolita is 100% a top three hero. She makes units have a 2nd turn. Any unit. From a settler to a FUCKING PLANE. You can drop 2 nukes in one turn from one plane with hyppolita.
Hypolita is the best war hero and its not even close. The healing alone is incredibly usefull, and having an extra archer shot or bombard shot is incredibly usefull

@@matthewstephens6502 she wins even against those 2. The healing means that they cant break trough her. And its never a 1v1 between units, and since one unit of yours is always better than one AI unit, beowolf loses value

Early Game = Ancient and Classical
Early - Mid Game = Midlevel and Renaissance
Mid - Game = Industrial and Modern
Mid - Late Game = Atomic and Information
Late Game = Futuristic
You could have use hypollyta ability way more often it would have helped you a lot

Shes my favorite hero for domination. I like using her ability with siege weapons to get additional shots per turn, and they get XP faster to get the nice promotions. Makes taking down cities much easier.

There's a map options button on the small map in the bottom left corner. You can turn on from there.

I like this channel but too often do i hear "I'm not going to try and pronounce this (non-American originating word)". Do yourself and your viewers a favour by finding out, then we all learn something!
