Vetted and confirmed organizations who actually helping right now:
Long-term support for farmers: asapconnection...
Immediate support for everyday people (reaches people BEYOND just Asheville): www.belovedash...
Donation needs right now:
Contaminated mud clean-up: respirators, N95 masks, nitrile gloves, waterproof boots, and full body suits
Cold weather preparedness: sleeping bags, coats, shoes, and other clothing in GOOD condition (worn or torn clothing donations are not helpful and slow down the process of getting people what they need)
General needs: generators, propane, and camping stoves
Help small community rebuild:
Contribute towards a sawmill to provide free lumber for reconstruction: gofund.me/3fc3...

I'm in Marshall. We have purchased and converted some sheds into homes for those who lost their homes. If you have anyone homeless who is trying to stay on their property to fix it or rebuild and needs a tiny home please reach out!!!
That's so amazing such beautiful Tragedy showing how America loves each other...... THANK YOU FOR ALL THE GENEROSITY
Perhaps you might like to know about “Deep River Farms” channel, he is working with 2 churches for operation mountain, his latest channel upload he was talking about 2 Mobil home parks up in mountain region that were ruined. Maybe both of you should link up to see if you could be of assistance. He had said they were in tents! In his channel info he has the addresses and phone numbers of the church pastors with lists of needs. They are vetting the families to make sure of what is truly needed.
GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR EFFORTS MAY GOD CONTINUE TO SHINE HIS GRACE ON YOU. PRAYING FOR THE WORLD 🌎 🙏🏾 ✨️ ❤️ 🎉
Some of the poorest counties in WNC are okay and need the tourists to remember us. I’m in Cherokee County, the westernmost county in North Carolina. Our area is trying hard to let folks know we’re still open. We were to get the direct hit, but we’re only side-swiped. We think of What Could Have Been everyday. Our little airport was soooo busy the first two weeks with private pilots going out to y’all! I’m so sorry you’re going through this, and for so long! We’ve sent out a lot to our neighbors and will continue to do so until everyone is okay! Thank you got updating us. I’ve worried about you!
My heart breaks for all of you.. especially the ones who lost their loved ones. My daughter & her husband got $5,000 worth of donations in food & went to TN & NC. We love you all, thinking about you & prayers for you all. ♥️♥️♥️🙏
That's a good testimony
Your home is really a little piece of heaven
I respect everything you are doing. Your video just popped up today. One piece of advice for laundry. If you can get a toilet plunger, pump it up & down in your bucket. It will agitate your clothes and save your hands for wringing the water out. Many off gridders use the bucket method for washing their clothes. God bless you!
Amazon sells a hand plunger for Manuel washing - they work far better than a plunger - it's a good thing to have on hand -
You can look at another comment I made on hand washing on this channel -
As a Western NC resident too..I agree with you…Visitors please don’t come this year for your leaf peeping and fall weekend getaway…we just can’t deal with it now. And I too am so thankful and grateful for all the volunteers, donations and help so so many have contributed…through all the devastation, loss and chaos around those of us who live here it has meant everything to us-I can’t thank you enough! To TNA much love and blessings sent your way❤🙏🏻
Why? People with businesses are hurting. This whole stay away thing is for places like where we live and are lucky enough to have a little Wi-Fi. Different places like where my friends live west of us like in Murphy are fine. They need the leaf viewers so they can continue to send aid to us! Think before you post. I am not recommending they come to the damaged areas but your pov is very short sighted.
Go and support the businesses that also ha:e workers that they support.
I’m from Oklahoma and I’ve been through there many times in semi’s running across I-40 & I-26. I hate it that your beautiful paradise has been so severely damaged by the hurricane. Never dreamed it would happen there. I’ve been praying for you guys and will continue praying for you. ♥️🛐💪🏼🇺🇸
Ironic the Cherokee Indians went from North Carolina to Oklahoma via the trail of tears!
We are all so mortified by your State representative’s. Especially after witnessing how different the level of preparedness and response in Florida has been. The entire world cannot believe the difference in how you’re being treated by your government and your National Guard! It’s as if you’re in an entirely different country. The world is appalled that you are all being treated like this. They won’t even bring in body bags for the deceased! Who are your State representatives by name? The entire world would like to know!
Roy Cooper is the Democratic governor there he's the real problem
You gained a viewer today. Awesome to see a young lady like yourself living the way you are. And you have a beautiful heart and smile which makes it even better.
Sage, I just found your channel today and I just want to tell you how remarkable you are, you're like a pioneer woman, taking on so much , and doing it well. I have been trying my hand at permaculture, and know it's not easy....sooo much to learn. I am a wood worker/ furniture maker and three weeks ago delivered my first pieces to the Grovewood Gallery there in Asheville.....not exactly good timing, but, I'm currently trying to figure out if I can make a contribution in helping rebuild some of the hard hit areas. I'm in Knoxville, so just getting there now is a challenge. One last thing, during times like these just showing up and being kind is huge, your good heart is creating more energy than you know, keep the faith good days are ahead, much love.❤️
What an awesome human being...❤
A note to tourists.... there are many areas that are open and need your support. Please come and support those areas. Waynesville, NC is open. Leaves are gorgeous right now. Y'all come on up and visit!!
I’m so glad you and your homestead are ok. And I’m glad you were able to find a generator.
I believe it would help to have your chest freezer wrapped with extra blankets on all sides, it would also help to have as much thermal mass inside the freezer. If there’s extra room, add buckets of water that will freeze over the course of a few days and will keep that freezer colder for longer when the generator is not running. God bless
A good reminder and idea about freezing water. Good tips.
It is inspiring to see young people realizing the importance of self-sufficiency. I volunteered in Ash County last week assisting storm victims. I left knowing that the mountain folks will be OK. They are very resilient. I was raised on a self-sufficient farm. We raised pork and chicken. My mother had a huge garden and we had meat and vegetables year round. We only had to purchase the basics, flour, sugar, etc. My dad talked about the depression years. He said there was no difference for them. Life went on as usual.
Sage you are a beautiful and strong young women. Thank you for sharing your sweet piece of property and all the beautiful animals you care for. Thank you for the advice to folks thinking of trying to visit North Carolina this year. Praying for you and all the folks who are struggling.
First time watching your channel, you have a good heart!❤
I was watching a video by a woman in Appalachia, and she said when they have no running water or power, she washes her clothes in a 5 gallon bucket using a plunger to agitate it.
Sounds like a smart woman!
You can get Zoey bar laundry soap in many stores -
Don't ring the clothes out after rinsing just hang them out and let the water drain out of them -
If you ring the clothing out they become stiff so I just let the water drip out at night - then during the day if it's warm they dry -
During winter I hang them over a wood heater to dry -
It's not hard to wash clothing by hand at all - also a washer and dryer destroys the fiber in clothing so they don't last long -
Also for $1.75 I can wash many sets of heavy clothing like blue jeans -
I started working in the offshore oilfields in the early 1970s - we washed are clothing offshore on rigs the way I stated -
I was tired of buying washing machines 25 yrs ago - so my son's and eye washed by hand when the last washer broke -
We have an off-road cabin in Alaska. We have a small Haier washing machine and on sunny days in the summer we do our laundry with our solar array keeping the inverter batteries charged. We collect rain water off the roof in a 500 gallon cistern.
Excuse me Miss don't mean to embarrass you but you need to wipe your nose, your have something dripping from it, sorry to bring it to your attention without privacy to explain it to you. 🤔🥴
I live a few states away but this disaster really hurts my heart. I dont cry but I do every time I watch basically any video about what's going on there. But one thing that I want to say, and I'm sure millions of people would agree on this, is that the people of North Carolina are truly amazing. I love the fact that your own people and other Americans have stepped up and helped one another when government agencies have failed to.
Glad to see you weathered the storm and you are safe. I too was very fortunate to have suffered no real damage other than the emotional damage of seeing my community suffering. I live in the Canton area. Be safe.
Even though your going through some tuff times, your still always an amazing treasure.
Very attractive young lady!! Hope things get better for you soon. Stay positive you can do this.
Sage, I am so happy to see that you are okay and using all of your wisdom and strength to maintain yourself and your community. You will always be an incredible inspiration to me. Take good care. ❤
So heartbreaking to see the aftermath. I haven’t seen a percolator in ages! Thank you for sharing. The country life isn’t easy but is oh, so fulfilling. Earned a new subscriber.
Wow Girl, stay strong. Prayers to you all down there.
Praying for everyone ❤ love how you interact with your animals❣️ i love how the sheep love you i could see it in their eyes and how they ran to you like Mom❤. Prayers up ❤🙏🏾🧸
Never watched your vlog before today. I really admire your resilience, toughness, and positivity. Keep your head up. You are strong! 👏
God bless you and your community, Sage. You have painted such a clear picture of the needs and challenges that your region faces. Thank you.
Sage, this was a wonderful video to see, depicting exactly where you are at and the reality of it all. It is encouraging to see how resourceful you are. I understand the severity of it all and really get why you are exhausted. Thank you, stay strong
Happy to see you are safe. Your survival skills kicked in and looks like you are thriving. The highs and lows in a disaster situation takes its toll, you are handling it well.
You’re an angel. So sorry for your loss & destruction. I feel guilty out on the west coast not being there helping in some way. What a great video & example you are of gods children.
I thoroughly enjoyed the video. When I first saw it, I didn’t think it was going to amount to much. Boy, you sure fooled me. That is quite the setup you have there going on. You are also quite the gardener veggies and lots of beautiful flowers. Very impressive. Thanks for sharing this little window into your life with me. I really appreciate it. From Florida with love. Amen!
Seeing the way you are taking care of yourself and everyone and animal around you that you can, made me well up 🥹 I’m so glad you are safe! Asheville was such a beautiful city; it’s devastating. Sending well wishes 💗
Hope everything gets better for you. You're a pretty incredible woman. Wished I could run into somebody like you.
Thank you for the update, Sage. So glad to know you are safe❤
You will be more than okay. It is in your genes to survive and thrive. Surrounded by beautiful flowers and people coming together as they should have been all along.
Glad that you are safe and able to help others. Keep the faith that you and others will get some semblance of normalcy back soon.
Sage, For a one woman show you're doing amazing in soo many adverse ways. Stay strong.. you're an inspiring young woman. TY for sharing.
Your flowers in background are beautiful and it's nice to see after so much damage ❤️🙏
Sage, you are living my dream!
I’m so glad you and the animals are safe & sound❤️ can’t wait to squeeze you soon. We were so worried about you those first few days.
I've missed our weekly homestead chats/venting sessions so much. Can't wait to see you again soon!
Had been wondering when you might be able to get an update up. Glad to see that you and your place survived.
It is great you are doing so well. A week in and the recovery is progressing well. There is no magic. Fixing broken and damaged lives and infrastructure that result from a major disaster takes time and effort. Recovery is never immediate but takes months if not years of work before "normality" returns. And, that "normality" will not be like the former. The recovered towns and infrastructure will all be different in small ways, making it all new, sometimes unfamiliar.
But don't be discouraged or overcome by the vastness of what needs to be done. Take each day and live it the best you are able - finding the good in everything, rejoicing at every accomplishment, and remembering to care for your animals and neighbors. This is how community is built and how we as individuals survive.
In a major national disaster these people will be the ones to survive. Strong and resilient
Love the slow-mo. And the natural sound of the water in this video.
Been subbed since you moved out there. Wife and I live in southwest FL and we only got grazed by Helene, but now we have Milton barreling right at us. We went through Ian just a couple years ago, and your local community is the best thing during these times. Glad you're doing good, here's hoping to better times ahead.
Good luck! I hope you stay safe out there.
Good luck
@@terranovaacres Thanks. For reference, after Ian passed, we went 12.5 days without power/generator here. Hope you get your power back soon.
Prayers for you!❤
I wish you the best. Thank you for some insight as to what you and your community are going. You are all in my prayers.
My heart goes out to you and your community. I enjoyed watching you work your land. You are a warrior. What an inspiration for so many. I am so happy this showed up on my feed. Hang in there. New subscriber here. Prayers for you and all affected.
I'm heartbroken that I wasn't close enough to help or had the money get there, but it probably saved my life, because I wouldn't have stopped searching and rescuing people until I dropped...the thought what people are going through is devastating to my heart and the lack of government assistance is sickening after them giving billions Ukraine for a war we're not involved in is disgusting.......God bless you and everyone there, my prayers are with yall
Billions of taxpayer dollars
My heart goes out to everyone there and I do hope that tourists are still showing up to support. Prayers for you and everyone out there.
your an amazing lady God bless you all the people there are so amazing and in all the hard times never give up wishing you all the best and in my prayers everyday
Living in East TN between Nashville and Knoxville, We have seen our share of disasters.. and living so close to the Mountains, we become part of them. We become Mountain Strong. Praying for you and your community and NC. I have friends and family that lives in NC. God Bless you!
You are an inspiration beautiful woman I'm praying for you all . Being as self sufficient as possible is something we should all do to make sure we can survive.
Tip to save your hands and wrists... get a pole/bar, we use shower rod..hang it horizontal somewhere (between two branch limbs?). When it's time to wring your clothes , hang the iteml over the pole and twist the material. wring's it's self better, small strain on you.
I wish you all good luck and I just am so grateful for you and those like you who are helping in what ways you can.
I'm not good at remembering channel names and I kept wondering if all was well. I searched my YT comment history and finally found it and then realized that others had already asked you if you were good (and you responded). Glad to hear that things are moving forward for everyone. I've been listening to the ham radio repeaters and seeing how the efforts are. I'm glad you and the animals are ok! Hang in there :)
First time seeing your video you are very kind to want to help others try and get some rest so you don't get sick you have a really nice place take care

Hello from Michigan, I've been watching videos, I'm speechless of the circumstance. I enjoyed watching how you are managing and helping. I'm glad your fury friends are good, your doing great. I hope the power is on now? Being October 22nd. Sincerely wishing you and your friends the best. Yes I'm heartbroken. Okay, I'm done typing,..❤
You’re awesome. Don’t stop posting videos ❤
Glad ur garden is not swept away . Good luck
Wonderful video! Glad you made it.
I admire you for staying positive in a real bad situation...i have no doubt you'll survive just fine... country boy ( girls) can survive...." Hank jr"
What a beautiful lifestyle and place. Aloha, hang in there.
Glad you and yours are ok! Thanks for the update.
Glad to see you are safe and both doing what you can and listening to your body and giving her rest when she needs it. Take care xo
Sorry for all the bad things that came with the storm, but I am really happy to see that you are good and kicking. God bless!
Praying for y’all. Gorgeous flowers and cute cat, dogs, & sheep. What a blessing to have fresh spring water, eggs and a garden. That is so good of you to volunteer to help. I can’t imagine how stressful it is without power so long. My sister Maria’s and my dad’s were off for a week in the heat in Valdosta, Georgia where the hurricane eye was. What will you do for heat? The generator must help so much. Praying God’s peace for you. Great vlog and your hair is beautiful, btw!
I can bundle up and boil water on the stove for heat! Unfortunately I don't have a wood stove yet.
A friend in need is a friend indeed, good girl I'm proud of you❤❤❤
Thanks for showing us how you are doing. I pray you have power soon. Your flowers are beautiful.
Bless your heart i will keep you in my thoughts and prayers
I'm so glad to hear you're safe. My sister lives in Asheville and she and her husband fortunately got so lucky, but the devastation there is surreal.
I’m glad you’re ok 🙏. Not on topic but I see you have bees , have you herd of the bee expo in Louisville I. January, it’s awesome
our prayers are with all of you.. you got this.
Sounds about the same here in landrum sc south of asheville, lost power 9 days but had gen etc, so we were lucky trees down everywhere too, Don't forget to change your oil in generator every 100 hours / 4 days run time, will make it last longer keep oil around to do it too, only 1 qt usually per change.
Im impressed with survival skills. I stock- up some on box/ can goods. In retrospect, for- me, it wasn't that- long without..water, lights, microwave. Long enough. I cant imagine ppl that lost whole town, though.
I wouldnt mind kinda living off grid like this. Lots of chores but keeps you busy and fit. A great addition woukd be a solar generator . Going to get cool out soon will need the firewood ready also.
Knowledge IS Power...You are Power. Blessing be upon you and yours. You are upset about not being able to communicate with loved ones. not to long ago that was the normal. KNow in your heart, they are alright. No matter what that means. You are Beauty-Full :) much love from Canada.
What a resiliant, brave, and beautiful soul you are. Hang in there.
thanks for the updates, we were like where is SAGE and the animals, Dear God thank you she is ok
I live up Hwy 151 in Candler, the power went out at 1am Friday morning here, the storm hit where I am at about 730 am, or that at least when a tree came through my bedroom ceiling trapping me in my bedroom. Thankfully everyone in my family is safe and sound, we got power back on Tuesday evening so 10 days without power or cell service here. . Some people have it a lot worse here in WNC than me and my family are. Keep praying for WNC
I had been wondering how you were? I’m so glad to hear that you and your animals are okay. You have put so much into your homestead. I can stop worrying about you now.
Thank you for updating us. I'm so glad your homestead is ok.
Always remember never say never
